New Start

11 o' clock.

The alarm went crazy shouting but the owner of that machine was still sleeping shamelessly without noticing her poor servant. It was the third time the alarm screamed using all of its HP. That was an everyday picture of Anna's house. She lives alone in a 1400 square feet apartment which was neatly designed by her. Every inch of her interior had a childish and cozy vibe. This was designed a long time ago, when she was eighteen or nineteen.




Then she was a sweet, cheery young girl. And now she is a grown woman. That was not the only difference between her younger and older version. She is more mature now, but the thing that never changed was her home. It reminded her of her beautiful past which she thought she would forget one day. But it was her character to never forget the did. She wanted to keep her past memories as a bittersweet story of her life.




Finally, Annabelle woke up from a phone call. She had to pick it up because the different set ringtone reminded her that it's her friend Kiera calling. Kiera wasn't her best friend, but she was the only friend that Annabelle had for the past 3 years and she was the only person she considers keeping in touch with.




"Anna! For God's sake! Today's the submission date! Did you post it or not?"

Kiera's shouting made Annabelle take her phone five inches far from her ears.




"Aigho, why are you shouting in the early morning? You are gonna damage my ears too."




"Don't talk nonsense Anna, If you are going to keep this up, I will refuse the publisher and declare that you are never gonna submit your novel to them!"




"Hey! Don't do that. Ok, don't panic. Let me grab something to eat and then I will just post it right away."




"Yeah, just hurry up."

*thunk*




Kiera put down her telephone receiver with a loud bang. Annabelle could understand her impatience. It was the fifth time that the submission date was set. She finished writing her novel a long time ago. But she was in a dilemma whether she should post it or not.




Not long ago, Annabelle started writing in an online verified free novel website just to kill time. She wanted to be a writer when she was 5. But that was long forgotten among her big and ambitious dreams that until now she wasn't able to remember that tiny dream of hers. So, she started writing as an old hobby and posted her short stories on that free website. But it was totally unexpected to her when she saw huge responses and followers of her short stories. Kiera said that she had this talent from childhood but never tried to give this path a chance. She also said to pursue her new career as a writer. On the other hand, Annabelle didn't want to use her talent as a profession but just to use it as a hobby. So, Anna returned Kiera's proposal of being a writer.




It was settled. But maybe God wished for something else. Annabelle's writings were able to pique interest in many publishers. They found her Email on that website and started to bug her for writing a fanfic or romantic novel. Even the biggest publishing company in the country sent her a proposal for writing any kind of novel.

So, it made Kiera poke Anna for writing something new. Kiera knew Annabelle very well. After all, she was her previous manager. After quitting her previous career, Kiera became her close friend. Since then, Kiera is like her mother. She not only knew her likes-dislikes but also knew how to handle them. So, she somehow managed to pursue Anna, and finally, Anna began to write her new novel with a new story. This time it was a mystery novel about a boy and his experiences of his dramatic life. Despite being muddled in mystery, that guy still led a carefree life. A life that makes normal people envy.




Annabelle wanted to portray her own character in that ML. Because she was another example of that carefree character as she witnessed so many ups and downs in her life just like him. But still, she loved her life so much. And that was the never-changing fact for her.
