His heart was still looking forward to it. Bai Qingyan seemed to like him. She had kissed him and called his name while thinking that he was asleep. 

Quite ironic that when he was at the company he was in a daze all day. Now that he was home, he couldn't sleep.

It was already ten o'clock when Bai Qingyan woke up, the sun shining on her face. She took her time waking up, blinking slowly.

“Yezhi… “

The first thought that crossed her still sleepy mind was to check on her husband. She turned toward his side of the bed, but he wasn't there. Bai Qingyan jumped out of bed and walked around the room, remembering to put on her slippers. Gu Yezhi had complained about her running around barefoot yesterday.

But she couldn't find him anywhere.

Maybe he already left for work.

Bai Qingyan remembered that by this time in her previous life, she was already disabled. Gu Yezhi took her with him everywhere, even to work.

“What's wrong?” Bai Qingyan looked around the study. It was like a tornado had swept through…

Butler Li looked at her and smiled. “Madam. Don't worry, we're just replacing some broken furniture.”

Bai Qingyan nodded and headed downstairs, clenching her fists in distress. She was sure that the furniture had been broken by Gu Yezhi. That room was his study, no one other than him would dare do such a thing.

Why had he left the bed so suddenly last night? Did he just run to the study and smashed his things?

With this, Gu Yezhi's thoughts became even harder to predict.

She daintily brushed her hair back and entered the dining room to find something to eat. Although it was two hours before noon, she planned to eat something to fill her stomach. After eating, she wanted to call Gu Yezhi, but she didn't want to disturb him. So she went back to her room to read the script.

She lightly skimmed the script and before she realized, it was already noon. She did not wait for Gu Yezhi, only calling him after eating lunch. Within three rings, the phone was picked up. “Hello?”

“Hello, Yezhi. I just had lunch. What are you doing?”

“I'm at work. I'm busy.”

She had no topic to talk about, and his dismissive answer was like a slap to her face. But she didn't believe that the man who had loved her so intensely was gone. Her rebirth couldn't have changed him that much!

She meekly tried again. “I haven't seen you for a long time. I miss you.”

Sure enough, his tone became more affectionate. “Be good at home, I'll return when I'm done with work.”

“I'll wait for you. Remember to miss me.” Bai Qingyan laughed.

“Alright.” He hung up.
