I had a chilhood friend,perfect as a genius. Living in the same neighborhood, growing up together from a young age, going to school together every day,also we often went to each other's houses to play. My mother,who always regretted "forging iron not into steel"* and nagged me.She said:"If you're half good as him,it will be better pretty much",i often pouted my lips when hearing it,i never could do as well as half of half,no,half of half of half of him. *forging iron not into steel : to be strictly,asking someone to meet your standards. Chu Shian hadn't been an enthusiastic kid since kindergarten; he didn't like chatting, and he didn't have many friends; instead, he was just fond of bullying me. Because of his unrelenting look, every time I tried to act nasty, I became honest. But Chu Shian, while not a hardworking student, could easily get through the extra lesson. I envied him and hoped to God that I had his Exceptional talent. Maybe I was born unlucky ,since the first day I were on my way back home, I ran across some well-known delinquents. They snatched my money and even pretended to break up my bag. As a result of resisting,i was beaten like a poor stray dog,at that moment,i wished i had participated the martial arts class with Chu Shian when we were in Sixth grade. I limped back to the school gate waiting for Chu Shian,this pathetic appearance could only temporarily go to his house to avoid, at that time his aunt and uncle were going to work elsewhere, and would not return for a short time. The fourth time fell asleep at the school gate, Chu Shian finally came out, in the eighth grade he was already a head taller than his classmates, very eye-catching in the crowd. Chu Shian applied medicine for me and told me to go to bed first, then said nothing and walk out of my sight,by the time he came back, I was speechless. His clothes were filthy, as if he had rolled on the ground; collar with torn marks mixed with scratches and blood stains, and I could see a bruise at the corner of his mouth under the bright light. He was obviously a little startled to see that I was still in the living room, and yet he rapidly lowered his head and walked back to the bedroom, as if nothing had happened. "Where have you gone?" When I spoke, I noticed that my voice was barely shaking. His footsteps came to a standstill, he turned his back to me,replied nothing. The answer was virtually certain; felt like something was blocking my throat, making it difficult for me to sound out. I attempted to restore my voice more natural. "Did you look for them at the net shop?" His body stiffened, his back to me remained silent. "Chu Shian," I kept saying. He seemed to sigh, turned to face me, and bended down, stretched out his hand and lightly patting my face, asking, "Does it still hurt?" His hands were beautiful, his joints were definite, yet he now had blue, black, and red marks on them. I opened my mouth, but didn't even have time to release anything before tears burst again, and I felt him tenderly wipe the tears from my face with paper, clumsily repeating to comfort me: "It's okay, it's over." I couldn't settle down; I knew it was embarrassing, but I actually couldn't help it. He sighed and wrapped his arms around me, gently hugging my back and coaxing next to my ear like a baby: "I don't hurt, really." "They're worse than me, I used to practice martial arts, have you forgotten?" "An An,save your tear..." I forgot how long it took me to fall asleep that night, but i did clearly remember that Chu Shian's hug being very warm, the temperature belonging to Chu Shian.
