The President is Being Shameless Again 391 Yan Huaian Turned Around Unintentionally, They Were Standing Even Closer Than Before

Moments later, she peeped into the peephole and saw that it was Yan Huaian.

Yu Zi was shocked by what she saw.

Even though she had some interaction with Yan Huaian at work, it was quite infrequent. Since they were working together, they had known each other for quite some time. However, they did not interact much outside of work. 

They saw each other even less in private. When they bumped into each other, it was usually a coincidence. For example, it was a special occasion when he had sent her to Sheng Yue for the engagement party yesterday. 

When she recalled what had happened yesterday, she stopped in her tracks as her face turned dark and glum.

However, when the doorbell rang again, she remembered that Yan Huaian was on the other side of the door. Her bad mood was instantly replaced by shock.

Why was Yan Huaian here?

Was he here for her?

But… how did he know her address?

Brimming with curiosity, Yu Zi opened the door and was greeted with Yan Huaian's serious expression. Even though he looked serious, one could tell that he was polite. This was perhaps due to his movements and his personality.

Yu Zi remembered the first time she met Yan Huaian when she followed her mentor to Yan Hui.

There was a huge table between them, and he was wearing a suit. When he stood up, his bony fingers would grab the buttons of his suit, buttoning them in the process.

He smiled at them and gestured at them to sit down. The hand he extended to them was fair and his nails were cut short. They had also been filed until they shone. 

Yu Zi was naturally attracted to a man's hands. If a man's hands were not good looking, Yu Zi would not like him no matter how handsome he was. Therefore, it could be said that instead of being a face fetishist, she was somewhat of a hand fetishist. 

Before this, the first thing that caught her eye about Yue Jingchen was his hands. Since he was a doctor, his nails were short and tidy, making them look very hygienic. His fingers were bony and long too, as if he was born to hold surgical knives. 

Yu Zi could not understand men who kept long nails, especially on their pinky finger. She personally thought that it was hideous. 

Some men were a bit lazy in cutting their nails, and there would be one or two millimetres of nails protruding from the tips of their fingers. In this case, Yu Zi would feel that there was bound to be dirt under them no matter how clean they appeared. 

Yu Zi had the habit of looking at men's fingernails ever since she was in school.

When she was in junior and senior high, she had boys chasing after her. However, during that time she was inexperienced, so Yu Zi often did not feel the same way toward them. Moreover, if she saw that the boy had an extrlong fingernail on their pinky finger or that they did not cut their nails on time, she would reject them on the spot and leave them broken-hearted. 

So, when she saw Yan Huaian for the first time, she thought that this man was elegant from head to toe. He was like a member of royalty that had just walked out from the television set.

No, he was even more natural and real than the ones on tv.

No matter how elegant and graceful the royals on tv were, at the end of the day, they were still actors and actresses. They had to be elegant and graceful for the sake of the film. This was unlike Yan Huaian who was raised to be so elegant. 

When Yu Zi snapped back to reality, she saw that Yan Huaian's head was full of questions. It seemed as though he did not expect to see her here. 

Yu Zi felt even more curious now. 

Did Yan Huaian not come here for her?

But he was standing right in front of her house!

"President Yan?" Yu Zi called out while looking him up and down.

Yan Huaian was not wearing the suit he would normally wear at work. He was wearing a loose shirt whilst looking very stylish, like those celebrities who were having street style photoshoots.

The thing that caught her eyes the most was the sparkling white wine in his hand. 

"You live here?" Yan Huaian could not hide his surprise before he chuckled, "What a coincidence."

Yu Zi finally realized what he said and asked, "You're my new neighbour?"

Yan Huaian nodded and lifted the wine in his hand. "I just moved here. Jiamu told me that my new neighbour was very friendly and said that I can seek her out if I need anything. I figure I needed to drop by to say hi, but I didn't expect my neighbour to be you."

When Yu Zi heard the name Jiamu, she became confused. Yan Huaian explained, "Jiamu is my assistant."

