"Did you know anyone else other than this woman coming to visit you?" Lu Jian sternly asked the tree.

"No, I don't. They only mentioned it once." the tree in human form shook his head hard to prove his words. He didn't want to be misunderstood by them. After all, this man was still related to his mother, how could he fool him?

Zhen Xiu knew that he was saying the truth because of their connection. She nodded and signaled Lu Jian to come aside and ordered the boy to quietly lay on the bed.

Zhen Xiu rolled her eyes at his cute antics. "Okay! Okay! I know. Lie down, I will check your body and after that, give you delicious food to eat."

His sad face immediately changed into a blinding smile as he rushed to tightly embrace his pretty and good mother to show his approval.

"I know my mother is the best." He cheekily rubbed his head on her legs. His short height only reached till her mid-thighs as he looked like a cat who stole the milk as he quickly went back to the bed to sacrifice himself..ur...to get checked.

Lu Jian was dumbstruck to see the cheekiness of the little guy. He was almost jealous by his straightforwardness. He knew that it was just a child but his heart still felt sour to see him taking advantage of his dubious wife.

Zhen Xiu saw that the tree was still gullible as before so she took Lu Jian out and wanted to discuss further things with him that should not be said in front of a little boy even if he was not a human child. A child was a child, no matter whose and which species.

"Yes, what is it?" Lu Jian saw her anxious eyes that she tried to hide in the little boy's presence. 

"I will look after him. You should go back to the office." Zhen Xiu started her words in hopes of putting everything in its place. This was not her old world where spiritual power was as common as drinking water and nor was the presence of the little tree was something that could be exposed in public so it was highly important to hide these matters in the four walls of this house.

Lu Jian took it differently and thought she was trying to distance her matters from him. He thought she was still not open to him and was not willing to communicate with him.

"Why?... I…" He didn't know what to say to convey his feelings and insecurities to her. "I can...help you. Why do you want to keep me...away?"

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Zhen Xiu was angry. How could he think like this? Was she so irresponsible in his eyes? She just wanted him to send him back and start his normal life again without getting involved in her family feuds. Her strange family was clearly troubling his family.

Firstly, she was leeching on him and now his mother was also entangled with her grandfather who was supposedly a lunatic. "When did I say this? Don't put words in my mouth. You should go and start your normal life back. It doesn't mean that I am keeping things away from you. I just want to deal with all these things in one go and stop wasting my new chance at life on those unimportant persons like your mother and my grandfather. I want you to check your mother's whereabouts."

She wanted to end everything. She met with the spiritual tree when it was still innocent and not tainted by that lunatic. What would have happened if she met him during the destruction of this world?

Lu Jian now realized the meaning behind her words and was no longer sad. He was a fool to think like that, it was his mistake that he did all the bad things to her in the past and was now becoming insecure day-by-day due to that backward thinking; it was not her who was wrong but he was a coward that gave too much space for misunderstandings.

He was the one that was not communicating well in their relationship. "I am sorry. I know now. I will help you with my normal humanly capabilities." He promised. It was time to change his thinking.

She was right. He accepted everything about her so easily it was because he started to love her and not because he was some strong individual. It was all based on his love and trust. If all these things came into light then it will bring unnecessary trouble. Until now he was in an illusion that his mother could be stopped if her mistakes were exposed in front of her father and their family.

She would not be affected. Her heart was too cold for that, he realized now. 

"It's good that you know what to do. I will deal with the strange things and you help me clear them in the normal order. We have to stop this nuisance as soon as possible." Zhen Xiu said with convention.
