Supreme God Chapter 6 - Eos and Styx

Looking at the four people who fought in the sky, Themis's eyes were blurred and full of sadness. When they were young, Phoebe and Theia were similar in appearance, and their godhood was similar. One was in charge of the light in the world, one in charge of the glory. Their relationship was the best among the twelve. She did not expect them to start fighting first.

Both of them are dressed in white robes, constantly using magic to fight, with flashes of light in the sky. If they still restrained themselves, then the fight between Coeus and Hyperion was a lot more cozy.

Both of them had already put their armor on. Coeus held a spear, a bow and an arrow, while Hyperion used a lance. When Hyperion waved his lance, shooting stars fell onto the world, and raging fire burnt the land.

The fight lasted for a few days and nights. During the day, the lord of the high-altitude, Hyperion had the advantage. When the night fell, the Lord of the Stars Coeus dominated.

Zeus had been watching the whole match with the gods on Mount Olympus. This time on Mount Olympus, in fact, there were very few strong gods. The only ones who could really compare with the goddesses in the sky were Zeus,Hera and Themis. Others are the little gods, the sub-gods and the divine servants. The Titan's battle let them have a deep understanding of the power of the real major gods.(1)

Zeus kept his eyes open, his eyes were not sad or disappointed, and he did not say a word. As for Hera, she was always depressed, but she was slightly relieved at this moment.

Since the birth of Artemis and Apollo, she returned to Mount Olympus and wanted to give birth to their children with Zeus. Although her wish was fulfilled, she gave birth to a boy, but the boy was ugly and frightened Hera. Remembering Iris talking about how handsome and lovely Apollo was, she felt rage from the bottom of her heart, and finally threw her own child out of Mount Olympus, not even bothering to name him.

She didn't tell Zeus the truth, she just said that her child died, so Zeus has been comforting her and following her wishes.

The fight lasted for seven days and seven nights, not only on Olympus, but also the gods of other places were paying close attention to this war. This is the first conflict between gods after the Battle of Titans, and the gods knew that after this battle, Titans would surely fall apart, with no more having enough power to go against Zeus and his two brothers. The era of the Titans in the world began a curtain call, and the pattern between heaven and earth seemed to become clear.

It seemed that Zeus was impatient with this battle. He called the nine Muse goddess, and enjoyed their singing and dancing and drank for fun while the battle happened outside. Beside him, Themis' delicate brows were wrinkled, in long silence, still not saying a word and looking at the outer space.

At this time, the situation of the battle in the air began to change. During the day, a fireball was fired over from the sun, attacking Coeus. At night, the white moonlight was like a sword, and it was shot at Phoebe.

Coeus and Phoebe, who had been evenly matched with each other, had to extract their energy to cope with the sun and the moon in the sky, and gradually began to fall into losing. At the dawn of the eighth day, the sun and the moon were hovering over Olympus at the same time. Coeus was stabbed in the middle of the abdomen by Hyperion's lance, and was seriously injured. Phoebe was hit by the light spell of Theia and spat blood.

Hyperion and Theia were thinking about going forward, on the other side Coeus and Phoebe were kneeling down. Suddenly Theia felt a sharp pain in her stomach, and her whole body was weak, leaning on Hyperion.

Coeus and Phoebe saw each other and hurriedly flew away and left Mount Olympus. Hera saw it, but when she was about to attack and capture them, a goddess stood up and stepped out, blocking her path. It was the goddess of justice, Themis.

Seeing that Themis was standing in front of her with an expressionless face, Hera knew that she couldn't do anything. She merely laughed and returned to her seat.

Zeus looked at the scene in front of him, and did not put a word. He looked at Coeus and Phoebe, who were far away, and did not see any action. Instead, he quickly went to Theia's side, inquiring about her situation.

“Probably the fight took too long, and it affected the fetus.” Hyperion revealed that his wife was pregnant with a child, and he already knew it. Because of this, they decided to take refuge in Zeus, to help enhance the strength of their children.

