Chapter 3: Smackdown
BAM! BAM! The punching bags sway side to side as if they were a metronome constantly swayed with practically showing no sign of stopping. Akil threw another jab toward the punching bag in quick succession, with each punch becoming slightly faster like building momentum on a water slide and releasing all the speed in one fell swoop. Akil shouted wildly as he threw a strong punch with his left hook, completely penetrating the sandbag’s upper part. His head stared down at the poor sand building up a small pile and sliding down to the side. Why was he having second thoughts about Akil? He knew that he hated him, but a small fraction of him couldn’t think of anything negative to say. The only thing that popped into his famished mind was “Why?” What point was there to come back? What point was there to stomp on his tombstone after everything we’ve been through? What was the point of anything he did at all!
Feeling defeated, he grabbed his towel and sat down on the nearby bench that was in front of the large mirror as tears poured down from his eyes. He knew nothing could ever go back the way they used to be anymore, and no matter how much he pretended he didn’t care it always made its way back up to his thoughts. Suddenly, the sound of the doorbell ringing caught Akil off guard as he wasn’t expecting anyone at this time of hour, as it’s only a quarter past two at the moment. He peeked his head barely past the wall just enough to where he can see the door but not look creepy. There standing in front of the tinted glass door, was a slim, tall, yet fairly built person wearing a mask of a dragon. Any indication of if it was a male or female was practically impossible to tell just with one glance, but there was one thing he could tell with the one glance he had. This person had a knife.
Akil’s heart sank as he quietly ran toward the exit door only to feel his heart squeeze a tad bit. The door was locked. He then dashed toward the window and tried to yank it open, but to no avail. Akil was trapped in here with someone definitely dangerous. Akil took a deep breath, looked at his skin color and sighed. He knew what he had to do. Akil was taught two things growing up, one don’t go near vastly old white people with a strong country accent, and two you must either fight or flight.
Now is the time to decide
