Translator’s Note: This is a bit of a spoiler but to clarify, Rimbaud NEVER mated with anyone other than Bai Chunian.

The entire buildings’ red warning lights flickered on and off, and the three scientific research institute buildings were suddenly enveloped in a gloomy and depressing atmosphere. A smell similar to the humid wild berries in the Amazon rainforest gradually spread from the upper floors to the lower floors—a thick pheromone of an alpha experimental body in his matured stage was madly impacting the glands of everyone in the building.

Rimbaud impatiently held the back of his vaguely aching neck. His translucent fishtail quickly stored up with electricity, turning from a serene blue to an angry flashing red.

“This brat… is provoking me.”

Bai Chunian adjusted his communicator to the public to contact everyone. “Let’s jump out from the window and leave the research institute. The ranking was already predetermined, so there’s no point in fighting anymore.”

“Let’s leave as well.” Bai Chunian unconsciously brought the merman to his embrace, pressing his palm on the gland on Rimbaud’s nape, protecting it carefully. “I’ve changed my mind, I don’t allow you to look at him anymore.”

Rimbaud slightly raised his lower jaw, the look in his blue eyes were both bewildered and amused. “wei?”

“At first, I just wanted to make sure if he was the snake alpha I was thinking of. I know now.” Bai Chunian wrinkled his eyebrows; a somewhat violent trait was igniting and rising from within his heart. He carried Rimbaud in his arms and quickly walked towards the staircase. His mind was thinking confusedly, this merman has no idea that he will always attract all kinds of alphas with his slender waist and pink lips.

Bai Chunian had a memory that made him upset. He was injured in a fight three years ago and couldn’t train for ten straight days, so he could only be kept in the breeding box to recuperate from his injury. During this period, the researchers would secretly inject nebulizing anesthetic and carry his little merman away from him.

After Bai Chunian woke up, he’d randomly smashed things in the breeding box, impatiently questioning the researchers why. The researchers patiently replied, “Because the merman is in heat, we’re worried that he’ll injure you, so we temporarily transferred him to the snake alpha’s breeding box.”

But when Rimbaud was brought back, his body was covered in this kind of berry pheromones. His body even had some lustful bruises and scratches. That day, Bai Chunian roughly fucked the merman omega for a whole night, making a lot of noise to let everyone in the entire lab see that this omega was his.

But that night, even until he passed out, Rimbaud didn’t release weak pheromones to show his submission and obedience. Instead, he continued to release soothing pheromones while also bearing the pain—as if indulging a young lion whose claws had not fully developed yet and was going crazy on top of him.

Lu Yan was calling out to him incessantly through the communicator. “All exits are blocked, we can’t get out. Jumping from the window also won’t work.”

The Ghost Hunting Team’s captain also responded, “All the safety exits at Building C also can’t be opened. The windows are sealed with mechanically controlled anti-theft steel plates, so we can’t get out.”

The broadcast system, which had been silent for a long time, suddenly sprang into life with a blast of  electronic music, reminding the candidates who were still alive:

“Congratulations to the applicants who have made it thus far in order to enter the additional exam stage. Successfully eliminating Experiment No. 1513 will reward the participants with three stars. Leaving the research institute building right now will be regarded as unqualified to take the exam. Please do your best everyone.”

Bai Chunian froze for a moment, forgetting to answer his teammates. He consciously regarded the current situation as a provocation from his love rival, and an awful rage rushed to his head.

An ice-cold hug brought Bai Chunian from his fiery mood back to reality. Rimbaud wrapped his arms around his neck, his soothing musk rose scented pheromones enveloped him. Like comforting a frightened child, he softly reassured, “Don’t be scared. I can still… kill him. A second time.”

Musk Rose

Bai Chunian’s agitated mood did indeed calm down a bit, but at the same time, he realized that he and Rimbaud were both talking to themselves. He belatedly realized that he didn’t understand what Rimbaud meant by that.

“Did you think I’d be scared? Why?” Bai Chunian could feel his temple aching. “He just entered his maturing period, that’s all.”

Rimbaud still comforted him for unknown reasons. “Don’t be scared.”

