School Beauty Personal Bodyguard Chapter 297-298

Chapter 297 - Guan Xin's Thoughts

"Tell Old Qin to let you home early- come back earlier today." Xuemin said pleasantly.

"Come back? Did something happen?" Guan Xin was stunned- her grandfather really wasn't aware of what had happened, he didn't even know she was already coming home early today.

"A friend's coming over tonight, he's the remarkable young man I told you about!" Xuemin laughed. "I'll introduce him to you! He's around your age, the two of you should have common topics to talk about."

"Oh……" Guan Xin lost interest upon hearing what this was about… Lin Yi's shadow started forming in her mind again……

Xuemin only assumed that Guan Xin was feeling shy from her response. "It's settled then! Have Aunt Liu buy some ingredients for you to cook tonight. Make sure to leave a good impression!"

Aunt Liu was the nanny of the Guan family, in charge of cooking and looking after Xuemin when needed.

Guan Xin wasn't too willing, but she couldn't just say no when the person was someone her grandfather respected. Getting to know him should be fine, but going beyond that… Guan Xin didn't want to be thinking about that kind of stuff yet.

Lin Yi parked the car in the food street behind the school- he was just getting out when a fierce man came at him. "Yo, kid! Don't park your car here, it's for a stand!"

The fierce man was a stinky tofu vendor, and the spot Lin Yi was parking belonged to his little brother's stand.

Lin Yi frowned, not expecting this. Did the guy think the food street was his family's business or something? Even the traffic police didn't prohibit parking here.

The fierce man understood immediately that he'd fucked up when Lin Yi raised his head.

"Master Lin…… It's fine, just park here! It's fine, It's fine!" The fierce man remembered vividly how Lin Yi had dealt with Zhang Biaoqian… This wasn't the kind of person he dared cross.

Lin Yi shook his head, slightly amused. What a face-changer this guy was. "Then I'll park here from now on? I'll be parking here every day?"

"No problem, Master Lin! I'll have my little brother change his spot! No way we'd interfere with Master Lin's parking! Don't worry, I'll make sure to look after your car, make sure no one scratches it!" The fierce man said with a pat on his chest.

Having his brother change his spot was nothing compared to pissing Lin Yi off!!

Lin Yi made it in time for last period- study hall.

Xiaobo leaned forward as Lin Yi seated himself. "Boss, your back! I wanted to talk to you about something……"

"What's up?" Lin Yi looked at Xiaobo.

"Lend me two hundred kuai?" Xiaobo asked, a little embarrassed.

"Two hundred kuai? What for? Seriously, you don't even have two hundred kuai on you now?" Lin Yi asked curiously.

"Heh…… My allowance's a bit stretched this month, I always buy quite a bit of snacks when visiting Fen……" Xiaobo said awkwardly. "We're at the end of the month, right? I'll pay you back when I get my allowance next month!"

"Oh. No need for that, just take it." Lin Yi handed two hundred kuai to Xiaobo- it wasn't too much for Lin Yi.

"I was thinking of getting Fen a cheaper phone- two hundred is enough." Xiaobo said. "It's hard to communicate otherwise."

"Ah……" Lin Yi smiled. "Then keep that two hundred for yourself- I'll pay for the phone. You're giving her a gift, can't look cheap, right?"

"Heh heh, then thanks, boss! I'll repay you when I get rich one day!" Xiaobo didn't reject the offer.

"I need to get a new phone too. I'll buy one for Tang Yin while I'm at it." Lin Yi said. "Let's go to the store tomorrow noon then."

"Sure…… Ah, right- boss, can you show me your phone?" Xiaobo said quietly.

"What for? You wanna look at Chen Yushu or Chu Mengyao?" Lin Yi eyed Xiaobo. "You have Fen already, stop thinking about that stuff!"

