Lu Jian was scared that one wrong move might make him lose his wife, so the idea of a trial relationship was the best solution that would let them together for some more time.

Now that they are back in the villa and He has decided to pursue this option, everything was more clear now.

Zhen Xiu was taking a bath currently and he was rearranging his work for the next day. It was tiring but being a hard worker that he was it was not that difficult.

He called the head butler, Old Lu and asked him to prepare a simple dinner for them.

It was already late and they were tired from their journey so a simple meal is good for their health.

"Anything else, young master!" Old Lu asked respectfully.

After all, Lu Jian was the new heir of Lujia and servants should respect their master and follow their command.

Lu Jian didn't want anything so he ordered the old servant to go back but then he remembered about his mother.

"Wait!" Lu Jian abruptly shouted.

The old butler instantly stopped in his tracks and bowed his head to show his attitude. "Yes, young master."

"Where is my mother?"

"Uh...she is not here, young master. She left the house when you took away young Madam with you."

Old butler replied honestly. It was something that puzzled him greatly. Old Madam was behaving strangely from the time Young Madam awakened from the coma.

She was always scared and jumpy. This was the same case two years ago before the young Master's wedding.

Lu Jian frowned. "Fine, you can go now."

His mother again left the house. Of course, if old butler could think about this point then Lu Jian was Lu Qiqi's son, he was aware of his mother's antics from two years ago.

Two years ago, his mother suddenly left the house without telling them her whereabouts and came back again at his wedding.

No matter who asked his mother whether his father, he or the other members of the family that was close to her or were considered close to her could not get out the answer from her. Her lips were sealed and she didn't budge from her stand.

He didn't want to trouble her again because of his mother. Their relationship was already strained because of his mother and Shen Rui. He didn't want to create any more misunderstanding between them.

Zhen Xiu knew that he was hiding something from her but didn't force him to talk about it. She didn't like it although she wanted to give him space in their relationship for better communication; hiding matters from each other was not a good way for their relationship.

"I know it might be something important for you to worry about this hard so I don't want to force you to tell me your problems. If it is related to me and the family or you then you need to share this with me. I won't come in between your office matters but regarding personal matters, we need to support each other." Zhen Xiu told him clearly.

Hiding matters from the spouse would only bring disharmony in a relationship.

She was aware of this fact so she took the initiative to understand him and his problem as a good wife. Besides, she wanted to start a new relationship with him so beginning it truthfully was the correct choice for it work properly in the following year.

"I know and I am sorry for keeping it away from you."

Lu Jian knew what Zhen Xiu said was right and he was again neglecting her standing in this family by keeping her away from her mother-in-law's matter. It was wrong.
And for their relationship, a simple mistake from his part would destroy his hopes of having a better future with her.

"You are right. It's about my mom." Lu Jian confessed but before telling her all about his mother he decided to ask her about their relationship.

He knew she was here just for the sake of revenge and her feelings about him were not strong enough to hold her.

"Before I talk about my mother I want to ask you something," Lu Jian asked neutrally.

He didn't want to pressurize her and her thoughts in accepting him. He wanted her to accept him from her heart and not because of any other commitment. Lu Jian was ready to do whatever it takes to make her stay truly with him. It was his redemption. He was all set to earn his punishment and do everything she asked him to do.

"Can we forget about everything that happened between us until now and start a trial relationship for the lost love you had for me?"

Lu Jian was scared to ask her but he was still able to let his words out before his scared heart stuttered, it was a big deal for him, their future depended on the acceptance and rejection of her choice.

Zhen Xiu was bewildered at his sudden proposal. This husband of hers was awesome. Did he know the art of mind reading? If not, how was he able to ask exactly the same thing that she wanted from him.

He was such a darling.

She reprimanded herself. "UMM… Yeah, I will think about it."

She nonchalantly replied and asked him to bring her dinner as she was famished from her road trip.

Lu Jian's words stuck in his mouth and he nodded positively to accommodate her. It was enough for him that she was considering this even after all the grievances she has suffered because of him and his actions.

"Sure! Take your time." He agreed immediately.
