Death's Scythe 18 Magic

In a deep forest , Leo walked slowly as he kept looking behind to make sure Leah was right there . After what happened last night , he couldn't leave her to her hearing if it was possible . It was possible she would once again lose her hearing and break down like last time .

He looked back again and sighed ' Not many people know of it .' Sudden deafness . Complete loss of hearing for what could range from a few seconds to even an hour . ' I haven't saw any worse cases online .' He thought back to the time he used to spend all day on his own , reading on the internet .

" The dungeon is in a huge tree ." He told Leah " Apparently , it has a barrier around it that makes it almost impossible to see with naked eyes . I have the rough location , and I can see the barrier too , so we shouldn't get lost ."

He looked at the huge dome above the forest , that , for some reason went unnoticed the last time he passed through here . ' It is just a huge dome around a huge tree . Are my eyes blind ?' He thought .

They kept walking on towards that dome with nothing to talk about ' That man is still tailing us . ' Leo thought .

He transformed a hand and lit it on fire and looked at it .

" What is it ?" Leah chimed in .

Leo looked back at the spy for just a quarter of a second then looked at Leah and said " If I want to learn a magic alongside my fire , what do I learn ? My fire isn't magic , but works like one . I want an actual magic . Name an element ."

Leah looked at the black flame on his hand and thought for a bit , then said " Why do you transformed your hand when using it ?"

People used different methods to cast magic . Most transformation type gifts allowed a part of them body to become a medium to cast magic . Leah was thinking , if Leo used the claws to cast magic , he could probably to do any type of magic .

" No , it just looks cooler . " He said as he undid the transformation , but his hand was still on fire . " And I can make the fire anywhere " He said as a fire burnt on his entire body . " Or at just one part ." As the fire his body extinguished except on his head . " And I can throw it ." His finger pointed at his head and slowly moved towards a nearby tree followed by a trail of fire " And roughly control it ." He said as he opened his hand and pointed it at the ground and the ball of fire followed suit and hit the ground just before hitting the tree .

" Hmm ..." Leah thought for a while as she rubbed her chin " Your whole body acts as a medium . You should go for lightning . It can easily complement fire and be much more useful in some cases ."

" I was thinking the same thing . When we get to the capital , let's look for a magician to teach me lighting magic . Now since we're on the topic , how about you tell about all the types of magic ?" Leo said innocently as he started walking .

Leah nodded and said " Magic elements are divided into 3 types . Attack type , Defense type , and the LEAST . Attack type magic elements are mostly good for offense , and defense are good for defense , as the name suggests . Attack type elements include fire , wind , ice and lightning . Defense type elements include water , ground , light and sound . The LEAST are elements that are extremely rare and hard to use . They include darkness , space , time and gravity ."

Leo looked at her questioningly and Leah laughed " Anything , that is a part of the world can be turned into magic , because magic works on imagination . These 12 are the major elements that most people have affinity towards . The attack and defense are usually the ones that people have affinity towards . The LEAST are hard to train in and have a very small amount of users , hence the name . They directly affect nature , so it is not easy to use them . Every magic has a price . For example , fire magicians lose their temper easily , Water magicians are always calm . These are some small changes . When one uses an element from the LEAST , they may even lose themselves , like in dark magic , they collect grudges until they lose themselves into them . "

Leo nodded as he seemed to finally understand his questions . He said " Let's hurry . It will reset soon ."

Leah nodded and followed behind her brother as they ran through the forest .

But the man following them had no intention of following any further . He appeared standing in front of the tree , just a centimetre from where the fireball hit .

" They know I've been following them . I wasn't able to gather much Intel except the fact his flames are a gift , not magic . The male seems to want to learn magic and the female wanted him to kill me ." He said into a mic on his collar as he wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead " I can't follow them any further , 36 was right . They can see our exact movements ."

Leo heard the whole conversation , but kept running as he grinned ' Good enough of a show ?' as he looked back at Leah who was showing him a thumb .

He obviously did not run at his highest speed , or Leah won't be able to catch up .

Meanwhile in Ziega city , a well known hero party had arrived . They weren't famous for their strength , but instead for the way they bullied newcomers .

The 3 man and 2 woman group leaded by the tyrant ' DeathSteel ' arrived in the mayor's office and threatened them into giving them the reservations for all the dungeon around the town .

" I would love to see how my brother intends to protect his sister " said the man in lead as he laughed and walked out of the half destroyed mayor's office . " If he comes back tell him his 2nd eldest brother was here ."

He was the 2nd Prince of the Grimm empire , Dexter Grimm .
