Chapter 12: Choices
The door stayed in front of him as whatever happened in there would decide his future forever.
Akil grabbed the handle as his breathing grew harder, the sweat on his palms dripped over the handle and his throat made it harder to breathe.
Just as he was about to pull the knob, the door swung open as the giant stared Akil with his deadly eyes.
His mask was partially cracked, as he grabbed Akil’s shirt and threw him inside.
Akil slammed onto the floor as his jumped up with his fists into the air.
“Now, now Akil. Calm down. Lets be rational and nobody won’t have to hurt anyone.” The woman said as she turned on the tv.
Akil turned around as he noticed the gun aimed towards Chloe’s head. She was unconscious, but you could tell she was alive due to her faint breathing.
The woman signaled for him to walk over and sit on the couch, while swinging the gun around like some sort of finger pointer.
Akil cautiously took a seat next to her as he stared, waiting for her to pounce.
Silence filled the room as they all glanced at each other, with a faint sense of awkwardness looming over them.
“So how are you Akil? Healing well I hope! That ass-whooping that my partner here gave you was pretty bad.” She said.
He looked at his shoulder and touched it a little bit, and noticed that it was already healed.
“My wounds are just about healed up. . . Can we just get to business? I want to solve this as quick as possible.” He said as he tightened his posture.
The woman’s stance loosened a little as she lowered the gun from Chloe’s head and laid it down on her lap.
“I want you to stay out of our way. Simple as that. . . You mind your business and you’ll never see us again, however if you refuse and we meet again. . . Your life will be a living hell along with the rest of those scum.” She said as the veins on her fists tightened, and her voice grew more tougher.
Akil paused for a moment as he sighed and stuck out his hand.
“Deal. . . I aint no superhero, I just wanna mind my business, and hit the gym everyday.” He said as the woman shook his hand.
“And there we go, done and done.” She said as she tossed Chloe’s body at Akil and began walking out the door.
“Have a nice life Akil! . . . You deserve it.” She said as she swung the door open.
Suddenly there was a gasp as Akil leaned over the couch and noticed something that left his eyes open.
Officer Aaron was at the door.
