"You guys should wait here and guard this place." Mother Zhen said politely.

Shen Ya nodded and took Mother Zhen's hand to show her the affirmation.

After Mother Zhen and Feng Tian left the room Shen Ya and Lu Jian were all alone in the large space.

They both didn't like each other and just tolerate the other one because of their relationship with Zhen Xiu and now that the link connecting these two icebergs were not here, they did not know what to do anymore.

It was troublesome to spend the time with an eyesore.

These were the negative thoughts running in their mind.

"You are different." Shen Ya mocked him.

Lu Jian was no different from a kid whose leg was being pulled. "So?"

Shen Ya wanted to beat him and throw his haughty face in the dustbin after his ridiculous words. She didn't want to pick up a fight in this ancestral hall of Zhen Clan. She was there to support him and naturally, they both were in the same team.

But her teammate was behaving like a complete pig. She was trying to make some casual talk to ease the atmosphere and clear the tension between them but this jerk was hell-bent on irritating her.

"No, Mr. Jerk! You don't need to." Shen Ya sarcastically replied. "Here I thought you were now changing for good and I can change my opinion about you but nah! You are still that inhuman jerk."

Lu Jian coldly smiled at her in return. He didn't want to clarify himself in front of the woman that clearly loathed him and could not wait to tear him apart from the love of his life.

He knew that he was wrong and has committed a big mistake while dealing with his wife in their initial days but his intentions were never wrong for Zhen Xiu.

His sole mistake was that he agreed to get married to her without investing any feelings in their relationship.

It was a legit reason to hate him but from an individual's perspective if a grandson wants to fulfill his grandparent's wishes without raising his thoughts against the marriage decided by his elders. How was he wrong in that?

He was indifferent and sided with his family after the marriage because his wife back then never tried to communicate with him but instead used his friends, colleagues, and relatives to get close to him.

It was his mistake for not taking the initiative in understanding her. From the beginning, Shen Ya has hated him like he has murdered nine generations of her family or even worse he has eaten her precious children.

It might be the reason that he could not tolerate her even after knowing that she was close to his wife. Even after knowing that he was a new person that loved Zhen Xiu, she was still against him.

If she was in his place and was forced to marry any other guy just because of her family then would she love that man?

He didn't know that but even if she started liking him; it would take time to develop feelings in them. Just like now he has feelings for his wife.