The universe endowed the gods with divine power, but said power was neither endless nor immutable. If the gods wanted to improve their own strength, the only way was to undertake a divine position. In the process, the god used their divine power, gained understandings of their own divine power, and matched it with the laws of the universe. That's the prerequisite for the gods to take further step to the next level of godhood. Moreover, there are some divine position that require being a major god to hold, whoever held such a position could increase their understanding of the laws of the universe and improve themselves faster.

Zeus heard that Theia was pregnant with a child and called the three goddesses of fate to ask about it. It was Hera who secretly groaned in her heart. You fought for seven days and seven nights without problem. And when the enemies was about to be captured, your child got a health problem? What a good excuse!

“Her beauty makes the gods obsessed, she dyes the sky of dawn with her light.” Said the leader among the three sisters, the Closso, who ruled the line of life and the future.

“Goddess of Dawn? Sure enough, it's a good godhood, is it good to call her Eos?” Zeus said to Hyperion and Theia.

“Thank you for this name taken by the king of gods. When she is born, she will be called Eos.” Hyperion smiled. Since he had decided to support Zeus, he did not care about these small things. Behind him, the newly appointed sun god Helios and the moon god Selene were also extremely happy and nodded.

“Well, after she is born, I'll give her the golden chariot with two pegasus that I usually drive. It is my blessing to her.”

Only the goddess of justice,Themis, whispered to herself: “Dawn? Whose dawn, whose dawn…”

Somewhere on the vast ocean, there is a place called Arcadia, where the seasons were always like spring and the scenery is beautiful. At this point in time, Adelos and Artemis were resting on this island.

Artemis took Adelos by boat and went all the way here. They suffered storms, huge waves, encountered sea monsters, and that didn't cause them little damage. When the storm was raging, they could find an island next to them; when the waves hit, they all hit them from the side; when they met the sea monster, a goddess saved them. The goddess wore a black dress, her beautiful face was smooth and glamorous, with black hair like a waterfall.

Adelos looked at the goddess named Styx in front of him. When the sea monster bit, he thought he was going to die. The result was that the beautiful goddess appeared and saved his and Artemis' life. Seeing how she looked like him, black hair, black pupil, if not for her tall and beautiful nose, he had to suspect that she was his real mother.

“You mean that you two are daughter and son of Leto and Zeus, and are being chased by Hera?” Knowing the situation of the two, Styx said while giving them a strange look.

She was cousin to Zeus and Leto. Her parents were the masters of the ocean, Oceanus and Tethys.

“Yes, that's right. Aunt Styx, I don't want to drag you in this mess, so please don't hand us over, we will find a place to hide. Then we will grow up.” Artemis was ragged, but when talking about the word “grow up”, her eyes were firm and she confronted Styx head on.

Seeing the innocent girl, Styx had a feeling that the girl would be a great god in the future. She touched Artemis's head and smiled. “What do you say? You and your brother will grow up in Arcadia in the future. No one will dare to come and hurt you.” She is the goddess in charge of oaths and rivers, till now, no one dared to offend her, she had never been afraid of anyone.

Although she was embarrassed by her father and sister Metis, in the Battle of the Titans, she led her children to break with her husband Pallas, the god of warfare, and helped Zeus to win, but it did not mean that she wanted to follow Zeus' orders. Her husband Pallas, along with his father Crius, stood firmly on Cronus' side and were locked together by Zeus in the abyss of Tartarus after the end of the war.

Arcadia is where she grew up with all her sisters, and here she had the best memories. Whenever the spring season came, she would come back here and spend a happy month with all her sisters.

“Aunt Styx, aren't you saying that all your sisters are living here? Why do we not see anyone on the whole island?” Adelos was full of doubts. This island was completely different with the Arcadia in his mind, which was full of beautiful goddesses.

“They all went to the wedding. You two, you have to sort yourselves out, wait to go with me.”

“Wedding? Whose wedding?” Hearing about the wedding, Artemis was excited. In her childhood  she lived on a desolate island, so she never participated in a wedding, she only knew about it by her mother's words.

“Your other aunt, my sister Amphitrite.” Styx smiled back.

Hearing the name of Amphitrite, Adelos thought: If I remember correctly, Amphitrite's husband should be the current king of the sea.