"Haha, you got me……" Xiaobo said, a little embarrassed. "It's healthy for the eyes! The three school beauties have nothing to do with me, and it's gonna stay that way…. Tang Yin's my sis-in-law now, no way I can look at her again, right? I only have these ownerless flowers to look at now……"

"Why don't you go study?" Lin Yi said helplessly. "I'm not gonna show you."

"Alright alright, fine!" Xiaobo said. "But boss, tell me honestly, whose phone is this? Why does it look like a girl's? And that Beetle car last time, too, you said it wasn't yours… It looks like a girl's car to me……"

"Well, I'll tell you if you're so curious." Lin Yi said. "The car and phone are actually both Chen Yushu's…… I'm living under the same roof as her now……"

"Ah?" Xiaobo blinked. "Pfft, jeez, whatever if you don't wanna tell me!"

Lin Yi shrugged- most times people didn't believe the truth. Although, this was a good way to get Xiaobo off his back about the whole thing. He'd understand that Lin YI never lied to him if he did manage to find out the truth one day, too.

He really was living under the same roof with Chen Yushu! Yes, and Chu Mengyao, as well. They were just simple roommates, though.

He sent Mengyao a text when school ended, telling her that he had something to take care of tonight. Mengyao, on the other hand, had gotten used to these texts- how come her employee had so many things to take care of??

Guan Xin was getting pretty helpless at how her grandfather kept praising this young man- why couldn't he just adopt him as an unofficial grandson or something? Why did he need her to hang out with him??

Guan Xin had someone on her mind already, how was she supposed to accept anyone else right now? This wasn't something she could just tell her grandpa, however. She made her way to the kitchen a little unwillingly.

So she was supposed to cook a great meal to impress the guy? Come on…… What if the guy started liking her because of that, wouldn't that just cause her more trouble? Guan Xin wondered if it'd be better if she made the food bad…

Yes, that was quite sound! Men usually cared how good their girlfriends were at cooking… All she had to do was make 'poison' for him to eat! See if he'd want to get to the next stage with her then!

Chapter 298 - Guan Xuemin's Thoughts

Guan Xin had been born in the Guan household, a family superpower now on the same playing field with some other big-time houses.

Yet Guan Xin was nowhere near a spoiled miss.

Her parents were always occupied with work. Her father was a shareholder of the hospital, but had his company headquarters located overseas- he rarely came home with Guan Xin's mother.

Guan Xin grew up with her grandfather, and learned from a small age to tidy the house and cook meals. She washed the clothes, and kept the house in beautiful shape. They had a nanny they called Aunt Liu, but Guan Xin never lazed around because of that; she'd always help out whenever Aunt Liu worked the house.

She excelled at cooking, and became known as the Godly Miss Universe of the Kitchen by the neighboring families around the medical school. Her grandfather's rather thick-skinned friends would always drop by for a meal whenever Guan Xin would cook.

With all she had going for her, Guan Xin became the ideal partner for the boys her age, despite the strict teachings of the Guan house posing a barrier between her and those affections. She wasn't allowed to get in a relationship before graduating.

Guan Xin went into society to work upon graduating, and as Guan Xuemin's name went higher and higher in its journey to worldwide fame, the relatives and old friends of the Guan house held back from bringing the topic up…

The family was now considered equal with other families of power- that didn't guarantee that Guan Xin would want to be married into said families, but it didn't change the fact that she was an optimal candidate.

Talk of proposals lessened, much to Guan Xin's relief. She'd only just graduated, and wasn't in the mood for love whatsoever.

Despite that, love was something that hit like a hurricane- there was no stopping it when it did decide to come.

Guan Xin herself was impressed that she's start falling for Lin Yi- she found it surreal and unbelievable, for it was the first time she'd gotten interested in a boy. She'd even thought that her sexual orientation wasn't normal before that happened.

She consoled herself by saying that she'd hit mental puberty late. Although, it didn't seem realistic that she'd get with Lin Yi anymore… She did fantasize about it occasionally, but reality remained for her to face.

The first time she saw Tang Yin, she decided to stop thinking about it, and decided to run.