He carried Rimbaud downstairs. From a distance, he heard the computer behind him give a warning, “Strong attacking intent from Experiment No. 857 Electro-Optic Phantom has been detected.”

Ghost Hunting Team’s last two members were let out from the C2 elevator. The person who came to get them was the Spittlebug omega from Are There Any Alphas Here’s team. The Spittlebug held a large bubble of foam on him and led the last two alphas of the Ghost Hunting Team as they wiggled on the floor in silence.

After listening to the system broadcast, He Suowei was already cursing excessively. Moreover, he wasn’t used to crawling on the floor, so he said in a low voice, “Actually, we can just stand up and run.”

The spittlebug rolled his eyes. “Hush, this is safer. My foam can conceal heat. If everything goes smoothly, then we mustn’t stand up until the end of the exam.”

“Ge, you run first. I’ll crawl with the little omega for a bit longer.” The husky followed with great enthusiasm.

They were still on the tenth floor of Building C. All they needed to do now was meet up with the two remaining members through the connecting corridor and discuss tactics together. This fight had reached the point where quitting was no longer an option.

Since the windows had been sealed off with steel plates, the light inside the building had become extremely dim. Without the help of the LED flashlight, the visibility was no more than five meters.

He Suowei lowered his head and took a few deep breaths while looking at the name tag with the three words, “Ghost Hunting Team” on his chest.

Suddenly, there was a slight sound coming from the long and narrow corridor.

He Suowei stopped crawling, held down the two people next to him, and said in a vigilant tone, “Something is coming.”

Something was moving in the distance, making a screeching noise of rubbing against the floor, resounding clearly in the quiet corridor.

The Spittlebug omega pulled back his shoulders and secretly cast a sidelong glance towards  the alphas on his left and right sides. At the very least, the alphas’ tall body and their unintentional release of strong pheromones could still give him a little sense of security.

That thing was getting closer and closer, and the rubbing sound it was making was becoming more audible. It sounded like a hard material scraping on marble, yet there were no sounds of footsteps. This thing, which was gradually approaching them, was unmistakably controlled by motive power.

He Suowei probed out the flashlight and stuck close to the ground to shine the light on the thing. He didn’t dare look too much, because once he looked at the Floating Eyes of the Snake Girl, he would be petrified to varying degrees. He was also worried that those two creepy eyes were peeping nearby.

But what appeared at the edge of the distant light was actually a foot—a human foot.

“It’s a person.” He Suowei actually let out a sigh of relief. He didn’t make any rash moves, but there was nothing more relieving than seeing one’s own kind in this strange building.

Looking up, he saw that this man was dressed in a dark purple team uniform and had a very rigid walking posture. His legs were not very flexible; slowly walking two centimeters forward, then another two centimeters forward.

The name tag on the man’s chest was swayed by the strong light of the flashlight. He Suowei could see his team name clearly: Any Alphas Here?

The Spittlebug couldn’t help but push aside a bit of foam and stuck his head out in astonishment. “Captain?”

Du Mo stood in front of them as if no one was there. His complexion ashen, his skin had become as rough as the surface of a rock, and his eyes were tightly closed.

“Captain…” The Spittlebug stared dumbfounded at Du Mo’s face. “Why are you…”

“Don’t look.” He Suowei suddenly reacted and stretched out his hand to cover Spittlebug’s eyes. However, it was already too late. Du Mo suddenly opened his eyes, revealing two dark holes in his eye sockets. Two golden eyeballs quickly emerged from behind him, vividly spinning in the air in search of prey.

The Spittlebug was so frightened that he fell into the alpha’s arms. Because of the brief gaze, his skin began to stiffen and harden. A strong stinging pain made the Spittlebug sob unbearably.

He Suowei held the omega with one hand, dragged the husky and passed by Du Mo. He urgently contacted Bai Chunian, “We have been discovered.”

As soon as they rushed to the top of the stairs of Building B, they heard stiff clickety-clack footsteps on the steps downstairs. The corpses of four players wearing Empire Awakening’s uniforms were climbing on the stairs in a twisted manner. Eight eyeballs with different pupils were floating in the air. The moment they saw the several people from Ghost Hunting Team, their eyes turned around.
