With one hand she felt his body temperature while the other hand sneaked inside his robe and rubbed his chest, searching for a heartbeat.

The maid she had accosted quickly fled the scene as soon as she saw the Master and Madam embracing.

Bai Qingyan sneaked another glance at Gu Yezhi, checking for anything out of the ordinary. She didn't find anything amiss. Her husband was in peak condition.

She hugged him tightly as tears streamed down her face. She had found him and he was okay, so she had no strength to hold them back anymore.

“Yezhi, I'm afraid.”

She was afraid of another dream. She more than deserved to die for all that she had put him through, but he couldn't die. She refused to allow him to die.

Gu Yezhi reached out toward her, but his hand froze in midair. It was interesting how, not long ago, she was shouting Gu Hang's name as she slept. Now that she was awake, she clung to him like a sloth.

He smiled mockingly, ashamed of himself. Even though he knew she didn't love him, he still didn't want to let her go. He also thought that even if he couldn't have her heart, he could isolate her from everyone and keep his wife all to himself.

Gu Yezhi couldn't stop himself from sneering at her words. Dreamed of him? What a liar! She had been dreaming about Gu Hang, calling for him from her dreams!

She truly was an excellent student of the Weicheng Film Academy. Her acting skills were impressive, so outstanding that she could easily win an Oscar Award for Best Actress.

He pulled her away from him, feeling agitated. “What did you dream about?”

She didn't allow him to create distance between them, holding onto him as he tried to pry her away. Shoving her face in his chest again, she practically bathed him in her tears. “I… “

She couldn't tell him.

She had been so bad before, she didn't want him to know that Bai Qingyan. However, there was no way to avoid it now. He was waiting for a response. She couldn't lie to him, but maybe she could omit some parts.

He felt sad, but he was willing to endure this sadness. He couldn't give up. He was in too deep and couldn't let go anymore.

Gu Yezhi lifted his wife in his arms.

Bai Qingyan curled up in his grasp, holding tightly onto his neck with one hand. The other hand moved up to touch where, in another life, a hole had been on his head.
