Chapter 11: Your Heart

Akil sat in the car as he looked out the window with a tired expression on his face.

What has he gotten himself into? All he wanted was to go workout in his gym, yet here he is playing detective with little if any training.

Cas looked over towards him with an intrigued look on his face.

“. . . Look Akil. I know that I was a bit of a dutch three days ago, but we need to put our differences aside for a little bit. Maybe by the end of this we can be frie-”


“No. You barged into MY gym, and the first thing you say after four years is, you insult my girl, and my hobby. . . I wouldn’t even be in this mess if you didn’t be key happy when you stabbed that 6’8 giant. We are past this shit.” Akil said as he stepped out of the car, suddenly his phone began to ring.

Suddenly his black senses tingled, as it told him to went back into the car.


As, Akil entered the car he pulled out his phone for it to only be Chloe.

He answered the phone, as a wave of consoling washed over him.

“Hello?” He said as his throat cleared.

“Good evening, friend.” a familiar voice said.


Akil’s heart froze as he sat his phone down, and put it on speaker.

“I need you to listen closely. Come home for a moment. . . or else your girlfriend will be found in two sections. Come alone or face the consequences.” She said with a little chuckle following the call ending.

The silence made it very clear how tense things had just became. It was nothing they were used to but needed to accept.


“Listen Akil, you have to go. Keep a weapon in your back pocket and you’ll be fine.” Cas said with a nervous look on his face.

Akil took a deep breath as he took a revolver from the glove compartment.



“Its do or die tonight.” He said as he rushed to his house, with determination running through his heart.