She realized that she couldn't stop herself from wanting to meet Lin Yi after that decision- she knew it was an unlikely relationship, but still hoped to meet Lin Yi if she could.

Like a moth drawn towards a flame- a shred of recklessness and illogicality, an uncontrollable urge.

"Xin Xin, want Aunt Liu to help?" Aunt Liu's voice sounded from outside the kitchen. She'd tidied up the house, and came over to help Guan Xin out.

"No need, I'll handle it on my own." Guan Xin rejected- she couldn't let Aunt Liu come in and see how she was sabotaging the food.

Aunt Liu didn't think much of the rejection- she knew that Master Guan was having a young man over tonight, and assumed that Guan Xin wanted to make a good impression on him.

How would she demonstrate her skills as the Godly Miss Universe of the Kitchen if someone else meddled with her art??

One had to admit the excellence of Guan Xin's cooking- she couldn't stop the product from smelling and looking good even if she'd messed the taste up with random seasoning.

The aesthetics and scent of the food would make one gulp, but a taste and one would realize how all the dishes were either too sweet, too sour, or too salty. None of the dishes tasted normal.

After all, Guan Xin had made sure to spam random seasoning onto the dishes right before completion.

Xuemin was feeling quite delighted at how busy Guan Xin was in the kitchen. He wondered if Lin Yi would remember this night as a memorable one with his elegant and gentle granddaughter?

He'd pay the Guan house more visits, and his problems and inquiries in medicine would all find their answers! The Guan family would enjoy centuries of fortune and fame should Lin Yi even become his grandson-in-law!

The Guan house was well known in higher society, and well respected by even more titanic houses above the family.

But Guan Xuemin understood that it was all due to his membership in the Guan family!

People respected the house because he was the miracle doctor; nobody was exempt from illnesses and death, and that meant that having a miracle doctor around provided insurance. It was the reason for the Guan family's rise in power.

The Guan family would see a fall when Guan Xuemin passed- without the name of Miracle Doctor Guan, House Guan would be no different from a common household.

Guan Xuemin wasn't one who cared about fame, but he had to take into consideration his children and grandchildren- her granddaughter, especially. He wanted her to find a good home.

It had become a wish of his.

Seeing Lin Yi reminded him of his granddaughter, and he knew that the name of the Guan family would see an increase in fame and strength should Lin Yi get with Guan Xin!

Xuemin now understood that he was no miracle doctor at all compared to Lin Yi! Lin Yi was the miracle doctor! That miracle doctor he'd met twenty years ago… That was a genuine miracle doctor!

His eldest son now lived in the capital, his life full of luxury.

His youngest son busied himself in business with his wife overseas.

He only had Guan Xin with him, and he knew that his two sons would have no problems in life.

His eldest son was nothing special, but he did manage to make quite a living with his father's name all these years, enough for the family to spend their lives in comfort. Xuemin didn't like this eldest son of his too much- he'd decided that a small city like Songshan wasn't worth living in after he entered the upper class. He only came back once every year, and Xuemin was disappointed in him.

His youngest son, on the other hand, came home often- he was a just man, but a bit old-fashioned. He'd relied on his own abilities doing business, and never used Xuemin's name to benefit himself. Yet the common case with a personality like that was that this youngest son wouldn't have found himself in a very good life if it weren't for background and support in society. But the kid was lucky- he'd managed to meet an individual, a character of legendary proportions.

Unfortunately, this legendary character disappeared from everyone's sights during the same time the miracle doctor Xuemin had met did…

"Xin Xin, no need to cook that much! As long as we have enough to eat!"  Xuemin wondered if Guan Xin really had grown up as he watched her fill the table up with dishes- could she perhaps be looking to impress this young man? Had she become concerned with her love life?

"Oh… Almost done, there's just one sweet and sour eel left!" Guan Xin smiled. Hah… sweet and sour eel. She couldn't wait to serve this mustard eel to that young visitor.
