School Beauty Personal Bodyguard Chapter 295-296

Chapter 295 - Giving Away

The two were simply not a good match for each other- they were around the same age, but they had different statuses. It wouldn't work.

Tang Yin, on the other hand, was the obvious fit for Lin Yi. Their futures would look bright together if they even got into the same college.

Guan Xin sighed, feeling down. It was the first time she'd felt something towards a guy, too…

"He's not my boyfriend at all……" Tang Yin was getting embarrassed by Guan Xin's apology.

"Haha." Guan Xin laughed. This girlfriend of Lin Yi's was pretty interesting.

The laughter only put Tang Yin into even more embarrassment. "Guan Xin sis! What're you laughing at! It's true! You take him if you want!"

"Take him? Why would you get to give him to me if he's not your boyfriend, then?" Guan Xin teased.

Guan Xin wasn't too experienced herself- she was still a child in front of her family and friends, and in the hospital as well, but Tang Yin was two years younger than her. It was only natural that she'd feel like an older sister in front of her, since she was a little more mature than Tang Yin was, too.

"I……" Tang Yin paused- it was true! Where did she get off giving Lin Yi away if he didn't belong to her in the first place?

Lin Yi smiled bitterly from the side. Was he some sort of product? Why were these girls talking about giving and taking him??

"Miss Guan Xin, right? Please come with us for a testimony." Lingshan frowned as she walked over, her eyes on the nurse who had just pulled away from Lin Yi. So even this pretty nurse had something to do with Lin Yi?

"Is there something wrong with your brain?" Lin Yi turned to her. "Can't you see what that dumbass did to her neck?"

Dumbass? Lingshan couldn't help but smile bitterly in her head- only Lin Yi would call the Huang Guanya a dumbass… She'd been treating him as a formidable threat all this while, and here was Lin Yi, writing him off as a dumbass.

Yet there wasn't much Lingshan could say to that- Lin Yi did take care of Guanya within a few seconds, at the end of the day… For him, at least, Guanya really had been a dumbass.

But what was that comment about her brain?! Did Lin Yi have to speak with such toxicity? It wasn't the first time he'd commented about her brain like that, too.

"What did you say, Lin Yi?" Lingshan glared. "You need to come with us for a testimony, too! You killed someone, did you maybe realize that?"

"I saved the day!" LIn Yi shrugged. "And you were the one who told me to kill him."

"If you didn't want that, then why'd you ask if I'd found a chance to take him down?" Lin Yi curled his lips, not too interested in arguing over something this meaningless with Lingshan… But the tigress really was being annoying, and he needed to respond to her.

"You……" Lingshan was getting irritated as well. "I asked that after you came out!"

"Okay, but that still means that you wanted me to kill him." Lin Yi said. "Why'd you give me that look when I was going in, then? Something wrong with your eyes? Was there something wrong with your face??"

"You……" Lingshan's glare reminded Lin Yi of a tigress'- it looked like she wanted to eat him alive.

Lingshan, on the other hand, thought that Lin Yi was a cruel joke God had sent her way! He was always messing with her!

Wangli was watching from afar- he turned from the raging Lingshan to the nurse who seemed to have an ambiguous relationship with Lin Yi. He wondered if a love triangle wasn't enough… Maybe it had evolved into a love square..?

"Alright, enough with the 'you's. You owe me another one! I'll go to you for the licence plate this afternoon, wait for me." With that, Lin Yi turned back to Guan Xin, not bothering with Lingshan anymore. "Go get your neck treated- there's still blood coming out."

"Okay……" Guan Xin was a nurse, and naturally understood her injury herself. Her skin got cut a little, it wasn't a big deal.

The police then took her away for a testimony after she'd treated the wound. Lingshan, on the other hand, wondered if she should ask Lin Yi to come along as well. She decided that she'd ask him to do the testimony when he came to her for the licence plate later that afternoon.

Lin Yi reached for Tang Yin's hand on their way back to Fen's room, but Tang Yin moved it away fidgetly.

