Death's Scythe Chapter 23: [Warning]

The mayor's office was ruined . The tables were broken in half , and there was almost no sign of any life inside , except the faint scent of blood Leo could smell even when the gates were closed .

Outside the gate was just one poster , written in blood and it contained what seemed to be a warning .

Leo was shocked . He only had memories of Leah . He was convinced the 2 of them were the only heirs . ' Well , we are talking about an emperor . He must have at least a few hundred concubines .'

He read the warning once more and felt shivers down his spine .

[ Dearest brother , You did a good job hiding her for so long , but now that I've located you , you can't hide any longer . You can run , though . It won't be fun if you don't . I will be coming back soon for that head of hers to pave my way to becoming the emperor .

Everyone reading this realized this was an internal strife in the Grimm family . An older brother was hunting down his younger siblings . Leo understood this point as well .

He turned around to leave , but before he ran off he said in a low voice " This place isn't safe any longer . We will be leaving . My brother should be a high tier hero from the looks of it . I'd rather not fight him in a situation where he has the advantage ."

He wanted to leave but before running he stopped . ' Let's try that out .' He thought back to the abilities of Gift:Reaper , to be more specific the [Shadow] ability .

' 100 Mana/sec . I would have to train well to make full use out of it . ' He thought for a bit and concluded ' I can use it in a radius of 5 meters . If I can use it on any shadow , it is almost as good as teleportation .'

He looked at a man walking in a distance , which happened to be just a little lest than 5m .

' Shadow .' He thought as he experienced what can only be described as his body becoming weaker , and disappearing .

It was as if his entire body was going soft , and as soon as it did he found himself looking at the man's back , from a lower angle . ' I am in his shadow . ' He thought . He could look at all the shadows in his surrounding . They were all at his eye level .

He thought of jumping to another shadow at a distance of 5m , and he instantly saw the back and much more which belonged to a woman .

The woman was wearing a short skirt and seemed to be a mercenary or a hero . He immediately deactivated his ability and manifested his wings to fly away .

From another person's point of view , it was like the shadow came to life , grew wings and flew away .

As soon as he was in midair he smiled wryly as he looked at the mercenary ' I need to remember to make sure whose shadow I go into . I don't want to be labelled a peeper .' He though as he sighed . ' My head is placed wherever the head of their shadow is . It can be dangerous if I am in a lady's shadow .'

But when he thought back to it as he was flying back , he remembered how he had acted ' I thought of her as a female . Didn't I not care about any such thing ?' He laughed as he sat on the roof of a building ' I guess I am changing .'

A dungeon in the bottom of a lake . A fitting place for monsters of the water element . Most monsters had advantage in this location , because they were either fast in water , or could use the water to directly use Magic .

Usually , when a magic is used , there are certain steps . First Mana is condensed , then the Mana is shaped according to the wish of the caster after which an element is given to the Mana . This is the way a master casts magic .

Beginners find it hard to give shape to a spell , so they leave that part for the end .

So inside water , where there is a high supply of water , the Mana cost of water spells is reduced . The same applies to other elements .

When it is extremely hot , it is easier to change the element to fire . During a thunderstorm , Lighting can be drawn directly from the sky . During a storm , the wind can be directed to act as a spell .

All magic can be made easier by using natural phenomenon .

So the monsters in a water dungeon always had the upper hand .

In such an atmosphere , where the monsters weren't divided by a floor , the dungeon was extremely dangerous . Anything from what could be the weakest monster , to even the boss can attack the one attempting the dungeon as soon as they get in .

Dexter smiled as he directly jumped in , leaving the rest of his party behind .

" Boss , do you really wanna go in alone ?" Said a man as he looked at his leader , who was still floating on the surface .

" you still don't trust me ? Didn't you see how strong I was ?"

" But boss , they were humans at the middle-high tier . The monsters are all higher than than that . You just reached upper-high tier . Aren't you ... Weak ?" Said a girl with a sweet voice .

" You all have gifts related to the same element as me . Even though they may not be as strong , you can still get inspirations from watching me kill things over and over ."

He said as his body arched backwards .

He roared as behind his back molten steel slowly came out and solidified in the form of hands , and then the same steel formed swords that the 4 arms held .

" Watch and learn ." He said as the hands made of what seemed to be steel , extended and directly killed all monsters as they went deeper and deeper under water .

Dexter who was standing above water just closed his eyes and stayed afloat as the water around him stared changing colors from a clear blue , to deeper shades of red .
