She Has A Special Friend?

Walking by the bridge with Ayan, Kiera was admiring the beauty of the Han River. The reflections of the city lights on the water made her mind nuzzled in deep thoughts.

Her life, her family, Owen - there were a lot of thoughts roaming inside her mind fighting with each other. And now a new thought was also added to this list.

A guy named Ayan who is walking by her side right now dragged her out of the hotel for sightseeing. He is so irresistible, pretends to be cute and gullible, but actually is not. He just does things as he likes and worse is that she is also dragged into those.

Come to think of it, she's never been to Seoul before. It doesn't look like he is new to this place too.... But he doesn't live here, right? Or else why would he book a hotel room here? Then again, who were the man and that woman with that child? What kind of relationship do they hold with him?

Also... what does he do for a living?

"What do you do exactly?"

"Nothing...."

"What do you mean by nothing?" Kiera was dumbfounded.

"I guess to be exact..... I am unemployed."

Kiera was in awe for a moment. He didn't look like a neet though. Then again, we can't judge a book by its cover. He must be the son of some filthy rich man then. Because the hotel suite he is living in charges a good amount of money which is quite tough for an ordinary person to book it for several days.

"So, who were they? At the hospital I mean."

"Oh! Them? My big brother and sister-in-law."

*Hmm... I guessed that far. *

"Where do you live then?"

This time Ayan didn't answer. Instead, he stopped walking.

"Stop interrogating me now, do you wanna enjoy the sight or not?"

Ehh? Did he get angry? But what's so bad about asking about him? Didn't he want to know each other better? Then, he shouldn't be the one getting angry.

Wait, why is she so curious about him also? Moreover, she didn't even tell him her real name. So, now she has no right to know about him, right?

They were strolling beside the busy street when the weather became gloomy all of a sudden. Alas! She didn't get to check the weather cast today.

All of a sudden, a thought crossed Ayan's mind when he saw her tense up noticing the change of weather.

"Did you ever get drenched in rain?"

Kiera tried to remember in her memory if she did. She doesn't remember any significant memory of rain but she was caught by rain before on the way home to school once. That was a very terrible experience for her as far as she can remember. As for the rain, she was late for the math exam and had to complete her paper wearing her drenched uniform that day. She was caught by a heavy fever afterward.

"Yes.... but that was a long time ago. Why?" She said remembering her horrible experience of that time.

"Hmm... wanna get wet today too?"

Though he asked simple-mindedly, his words sounded a bit pervy. As soon as he realized that, both of them were speechless.

Damn, what is he even blurring out huh? In this way, his crush is going to run away from him.

"I...... Just forget what I said..."

He couldn't even finish his sentence because he was too embarrassed. Instantly, he started to walk towards the hotel room.

"Hey, hey! Where are you going?"

Ayan halted for a moment.

"Why?"

"Umm.... I told you I am bad at directions you know....," Kiera said as she was scratching her hair with a troubled face.

Ayan heard her, but he just couldn't face her right now.

"Follow me then," he added without looking back at her.

Kiera was a little annoyed by his sudden frigidness. She didn't mind what he said a while ago. It was clear that he didn't mean it that way. Then why is he behaving like an elementary school child and ruining their good time?

Wait! Did she say 'their good time'?

*Wait, Kiera? You didn't go berserk, right? *

It's all this cute boy's fault.

He just keeps confusing her by his cute aka approachable actions. She honestly didn't feel that bad when he was following her around the whole day. It wouldn't be bad if someone followed her around like that.

Ahaha... Kiera, you must be a real nutcase seriously.... She must have been infected by Anna. Or else why would she suddenly think such useless thoughts? No, she has to discipline that girl and her blabbermouth properly, if not she will make her crazy along with her someday for sure.

But for some unknown reason, she wanted to know more about this guy. She could make him her friend. Though that is not the full solution to her problem here.

Kiera never made friends on her own. In school, there would always be some girls and boys crowded around her. She never felt lonely, even sometimes she felt that their presence was annoying. Getting too much attention was a pain in the ass for her. She would rather avoid other people than wanting their involvement in her life at that time. So, in this field named 'friendship', she had zero experience.

Actually... Now she did need a friend who could listen to her problems, frustrations, and sorrows. It was so suffocating for her as her mind was filled up with so many things. She thought of sharing those with Annabelle, but she couldn't in the end. Giving Annabelle more pressure when she is already buried with so much pressure. She just started re-organizing her life again. Now, adding a new pressure onto her would be hilarious, wouldn't it?

Remembering Anna, Kiera became more frustrated. Tomorrow will be the launch of her book.

Will she be okay there alone?

"What are you thinking about so seriously?"

Ayan also stopped walking, seeing her muddled in some thought. Now, what is she thinking about?

"Ehh? Nah... nothing. Just thinking about my friend."

Suddenly Ayan felt alarmed by her mentioning about a friend. What kind of friend would they be to make her this worried in the middle of walking?

"Why are you thinking about them suddenly?"

"Because tomorrow is a very important day for them. They need me."

The last speech made Ayan freeze. Is he that important for her? Who the heck is he? Before entering the battlefield, Ayan already felt like losing.

"Then why don't you go to them if they need you so much?", Ayan said, holding his breath.

"I can't. Tomorrow's important for me too. I came this far for this deal. I can't just run away now, right?"

"Of course!" He answered with great enthusiasm.

Kiera was astounded to see his enthusiasm. Doesn't he look more excited than her?

"Hey, I don't live here. After tomorrow, I am gonna go back to my home." she just felt a bit conscious and hoped that he won't show this much enthusiasm about her in the future as it would be good for his own.

Ayan was walking happily in front of her as he was happy learning that she is not going to leave him tomorrow for that so-called friend of hers. But her last sentence made him halt again.

That's right. He didn't say anything except his name to her. Maybe she isn't honest with him about other things too. Somehow 'Abby' name doesn't suit this woman. Still, she told him that it was her name so he wants to consider it as a real one and decided to believe her for now. But what about other things?

He did want to play the game of destiny by not telling each other's personal information to see if they can meet each other again coincidentally. Though there was a very thin chance of that, he still wants to taste his luck. And if his luck betrays him.... No! Let's not think about it now. Let's just see what happens. He just can't ruin the present by thinking about the future. Never.

"Then I will wish you a safe journey, my lady!" Ayan replied calmly after a long time.

This time, Kiera paused on walking. She thought she wasn't going to get an answer from him. But it looks like this guy... he didn't even care if they never get to meet each other again or not.

How cruel!

Kiera didn't know what actually was cruel that Ayan did but she felt uncomfortable all of a sudden. The whole situation felt so suffocating to her that she couldn't just stand there anymore. She walked away without him towards leaving him there in the middle of the street.

Thank God, she can remember this road from here. Or else she had to call someone from the hotel staff to take her to the hotel.