"When're you gonna keep your promise?" Lin Yi grinned.

"What promise?" Tang Yin paused.

"The quick kiss." Lin Yi replied.

"Maybe next time!" Tang Yin rolled her eyes at Lin Yi- that courage she had had had long been ruined by Guan Xin. There was no way she could kiss Lin Yi now.

"Can I kiss you then?" Lin Yi, naturally, understood why Tang Yin was upset.

"Go die!" Tang Yin wouldn't agree to that.

"Ah……" Lin Yi wasn't thinking of rushing anything. He looked at the time after entering Fen's room- it was almost time for class.

Xiaobo was saying goodbye to Fen, who still hadn't made her decision about the birthday feast yet. She was apparently still considering it.

Xiaobo didn't rush her.

The four walked out of the hospital and got a cab. Lin Yi was dropped off near the villa area- he had told the group that he had the licence plate thing to sort out that afternoon.

Lin Yi skipping class had become a common occurrence at this point- no one minded anymore. Tang Yin couldn't do much about that, as well- such were the likes of Young Master Lin: it was impossible to get him to study at school like a good student.

Lin Yi drove the van to the police station- there was no licence plate on it, and Lin Yi found himself quite lucky that he didn't bump into any traffic police. He'd have to call Lingshan again otherwise.

Lingshan was quite troubled in her office- Bojia had been saved, but his condition had yet to be stabilized. There was no telling when he'd wake up.

The psycho murderer case lacked clues, and it'd be really bad if the last trace died here. Lingshan was quite pressured- she wondered if she was fit for her current position in the first place.

She never said anything mocking to Lin Yi when he arrived- she couldn't really piss Lin Yi off anymore… She used to rely on Huaijun for cases, and Lin Yi had basically assumed that role now…

Why was she so useless?! Couldn't she crack her case with her own abilities? It was something that had been on Lingshan's mind that she couldn't do anything about.

She copied down the van's model number and engine number, and managed to get the details after a call. It was a vehicle registered at a second-hand car company.

It was confirmed that it hadn't been stolen- Heibao had bought it for ten thousand kuai, telling the owner of the company that he'd do the registration a few days later.

Chapter 296 - Date Tonight

Yet Heibao never got back to him- the owner was unable to reach Heibao's phone as well.

Lingshan didn't bother explaining after hearing what the owner had said- she had him come to the police station directly to go over the registration process with Lin Yi. She didn't want to trouble herself over anything as long as the car wasn't stolen property.

"Alright, now that that's done, why don't you come with me for your testimony?" Lingshan said, pulling out her notebook.

"Forget about that, make one up yourself. It's gonna be your credit anyway, I don't wanna be involved." Lin Yi said.

"I can't do that." Lingshan rejected. Lin Yi had taken Guanya down in front of so many people- there was no way she could just take credit for what he did. What would people say about her?

"Lemme make a phone call first." Lin Yi turned away and called Huaijun, handing the phone to Lingshan after talking with him a bit. "Here."

Lingshan took over the phone, not looking too happy with the orders Huaijun was giving her. She complied anyway. "Understood, Captain Yang!"

Lingshan handed the phone back to Lin Yi with a frown- what exactly was Huaijun's relationship with Lin YI? Yang Huaijun was an absolutely just man, yet that image started to crumble ever since Lin Yi got involved with him.

"Alright, you can go now." Lingshan said crisply. If even Huaijun told her that the credit was due to her, then fine- everyone in the criminal police used to be subordinates to Huaijun, and no one would say anything against Huaijun's decree.

"If you wanna be all business like that next time then stop asking me for help." Lin Yi was getting a little angry- he was helping her for free, what was with her attitude??

Lingshan eyed Lin Yi, but didn't say anything. Who did the guy think he was, did he think he was invincible? She decided that she'd endure this until the day Lin Yi found himself in a tight spot that he couldn't handle- she'd let him have it when that happened.

