Chapter 3 Wang Xin Yan

The girl stop nudging Lin Yi’s leg and resumed listening to her MP3.

“Songsan Station. Passengers who are getting off please get ready. The train will be stopping at this station for 15 mins.” When Lin Yi heard the broadcast he began to prepare himself to leave the train.

Surprisingly, the girl beside him was also packing her belongings into her bag. Apparently she was also leaving at Songsan Station.

Lin Yi glanced at the girl when she stood up and verified that she was around 1.65m tall.

When Lin Yi left the train, he was awed by the gorgeous structure of the train station. It had been 10 year since he visited this place. The change of Songsan was tremendous.

“Excuse me!”  A sweet voice called out to Lin Yi. He stopped and turned towards the direction came from.

The source of the voice was the girl who sat beside him in the train. She waved her hands as she rushed towards him.

“What is it?” Lin Yi was quite good looking, but he wasn’t naïve enough to think that the girl would fall in love with him at first sight, especially with his current villager outfit – dull yellow pants and white shirt. He looked just like a farmer who came to the city to look for a job.

“Are you sure you want to exchange that for the prize money?” said the girl fumingly. She was angry since Lin Yi ignored her warnings back then on the train.

“Oh, you mean this?” Lin Yi took out the can ring and casually threw it onto the street floor.

“AH?!” This time it was the girl’s turn to be dumbfounded. She had never expected Lin Yi to do such a thing.

“You …..Did you just throw it away?” exclaimed the girl as she pointed at Lin Yi with her mouth wide open.

“You knew that was a fake???” When the girl heard what Lin Yi said, she was stunned. As she stared at Lin Yi, numerous questions flashed in her mind. What’s going on? He bought it even though he knew it was a fake? Is he crazy? In her eyes, Lin Yi didn’t look like one of the weird rich people who look for something to pass time.

“Of course I knew. Even if I didn’t, you reminded me back then on the train!” said Lin Yi.

“If that’s the case, why did you still give them the money?” The girl was now very curious about what kind of person he was.

A smile broke on Lin Yi’s face. He put down his bag, unzipped it and showed it to the girl.

The girl glanced at Lin Yi once before bowing her head to look at what was in the bag. To her surprise, there were 7-8 stacks of money.

“Are you very rich? Even if you are, you should not be that wasteful. ” The girl misunderstood Lin Yi and thought that he was showing off to her.

“This is the money I earned just now. ” Said Lin Yi

“The money from just now? What do you mean? ” The girl was very confused, “Do you mean you took back the money? But wasn’t there only 49k? There was at least 70-80k here right? ”

“That’s because I also took the bespectacled man’s 30k when I took my money back. He had no idea what happened.” Said Lin Yi as he shrugged his shoulder. Such trifling stuff was nothing to Lin Yi. It was easy as pie to him.

“Ah? ” This time, the girl was seriously dumbfounded! Lin Yi was not crazy, he is just too skilled. Not only did he retrieve his money, but also the scammer’s money.

“What is with you expression? Don’t tell me you want to report my theft?? Your sense of justice is pretty strong” Lin Yi smiled and started to tease the girl who was showing a dumbfounded face.

“Of course not,” The girl blushed and started shaking her head.

“Anyway, I am really grateful to you for your help. Nowadays there are not a lot of girls like you out there.” Lin Yi said sincerely, “May I invite you to a meal?”

“No thanks …..” The girl shook her head, “My family is waiting for me at the lobby.”

When Lin Yi heard her rejection, he did not insist. He knew that the art of wooing a girl was a very sensitive issue. The Time Place Opportunity (TPO) must be right. If you are too forceful, it may turn out really bad. ”Oh, sorry then for taking up your time”

Wang Xin Yan (the girl’s name) stared at Lin Yi’s back view as he walk away. She shook her head and thought, if my mother was not waiting for me outside, I wouldn’t mind hanging out with Lin Yi.

That didn’t mean she harbored feelings for Lin Yi. It was simply because he was just too different. To have so much money in his bag and not store in the bank. Even though his clothes were very old fashioned, but he had a strange temperament.

“Sir, are you looking for lodgings? It is cheap …..”

The moment Lin Yi exited the train station, he was surrounded by the hotel hustlers. Farmers are the main customers of these small hotels. The rich will not even consider these small hotels, and those large hotel do not even need hustlers.

Lin Yi wave his hands to reject their offers, squeezed out of the hustler’s encirclement and proceeded towards the taxi stand. Lin Yi held onto a piece paper that contained the address given him by Gramps.

He boarded a taxi and the driver ask him passionately: “Where to?. ”

“To this address.” Said Lin Yi as he passed the piece of paper to the taxi driver.

The taxi driver always hung out around the train station. So he knew that Lin Yi was not local, and was probably here to look for a job. He wanted to cheat some money from Lin Yi since he wasn’t familiar with the roads. But when he saw what was written on the piece of paper, his face turned green.

Written on the paper was, “Songsan City, 36th Promising Road, Peng Zhan building. Distance from train station: 11.2km, Take the New Bi-Ring Bridge Route.”

How was he going to cheat his money? Not only was the route stated, but also the distance to the destination. Why was he going to Peng Zhan Building? That is one of biggest companies in Songsan City, and it was definitely not somewhere a farmer should be. Did he know someone inside??

The taxi driver sighed, placed the paper aside and started driving honestly.

Songsan’s traffic was very good and there were a lot of bridges, so it did not take long before Lin Yi reach his destination. He paid the 24 dollar taxi fare and exited.

Looking at the towering building in front of him, Lin Yi felt a bit light-headed. It looked like it was even taller than the mountain near his house. It seems like the client was indeed a wealthy individual. Maybe Gramps was telling the truth after all.

Then Lin Yi started wondering whether he would survive the fall if he jumped down from the top floor. Although he did end up with a lot bruises and have to bedridden for a few days, he did survive the fall from the top of the mountain when Gramps threw him down.

Lin Yi double checked the address and the building’s name to make sure he was at the right place before walking towards the building.
