Chapter 33: The Proctor Will Arrive at the Examination Hall in 30 Seconds

Time flew by quickly; the college entrance exams was fast approaching!

For many students, if they could successfully conquer the entrance exam, then no matter how miserable and difficult their senior year was, it would be a perfect GG.

For the past three months, Yu Luocheng didn't play games much. Occasionally on weekends, he would play with Yang Qianqian. Yet, those were basically easy wins for him.

Yang Qianqian probably used to be defeated by other players before, ever since she teamed up with Yu Luocheng, her confidence exploded because they hardly ever lost. Sometimes she would even ask Yu to play a couple of rounds with her during weekdays.

Yu Luocheng was puzzled. She played a lot yet she still kept her grades high. She would rank ahead of him in every monthly exam.

June 7th, it was overcast that day, it looked like it would rain any minute.

Yu Luocheng put on his shoulder bag, tied his shoelaces, and was ready to go to college entrance exam.

Li Yun came out from behind and began to scold him, “You need to bring an umbrella. What if it rains?”

“Oh.” Yu Luocheng took the proffered umbrella.

In truth, he didn't make a habit of taking an umbrella with him. It wasn't because that he didn't mind being soaked, rather it was because everytime he brought the umbrella with him, he, as well as many young people, would always come home without it.

“Nevermind, I'll call and tell them I'll be late for work today. I'll go with you.” Li Yun wasn't comfortable having him go by himself. She ran back into the house and got changed.

“Mom, You don't have to.” Yu Luocheng didn't want his mom to go with him.

It was just the entrance exam; it was no big deal.

In the end, Li Yun accompanied Yu Luocheng to the examination hall.

When they came downstairs, a black Audi drove out of the house next door.

The window of the Audi slowly rolled down as the car passed Yu Luocheng's house.

“Li Yun, are you taking Luocheng to the exam?” The middle-aged man inside the window asked with a smile.

“Yes.” Li Yun answered.

“Get into the car. I'm taking my Guijun to the exam hall. The entrance exam is very important. If anything happens on the way, it would be too bad to be late for the exam.” The middle-aged man said.

“......” Yu Luocheng was speechless.

There was more than an hour till the exam. It wouldn't take him more than half of an hour to reach there by just walking. Did they need to be this nervous about it?

“It would be too much trouble for you.” Li Yun politely said.

“No trouble at all. It's on the way.” The middle-aged man said.

Li Yun didn't insist; it was certainly nice to get a free ride.

They got in the car. The one who sat on the passenger seat was Zhang Guijun, a typical rich kid.

He wasn't good at studying and a bit arrogant. Though they were neighbors, they would only exchange greetings when running into each other on the street.

“Guijun, Luocheng, you two have to do good on this exam. See how our parents are worried about you guys.” Uncle Zhang said while driving.

Yu Luocheng and Zhang Guijun only perfunctorily responded.

Li Yun sat inside the comfortable car and spoke to Yu Luocheng in a low voice, “Xiao Cheng, you have to take the exam seriously. If you can get into a top university, then you will have a good job. We will be able to afford a car like Uncle Zhang. Look at your dad, he works in the factory a whole week and only gets to go home every Friday if he can catch that crowded bus. Sometimes he's late and misses the bus, then he has to stay at the factory on the hard wood bed. You know he likes to watch TV, but there's no TV at the factory. Imagine how miserable he is staying at the factory the whole week.”

Li Yun sighed. Seeing the clean and comfortable car, she said with envy, “If we have a car, then your dad can come home whenever he wants. Who cares about the factory dormitory.”

“En. I'll do my best.” Yu Luocheng nodded. He didn't know what else to say.

“It's not easy for your dad. When you went to do professional esports without his permission and missed school for more than a year, he couldn't eat, nor sleep. After you came back, though he always gives you the poker face, but he's actually quite pleased. He even spent quite a lot of money to get you to transfer from that so-so school to the best one around here. Fortunately, your grades are getting better…...ai, I shouldn't say all of this.” Li Yun stopped when she realized that what she was saying would put a lot of pressure on Yu Luocheng.

Yu Luocheng listened to Li Yun and nodded slightly. “I know.”

“We know that you are aware of all this. You are more mature than the other kids……” Li Yun smiled, the lines around her eyes could be seen clearly.

Yu Luocheng looked out and suddenly saw a familiar figure pass by.

“I think I saw dad. He's riding a scooter.” Yu Luocheng pressed against the window trying to look back.

“He's at work, how could he have the time? Besides, where did he get the scooter?” Li Yun said.

“That's true.” Yu Luocheng thought about it and he was pretty sure that he had been mistaken.

When they were near the school, traffic was jammed everywhere!

Usually a high schooler wouldn't come to school riding in a family car, after all this was a time that people resented the rich……

However, for the entrance exam, all kinds of cars showed up.

Their car couldn't get near the school; Yu Luocheng, Li Yun, and Zhang Guijun got off the car and walked rest of the way to school.

The parents who were riding scooters were much more mobile now!

All the BMWs and Benzs could only watch all the scooters fly by!

“Mom's going now. I'll come to get you after you're done.” Li Yun said.

“It's too much trouble. I can get home myself.” Yu Luocheng said.

“It's alright, it's alright.”

Yu Luoheng walked into the school and casually greeted a few familiar faces he met along the way.

All the students were taking the exam in randomly assigned classrooms. Yu Luocheng had visited his test room during the rehearsal. He had no trouble finding his room.

Inside the usual sound of laughter was absent, most of the people had quite a serious expression.

There were one or two still pretending to be light hearted, but one of them kept looking at his watch.

Yu Luocheng sat on his own seat. He didn't know anyone else in the room; so he just waited quietly.

He checked the time; it was almost the time.

He saw the proctors walking by. Suddenly, he thought he heard a voice in his head:

“The proctors will arrive at the examination hall in 30 seconds. Crush them!”

It was something Yu Luocheng had seen online and it fit his current situation perfectly. He couldn't help smile and the nervousness seemed to dissipate at the moment.

The guy sitting next to Yu Luocheng glanced at Yu and found a silly smile plastered over his face. The guy thought to himself:

A person who could smile so goofily now could only be either a genius or a fool! To be on the safe side, it would be better not to copy his answers!
