Chapter 31: Leaving Without Saying Goodbye

Yu Luocheng was baffled why Yi Qin had changed into another person after the phone call.

What made her mood swing so drastically? Was it really from her ex-boyfriend?

Yu Luocheng thought back about the tone of his voice just now and realized that it really sounded like he was blaming her.

He didn't mean to, but he had a chance to compete with professionals after playing amateurly for so long.  He did have some complaints about Yi Qin's mindlessness…… Deep down, he was still a professional esports player who refused to be defeated after all.

Yu Luocheng carefully thought it through and decided he better apologize.

Unknowingly, he had asked Yi Qin to play like a professional in the last few rounds. Yet in reality, too much talk would only distract his teammate and make her more irritable……

“Yiyi, I'm sorry…...I was too serious about the game.” Yu Luocheng said.

“Yiyi, say something.”

Yiyi jie, I have called you jiejie already. Don't be like this. I'm apologizing here……”

“Darn, when did she get off voice chat!”

Yu Luocheng suddenly discovered that the he was the only one in the voice chat after pleading.

“Player ‘Xue Yi Yi' has left the game!”

A line of bright red words suddenly appeared on screen.

What was going on?

Yu Lucheng, stunned, quickly sent a QQ message to Yi Qin.

“Yiyi, what's wrong?” Yu Luocheng hurriedly asked.

Inside the apartment, Yi Qin looked at the message on QQ.

The icon was a picture of an animated cow with two large hearts for eyes.

The icon had accompanied Yi Qin through many lonely hours; times when she was misunderstood, times when she was neglected……

She had been always chatting with him with written words, yet she had found endless pleasure from their conversation in those written words. A lot of times, Yi Qin would laugh till she bent over by the line of words on the computer.

“Good bye.” Yi Qin silently said goodbye in her mind and without responding to Yu Luocheng, she turned off QQ.

“Ai, look at you. Still playing games at this hour. Your dad told me to come help you pack. A grown-up who still doesn't know how to pack.” A woman walked into Yi Qin's room from outside.

The moment she turned off QQ, Yi Qin felt like she had lost contact with all of her friends.

Classmates, colleagues, close friends, esports friends, online friends, and an old partner who she had known for a long, long time……

Yi Qin couldn't stop her tears when she thought about all of them at once.

“Xiao Qin, don't cry, don't cry.” The woman saw tears form in her daughter's eyes and hurriedly came to her side to comfort her.

“It'll be alright. You'll get used to it after a while. You'll have new friends in America. Your uncles and cousins are all there, you won't be bored. They will take you to New York, Washington DC, and Los Angeles. You like esports; there's a gorgeous esports competition arena in Los Angeles and you can visit there if you are still into it……” The woman considerately consoled her.

“En.” Yi Qin nodded.

She told herself that she could still play games in America, talk with all her friends on the phone, she just couldn't see them in person……

And it didn't matter since it would be just a couple of years.

She made a promise to herself that this would simply be a short departure and she would bring back something that the esports circle needed the most! !

“Alright, come pack now. Don't irritate your dad anymore. He only wants to give you a even better environment.” The woman said.

In the park at Le City, along the bank of a lake, rows of willow trees swayed their long hairs, like gracefully dancing girls……

Walking under the fluttering willow catkins and seeing the floating willow leaves on the lake, Yu Luocheng was unsettled.

What happened to Yiyi?

Did he really anger her so badly?

Yu Luocheng sat on the bench. The first time he voice chatted with her, which was something he had looked forward to for quite some time, ended up this way. Wasn't it upsetting?

However, in the past, no matter how angry Yiyi had gotten, she would never simply get offline  without a word.

She really wasn't herself today.

“I should have noticed her mood change today.” Yu Luocheng shook his head with a bitter smile.

The appearance of Qinguangwang switched the focus Yu Luocheng had on the game.

Come to think of it, there were several occasions when Yi Qin tried to switch the topic to herself, yet he always said things like “watch where you're going”, “they're going to attack”, or “watch out for the hook” so she couldn't continue.

Suddenly, Yu Luocheng had a bad feeling.

“Nevermind, maybe it'll be over in a little while.” Yu Luocheng comforted himself and slowly walked back home.

He didn't feel like playing games after he got home. He just lied on the bed staring at the ceiling, greatly perplexed.

At a night market in Shanghai.

Shanghai's night market is always filled with the smell of grilled food and beer.

It usually isn't tidy, yet it provides an inexpensive and tasty enjoyment for the masses.

The wealthier will laze about in the afternoon holding a cup of coffee, surrounded by elegant music.

The normal people will enjoy the comfort of eating grilled food with beer and bathing in the evening breeze!

Members of Team Hell all knew that their coach wasn't a rich person. Usually he couldn't afford to treat them in those big restaurants and would buy them dinner at those small shops or night market grill stands. The team members also enjoyed the atmosphere of eating and drinking on the sidewalk after training for a whole day.

Qinguangwang and the yellow haired Cuipanguan were the last two to arrive. Everyone else was already there; all together there were eight of them.

“Hey, you guys played quick. Have you really killed them 20 times?” The man with a sports shirt laughed watching the two walking over.

Qinguangwang and Cuipanguan sat down and glanced over at the young coach.

Their coach, Huang Kang, was the earliest founder of Team Hell.

He was now 28 years old and used to a professional player. Esports was for young people, the coach retired to become an esports coach since his reaction time had grown slower and slower.

From player to coach, it's a similar path as many national athletes.

The difference is that retired national athletes enjoyed government subsidy while retired esports players don't.

“Coach, we just met a very skilled player.” Cuipanguan was the first to speak.

Everyone was looking at him.

He was the youngest among them and prided himself on his skill at playing LoL. He rarely admitted that the other side was an expert.

For him to label another an expert meant the other guy must have been better than him at least in some aspects!

“Really? Tell me about it.” The coach was very interested.

“Let me tell you.” Qinguangwang said.

Qingguangwang briefly described the battles they just finished.

Qinguangwang reconstructed the fine details of the moves since he knew the game well and understood the skillful maneuvers of his opponent.  They were moves that only a expert player like himself could perform.

“Too bad we only played against him during the early game. Later on, we don't know what happened, Yi Qin jie backed out of the game and then he left too. If we could find out how he plays during the mid game and fought in late game team fights……”

“Have you taped it?”

“I have. I'll play it for everyone later on. Several of his maneuvers are especially brilliant. Wugaun, you should watch it extra carefully since you play support too.” Qinguangwang said.

Qinguangwang would record every single game he played. It was a habit that the coach wanted everyone to have so they could review their own performance.

“En. Let's watch it after dinner.” Huang Kang nodded.

The Team Hell needed more professional players. If they discovered talented players who had the potential, Huang Kang was very willing to recruit them into the world of professional esports.
