Chapter 18: Hestia's Manor (2)

"Sister Styx, you've been more than a year now. It's time to go back." Looking at Styx, Hestia leaned over her seat helplessly.

While eating the grapes besides Adelos, Styx teased him with one of them and joked about. "What's the matter? I won't leave Hestia so soon."

Adelos groaned inwardly. He felt rather helpless. He'd long thought his aunt would take him to the Styx River hence he happily went along, but who'd have thought that she'd end up staying in Hestia's manor for well over a year, and moreover, she seemed to have no intention of leaving! Although Adelos wanted to leave, he could not very well reveal the secret of Pangu's blood. This secret of his was of great importance if wished to increase his strength. So, he could only hopelessly eat the grapes his aunt fed him as she babied him like she was his mother.

She revealed a lovely smile and Adelos almost choked.

"The Underworld is so desolate. It's no fun at all. You won't like it there." Styx complained. "Knowing me, why did Zeus send me to look after the river?"

"You don't want blissful happiness. You know how many gods who want a divine position to match their divine power? And there is none other like you especially the power of your oath. There is no better place for it than in the Underworld River."

"It very much feels like being a priest though at least a divine position can improve our divine power by leaps and bounds. Ah, why don't you go to your brother and ask for a position? Knowing you, he won't refuse if you ask for it, right?" Styx's eyes narrowed as she laughed merrily. She can already begin to imagine their horrendous attempts to hide their lust for Hestia if they'd even see a glimpse of her.

"The time is not yet ripe." Ignoring Styx's mockery, Hestia responded weakly.

Styx didn't think much about it whereas, Adelos sank back to his thoughts. It seems the goddess is able to predict the future. He's just not sure what boundless strength she holds.

While the two goddesses chat happily, there was a sudden wave of disruption in the air. Styx sat up and muttered to herself. "Why is she here?"

Then, a tall, solemn, and dignified goddess fell in front of the three gods. Her blonde hair fell on her shoulders in waves. She wore a ribbon-like wreath on her head which fell just above her eyebrows.

Seeing her, Adelos fell into a sigh of hopelessness. Styx and Hestia were already attractive enough. Was there a need for another one to appear again?

The blonde goddess was a beauty indeed. She had peaks that were soft and perfectly shaped. Her hip line was curvaceous, a poison for many men. But her face, it looked haggard; and her eyes, they were puffy and red. She seemed upset.

Seeing the blonde goddess in this state, Hestia, whose expression had always been cold could not help but be moved. "Demeter, what is the matter?"

Adelos nodded. He finally came to know the identity of the unknown visitor. She is Demeter, the Goddess of Harvest and Fertility. She is the symbolization of harvest and happiness and is the sister of Hestia, Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, and Hades.

It is rumored that Zeus gave birth to a daughter with her and Poseidon had morphed into a male horse. Caught off guard, she was raped by him. Hades too had also pursued after her.

Adelos isn't sure what can make this goddess so sad who loved not only by Zeus but also by Poseidon and Hades.
