Ning Tao scoffed. “Actually, you know nothing. Who are you trying to bluff? Calamity will soon overtake you. How dare you speak so insolently and claim you're giving me a chance!”

Bai Sheng shut his eyes and started to mumble something.

Ning Tao's heart suddenly reacted with the tension and oppression in face of a crisis. He stared intently at the holographic projection of Bai Sheng. He could see a round ball beside him, but it was partially hidden. He could not make out what the ball was at all.

Beep, beep, beep…

The speakers of the Apocalypse smart watch suddenly resounded with a string of odd tones.

Ning Tao's eyes shifted to the dismantled Apocalypse smart watch. This time, he finally discovered the problem. It was a button cell, seemingly no different from other button cells, but now releasing a mysterious energy wave.

This energy wave was very similar to human brain waves. Ning Tao's brain was affected by it. In that instant, something seemed to creep out of his brain, murmuring to him in soft tones. After emerging from the door, Ning Tao suddenly halted his steps. He gingerly opened a crack in the door and watched through it the holographic projection on his study table.

He had not been controlled by Bai Sheng at all. At the very moment when that mysterious energy wave appeared, he started chanting quietly to himself, “I rest in the womb, listening to the sound of the Way.” After a loud chime, he was no longer affected. He had raised the Blade of the Solar Eclipse just as a show to Bai Sheng. He wanted Bai Sheng to think that he was under control.

If Bai Sheng had appeared in Sky Clinic, he would surely have detected Ning Tao opening a crack in the door. But “he” was merely a holographic projection. Everything he saw and heard had been delivered to him via the Apocalypse smart watch. Therefore, he could not detect the crack in the door, nor the pair of eyes watching him.

On the table, Bai Sheng was staring straight at the good-evil tripod giving off green fumes. Finally, he muttered to himself, “What… what on earth is this tripod?”

Outside, Ning Tao could not help but curse. “Damn it, I acted this show for nothing. He doesn't know the origin of this clinic as well.”
