He suddenly felt that he had an affinity with that stray dog, having met it twice out of pure chance.

“There! That damned dog ran over there!” A voice came suddenly by the small pavement on the roadside.

That stray dog suddenly paused in its tracks, looking at Ning Tao, then turned back running towards him.

A few people from the dog control team had run over.

Ning Tao did not mind the stray dog's filth, carrying it in his arms and then placing it on the God's Will electric motorbike.

The stray dog was making sad whimpering noises.

The snowflakes surged. A miserable and scared voice resounded in Ning Tao's head, “Save me… save me…”

The voice tugged at Ning Tao's heartstrings. The good side in his go-between of good and evil was slowly awakening.

“What are you doing? Put it down!” A fat man yelled at Ning Tao angrily as he ran over.

Ning Tao said, “This is my dog. What are you doing?”

A bearded man pointed the wooden rod in his hand at Ning Tao. “Nonsense! It's a stray dog! Our task is to eradicate the stray dogs in this area. Put it down at once!”

Ning Tao frowned. “I've already said very clearly. It's my dog. As the saying goes, you'll have to see who is the owner if you wish to beat a dog. Have you asked for my permission to beat my dog right before my eyes?”

The fat man sneered, “Your dog? How about you show me your vaccination certificate?”

How would Ning Tao have anything like that?

The bearded man said fiercely, “Let me warn you! Don't hinder our work! Otherwise, we won't spare you!”

The dog control team had a quota to reach, of how many dogs to kill in an area. Oftentimes, in order to fulfill their target, the dog control team would secretly kill pet dogs which were certified of being vaccinated. Such a situation was common. The dog which Ning Tao had saved was an actual stray dog. How would they let it go so easily? If Ning Tao was driving a BMW or a Mercedes Benz while saving the dog, they might have been intimidated. However, he was just someone riding an electric motorbike. In that case, they did not feel the need to be courteous.

Ning Tao said to the stray dog, “Tell me, who was the person who broke your leg?”

The stray dog, feeling that it had someone to rely on, raised its front paw, pointing towards the bearded man.

Ning Tao got off the bike, and strode towards the bearded man.

“You, are you planning to beat me up?” The bearded man said with a face of indifference, and even a hint of provocation.

Right after he was done speaking, Ning Tao instantly sent a slap across the bearded man's face.

The bearded man lost his balance and fell to the ground. A few of his teeth also came flying out.

Just by his tone, Ning Tao could tell that he was not a good person, and had definitely been taking advantage of small business owners, hawkers and neighbors on a daily basis. Therefore, he did not need to hold back on his strength.

The wooden rod came swinging, hitting Ning Tao on his head.

Ning Tao reached out to pet the dog's head. He then got on the electric motorbike, started the engine and rode off.

This dog is really pitiful but how could I make the time to take care of it? But if I were to dump it by the roadside, it would be hard for it to live on…” Suddenly, he thought of something. “Right! The God's Will electric motorbike sped up, and on the road was yet another electric motorbike on steroids.

Back at the Sky Clinic, Ning Tao left the electric motorbike to charge at the rental apartment. He took a few ham sausages from the fridge, then carried the stray dog into the Sky Clinic.

The human face on the good-evil tripod had its eyes closed. It was not wearing an angry expression, nor was it smiling. The smoke being released from the tripod was also not the bluish smoke released whenever a patient of treatment fee entered. Rather, it was the black and white good energy and evil energy which would only appear whenever Ning Tao entered.

Ning Tao placed the stray dog down, then retrieved the Heavenly Hound tripod from the shelves.

The words “Heavenly Hound tripod” were carved on the golden big-belly tripod. Until then, it was still only a guess, whether it was a tripod left behind by Chen Pingdao. It was very likely that it was, but there still existed a slim likelihood that it was not.

Ning Tao peeled the ham sausage, then placed it in the Heavenly Hound tripod. He said to the stray dog, “Have some.”

At one glance, Ning Tao was stunned momentarily. He uttered, “Wow, you… are you the Howling Celestial Dog?”

The stray dog suddenly spoke, “Father, from today onwards, I'm your dog. Howl at the heavens? So be it. It's no biggie. My name from now on will be the Howling Celestial Dog.”

It was delivered in fluent Mandarin, with a strong sense of smugness. Quite cool.

Ning Tao's jaw dropped.
