A white shadow swayed, and the four of them felt dazzled. Tao BaiBai strangely broke away from their enclosure and appeared five feet away. Then he launched a counter attack using the silver sword in his hand which had soaked through the blood of murder countless times. His speed was very fast, and his body’s motions were crafty; he could be considered to be a supernatural being.

The four of them yelled in anger altogether, springing their bodies upward. As four swords evenly stretched out in an astonishingly well coordinated attack to strike at him, completely without consideration of Tao BaiBai’s attack. Tao BaiBai’s eyes shifted, his body dodged them in succession, then suddenly, as if numerous layers of white shadows appeared before them, a number of Tao BaiBai appeared before their eyes.

A huge curtain of swords hit most of the white shadows, the four had unleashed their true powers, and the dark grey earth had been carved with more than ten terrible sword marks around a meter deep each.

Yet his last trump needed his life to be at risk. If his prediction had been wrong, he could have died right after entering this Devil’s Trap Pagoda.

The place was completely pitch-black, without the illumination of any light source, though that did not obstruct Ye Wuchen, who was capable of the night vision. According to the legend, one died inside the Devil’s Trap Pagoda without an intact corpse, but there was strangely no smell of decay and only the air of death drifting. Ye Wuchen sat upright on the ground to try to regaining his almost empty power reserves.

A pair of eyes were still deadly fixed at his back. In the midst of darkness, the eyes flickered with surprising dark rays that contained a brutal and blood-thirsty force which people tremble with fear at, like a savage demon that desired human flesh.

Ye Wuchen could not help the shiver that went all over his body, even his teeth involuntarily chattered. No matter how hard he tried to calm his mind, he was still unable to suppress that strong feeling of fear. The eyes gazing at his back were like teeth reeking of blood that were preparing to fall upon his neck.

“Nan-er, did you see her?” Ye Wuchen asked with gritted teeth, while swaying his brain to break away the sudden surge of dizziness.

“Huh? Who?”

“That Cursed Woman who is looking at me!”

“Hey, I cannot see it. You are Nan-er’s master, Nan-er can only see the things that master is able to see. A while ago Nan-er was sleeping… Hm? What did you say, master? Cursed Woman? Is this place… Ah!”

With a slower mental reaction, Nan-er realized something, cried aloud in surprise, then lost her head out of fear, “M-Master, no wonder Nan-er felt your fear. Ye Wuchen inferred that the Cursed Woman was locked up in a Devil Locking Chain, and that  this chain was given by the Southern Empire Clan.

“The Devil Locking Chain was originally from the Southern Empire’s leader, which could lock almost anything. Unless someone had power as strong as the Southern Empire’s leader or the Northern Empire’s, once one is locked up, they would not be able to break free. Oh, right! The Devil Locking Chain can only be cut by the Sword of the Southern Empire.” Nan-er was talking to herself.

The moment Nan-er finished, Ye Wuchen’s consciousness went dark before he collapsed heavily .

Ye Wuchen was lying there, unmoving. Only his eyes were opened unusually wide, his gaze was being drag in; he was unable to break free.

Because of those pitch-black eyes.
