Chapter 67 – I Am Afraid Part 1

She cried for Gu Hang in his bed!

Gu Yezhi never knew that the moment he closed the door Bai Qingyan whimpered his name.

“Yezhi… Yezhi… Don't die… I won't let you die… Yezhi… I'll give you a baby… Yezhi…”

“Yezhi… Please don't die….”

“Ye Zhi!”

Bai Qingyan abruptly sat up in bed.

Her hair and back were drenched in sweat. It seemed that, in her sleep, she had gripped the sheets tightly in her hands. She was scared.

The dream had forced her to relive the moment Gu Hang shot her husband. She had begged him hysterically to spare Gu Yezhi. After the shot, she cried and crawled toward her lover, trying to embrace him as he died.

“Gu Hang!” She spat out her enemy's name, fuming with rage. Her eyes were still wet from her unshed tears and they shone with hatred.

Calming down, she checked the other side of the bed.

It was empty.

“Yezhi?!” Bai Qingyan's voice was panicked.

Without hesitating, she turned on the lights and looked around, but could not see him anywhere. Tears started falling from her eyes.

Her heart ached as she remembered Gu Yezhi's body covered in blood. She knew it had been a dream, but she could not calm herself. Turning over, she got out of bed and rushed toward the bathroom.

“Yezhi?”

She entered the bathroom, but there was no one inside.

“Yezhi, where are you?”

Bai Qngyan rushed out of the room and headed downstairs, yelling as she ran. At this point, she did not care if she screamed herself hoarse, she had to find him! She couldn't lose him, not again!

“Yezhi? Gu Yezhi? Where are you, Gu Yezhi? Yezhi? Gu Yezhi!”

The maid on duty was startled by her madam's appearance, looking as if she was running from a fire.

“Madam, what's wrong with you?”

“Where is Yezhi? Where is he?” Frantic, Bai Qingyan pulled on the maid's wrist tightly, not noticing the woman wincing from the pain. Her eyes were reddened from her agitation.

“Madam…” The grip on her wrist was painful, but the maid was more afraid of breaking free and causing Bai Qingyan some sort of injury. She shook her head and tried to forget the pain.

“Madam, I don't know! I went up to change the sheets and after that, you and the Master were asleep in each other's arms.” When the maid closed the door, she had affectionately seen the Master holding Madam. Why did Madam run down crying and her Master disappeared?

That's strange!

“Really? What about other people? Where is he?” Bai Qingyan asked, feeling tortured. If he hadn't left, then where was he?

“Bai Qingyan!” A cold voice called from above her head. However, for Bai Qingyan that voice was the best present she could ask at the moment.

When she raised her head, she saw Gu Yezhi standing at the stairway of the second floor. He wore a black robe that revealed a bit of his lean chest and his hands gripped the white jade railing.

He looked conceited and arrogant as he gazed at her, with a cold face and indifferent eyes. But Bai Qingyan was unable to see all that. All she could focus on was that he was alive.

“Yezhi… ” Releasing the maid's wrist, she ran barefoot toward him. She was in such a hurry that she did not even notice the sofa in front of her and collided with it.

“Pop!”

Gu Yezhi merely watched from above and wondered what sort of scheme she had concocted this time. When he saw Bai Qingyan trip on the sofa and unceremoniously fall to the ground, his heart faltered and he had to remind himself not to move. He had unconsciously stepped forward a bit but managed to hold himself back in time.

After falling, Bai Qingyan quickly got up again, as if she couldn't feel the pain. She hadn't even noticed the sofa in her way and continued to run upstairs.

Just as Gu Yezhi walked down, eyebrows tightened in confusion, she managed to reach him and immediately threw herself in his arms. She hid her face in his chest as she encircled his body with a hug.

“Yezhi… “
