Who Moved My Mountain Chapter 18 part6

     "This type of person is an old fox. It's already late, just keep her in custody for 24 hours first. Dispatch a female colleague tomorrow to interrogate her." Zhu Ming Si patted Xiao Wang's shoulder and said comfortingly. He had anticipated this sort of outcome. Therefore, he didn't feel so disappointed. 

     Seeing the door to the interrogation room was closed, Jin Hong Mei who was sitting on a chair exposed a sinister expression and indifferently curled her lips. Questioning her back and forth, everytime was the same. She could be detained and brought in by those issues, but they didn't have any evidence. So what could they do, if they could not keep her under arrest. Having opened the clubhouse for so many years, she was never afraid of making a slip. Just had to wait for 24 hours, and they still would have to obediently release her.

     The more Jin Hong thought, the prouder she became. She crossed her legs and shook them, once again recalling Zou Lan who was about to jump from her rooftop today. She couldn't help cursing out gloomily. All this bad luck, it was obviously herself who couldn't hang on to her husband, but still blamed the ladies of her clubhouse. Also, didn't she see how her appearance looked exactly like a faded old woman!

     And still wanted to become a ghost. If she became a ghost, she would immediately find a Daoist priest and directly stop her!

     After cursing for a while, Jin Hong Mei grew tired. In the interrogation room, she leaned back on the chair as drowsiness came. After all, she was not a suspect so she could move around freely in the room and nobody would restrict her activities.

     Jin Hong Mei slept this way until midnight, when the darkness became deeper. Haishi town also gradually grew calm. The moon shone brightly in the night sky and, unknown since when, a black cloud had also secretly entered the night view. In the horizon, a sinister wave faintly rolled. The night wind slowly picked up and passed through the half open window, while issuing a huhu whistling sound.  

     Jin Hong Mei was awoken by the cold wind and opened her eyes in a daze. No idea since when, the light in the interrogation room was switched off and the surrounding environment was just dark, along with the wind sounds. She could only see a vague shadow standing not so far away from her.

     Jin Hong Mei jumped in fright. Patting her stomach, she called out with dissatisfaction: "Police comrade, you shut which light ah? All is public electricity, no need to save!" 

     However, until the end of her complaint, the vague shadow still stood motionless as if he didn't hear at all. 

     "Police comrade, why aren't you saying anything? Tonight I am cooperating very well, whatever you asked, I answered. Can you not scare people ah!" Jin Hong Mei was panicking a little and shrunk back in her chair. Despite that, with a slight manner of righteousness and a clear conscience1, her mouth continued to prattle.

     "Jin jie, I'm in so much pain ah~" Her voice barely landed when the shadow before her eyes gradually moved towards her, and an aggrieved female voice followed immediately.

     That voice sounded as if it was spoken right by Jin Hong Mei's ear and her scalp became numb. The whole person was scared to jump out of her chair. She couldn't tell if she was familiar with the voice or not, but it was obviously not the voice of the police officer. Moreover, the police officers would not call her Jin jie.

     Those who called her Jin jie were the clubhouse's ladies and staff members!

     "Why are you as police officers trying to deceive people ah. Believe it or not, tomorrow I'm going to lodge a complaint!" Jin Hong Mei suddenly thought of this. Her cold sweat all slid down but she still shouted in the darkness, wanting to gain herself some courage.

     But her words had barely fallen when the shadow from inside the darkness appeared in her line of sight. It was an almost naked girl, her body was entirely covered in purple bruises, and black blood was flowing out of the wounds. The corner of her lips was also broken and her cheeks were densely packed with palm prints. She walked towards Jin Hong Mei full of bitter resentments. 

     "Jin jie, you know, that I'm in a lot of pain!"

     When Jin Hong Mei saw this female ghost, her lips turned deathly white from fright. With a trembling voice, she spoke: "You are, you are Qiu Li……. Don't come over, I didn't do it on purpose, I didn't think you'd die……." She knew Boss Ma liked doing things when playing on the bed. However, he also gave a lot of money ah! How much could one play be? This kind of thing, it was unfamiliar at first, but overtime one would get used to it2. By enduring, everything would soon pass. How could she imagine that a person who was totally alive was handled by Boss Ma and died ah! 

     When Jin Hong Mei was trembling hard, her sight suddenly turned dark, as if something was covering her eyes. She subconsciously raised her head trying to see and caught sight of two bloodshot eyeballs and a long tongue. She immediately fell and sat on the ground from the scare. 

     "Jin jie, I wasn't willing to do it. Why did you force me?" The owner of the tongue and eyes firmly stared at her. The voice was bone-chillingly cold, just like a baby snake, coiling bit by bit on Jing Hong Mei's neck.

     "I'm sorry, Ding Xiao Jing. I didn't wish to force you. But the client took a fancy to you so I had no choice……." Jin Hong Mei hugged her head. Because she was extremely scared, her body was trembling all over resembling a sieve3. She only wanted to give a few lessons to the ladies who didn't listen to her. How could she know that this Ding Xiao Jing was so fiery and directly committed suicide by hanging herself.

     In the security room, the police officer on duty moved his head a bit forward. At once, he became fully awake from his drowsy state and subconsciously raised his head to see the monitor. From the monitor in the interrogation room, he saw Jin Hong Mei shrunk in the corner, appearing frightened while talking to herself……. 

     "You see, what is happening?" He pushed his colleague that was dozing off beside him.

     His colleague raised his head to take a look. From the monitor, he could only see Jin Hong Mei alone, and without thinking he replied: "Perhaps she saw a cockroach?" The southern cockroach was truly big ah! And they could also fly! He and the elderlies, as fellow northerners, all could not stand it. No need to even mention Jin Hong Mei as a female.  

1: Here the righteous manner and clear conscience was represented by these characters: 问心无愧 (wèn xīn wú kuì), lit. look into one's heart, no shame; idiom meaning with a clear conscience.
2: 一回生二回熟 (yī huí shēng èr huí shú), unfamiliar at first, but well accustomed soon enough (idiom).
3: 筛糠 (fig.) to shake all over from cold or fright just like a sieve, when you use it to sift flour, shake shake shake XD.

Yup yup agreed, any reaction is normal if you see a cockroach! I had to take out 2 small beetles from my room today (and I just moved in! >.<) apparently they got in thru the window… I'll need to pay attention to that But at least it was just two inoffensive and not-disgusting beetles and not another kind of shudder-inducing bug whose name shouldn't be even pronounced shudder