Lin Yi, on the other hand, wasn't looking for anything from Lingshan. To him, it simply didn't matter that much.

He walked out of the police station to see a fat man with big ears looking around at the entrance.

"Mister Wang?" Lin Yi walked over.

"Yes, that's me." Wang Mingri greeted with a big smile on his face. "You're Captain Song's friend, yes? Let's go over the registration process now?"

"Ah, let's do it now. I'll thank Mister Wang in advance." Lin Yi nodded.

Mingri knew that Lin Yi wasn't the guy who purchased the car that day, but the captain of the criminal police had phoned in personally- it should be fine. Captain Song wouldn't want to scam ten thousand kuai from him anyway, and Mingri finished the procedure with Lin Yi without asking for details.

He even left Lin Yi a name card before he left, telling him to give him a call should he ever want to buy a car in the future- he'd be able to help out be it a new or second-hand car.

Lin Yi thanked him as he took the name card. He then got in the van, heading for school.

It was his private property now anyway, and he didn't have to inform Mengyao of his status all the time if he was driving himself.

He hadn't reached the school yet when his phone rang- it was Guan Xuemin's number.

"Grandpa Guan?" Lin Yi said.

"Little Yi? Are you busy right now?" Xuemin's voice sounded from the other end.

"Nope, just driving to school. What's up, Grandpa Guan?" Lin Yi asked.

"Are you free tonight? My grand-daughter's taken a leave for tomorrow, I'm having her prepare some dishes… The two of us could have a drink or two?" It'd been so long since Xuemin discussed medicine with Lin Yi…

Lin Yi wasn't coming to his doorstep either- he had to be a little shameless and take the initiative to call Lin Yi if he wanted to meet him.

"Tonight? That works." Lin Yi had wanted to talk about building a company with Xuemin as well, but didn't really manage to find the time for it. He naturally wouldn't reject Xuemin's offer now that the guy had called himself.

"Tonight it is then! I'll be waiting at home for you then." Xuemin was quite happy that Lin Yi was visiting tonight.

"Of course- I'll make sure not to be late." Lin Yi laughed.

Xuemin hung up and dialed his grand-daughter Guan Xin up.

Gua Xin had just finished her testimony, and was given a few days off from work by the director to rest.

Guan Xin telling the police to ignore her and save the patient had spread throughout the hospital at that point- even the media had sent over reporters.

Director Qin was very pleased- his face had a huge smile on it as he greeted the reporters! After all, reporters nowadays liked to write negative news about the hospital, and it irritated the director quite a lot.

No one would say anything bad about the hospital now- their nurses prioritized the patient's life over their own when their lives were at risk!

Other than that were the details of Guanya's death, which no one knew about except for the police involved. The spectators had only watched from afar, and while they did hear Guan Xin's words, no one knew that it had been Lin Yi who took Guanya out.

Guan Xin's father and grandfather were both important figures in the medical world, yet Director Qin couldn't quite find an excuse to look out for her.

Yet he was sure that he'd be able to get away promoting Guan Xin with no repercussions from the public now- who else would he look after, if not a nurse this excellent?

He had decided to host a meeting during Guan Xin's break- it was time to make adjustments to Guan Xin's position. Wasn't that old head of the nurse department retiring soon? He was thinking that he could have Guan Xin take the position of vice-head nurse first.

As for how much higher Guan Xin would be able to climb… That would have to depend on her from now on.

Guan Xin had just walked out the hospital when her phone rang- it was her grandpa. Had her grandfather found out about her getting hurt?

Guan Xin frowned and mentally cursed at whoever told her grandfather this- what an ass kisser and tattletale! She'd even told Director Qin specifically not to let her father and grandfather know about this, so why was her grandfather calling so soon??

"Grandpa……" Guan Xin picked the phone up with uncertainty.

"Xin Xin! You don't have work tomorrow, do you?" Xuemin said with a smile.

"I don't, why..?" Guan Xin paused- her grandfather didn't seem to know about what had happened earlier? She exhaled in relief.