Yu Zi nodded and realised that she was keeping him outside the door, so she stepped to one side and said, "Please come in."

Yan Huaian looked inside and asked, "Can I?"

"Of course," Yu Zi nodded generously and invited him in.

"I just moved here so I don't have anything fancy. That's why I took some wine from home. I heard from Jiamu that my neighbour was a lady, so I took this sweet one. This tastes quite good and you will not get drunk easily." Yan Huaian handed the wine over to Yu Zi.

"You're so kind." Yu Zi accepted the gift with a smile. However, she still felt curious about why Yan Huaian had moved here all of a sudden.

What about his original place?

Also, why the hurry?

Nevertheless, since she was not close to Yan Huaian, she did not ask.

Come to think of it, this was the first time they had interacted with each other in private.

As they were both standing there thinking of what to say, Yan Huaian suddenly turned to look at the kitchen. "You're making dinner? I could smell it from the door."

Yu Zi finally remembered what she was doing before and put down the wine. "Right, have you eaten?"

"Not yet. I wanted to greet my new neighbour and then order take out. I just tidied up my place so it would be inconvenient to start cooking right away." Yan Huaian explained while standing next to the sofa.

The sky was getting dark outside, but it was still bright indoors because the lights were on. However, the dark sky outside was a clear indication that it was already night.

The room felt warm with Yan Huaian standing there, and the cold night air soon disappeared due to his presence. 

Yu Zi thought that since he already said this, it would not be proper to send him back now.

She bought quite a lot of ingredients anyway, so she could make some more dishes.

Moreover, it was lonely to eat alone.

Having said that, she would feel uneasy being alone with Yan Huaian. 

"Since you brought wine, why don't you stay for dinner? This way you don't have to order take out." Yu Zi invited with a smile on her face.

Seeing that she was being so magnanimous about this, he felt stifled. However, he still remained gentlemanly.

"Won't I be a bother?" Yan Huaian asked with a chuckle.

At this moment, his smile was warm. When he was working, he rarely smiled, so now that he was smiling, Yu Zi was a little shocked. She felt herself melting under his smile.

Some time passed, and Yan Huaian was still smiling at her. Yu Zi did not realize how long she had made him wait.

Yu Zi felt her face getting warm. She was staring at him, so what if he overthought things?

To be honest, it was just that he rarely smiled, so she was captivated by it. 

Not to mention, he looked so handsome when he smiled.

That's right. He looked very handsome. 

Yu Zi blushed from embarrassment and stammered, "N-No, you won't be a bother. I'm eating alone anyway. It'll be nice to have company."

Yan Huaian understood and grinned. Then, he said, "Then would you mind if I come over more next time? If I were to cook for myself, I will make too much and won't be able to finish, or I might make too little then it won't be enough. If we eat together, we can cook more, and it will be fun. It beats eating alone, right?"

Yu Zi stopped and considered it. She was not close to Yan Huaian, and their sudden intimate interaction made her uneasy.

Yan Huaian added, "I know how to cook too, so we can take turns."

"That won't be necessary. I'm not that stingy." Since he already proposed it, Yu Zi did not feel that it was appropriate to decline. "We're neighbors now, so you don't have to be so courteous with me."

"What are you making?" Yan Huaian followed the wafting smell into the kitchen. 

He saw some half-cooked dried green beans in the pan.

The beans shined after being coated with a layer of oil. They smelled a little burnt and were a nice caramel colour after being dried.

Yu Zi followed after him. Thus, the two of them stood in the small kitchen together, occupying the entire space.

Yu Zi stood at the door, but she was standing close to Yan Huaian. He smelled faintly of lemon, which was very nice. This made Yu Zi slowly back away from the door in distress.

Yan Huaian unintentionally turned around and faced Yu Zi. Now, they were standing even closer than before.

Yu Zi's eye level was at his chest. Thankfully his shirt was quite fitting, so she could not see inside it.
