XuanRong slowly opened her eyes under the blanket and sighed. She pulled down the blanket covering her head and sat up on the bed.
Seeing that XuanRong was already awake, YuYing immediately grabbed a wet cloth and gave it to XuanRong.
"XiaoJie, Zou mama told this servant to wake XiaoJie up and help XiaoJie prepare for your wedding."
Hearing YuYing's words, XuanRong nodded without saying anything. After she was done wiping her face, she then gave the wet cloth to YuYing and stood up.
"What time is it?" XuanRong asked as she started walking towards the door where the bathroom was connected.
"It's already the hour of the Tiger[1]. Since there many things to prepare for XiaoJie's wedding, Zou Mama gad no choice but to wake you up before the hour of the Rabbit[2]."
Hearing YuYing's explanation, XuanRong nodded. It made sense. Since the Imperial Marriage was only announced recently, they only have a limited time of seven days to prepare everything. Aside from that, the wedding would start at the hour of Horse[3]. Dressing up would take a long time.
YuYing noticed that XuanRong's energy was low, as if she was not a person who would get married a couple of hours later. Looking at the haggard face of XuanRong as if she was not able to have an ample of rest last night, YuYing's heart was filled with pity. Her XiaoJie's life was full of hardship and as her personal maidservant, she could not do anything to help her XiaoJie. Her XiaoJie sacrificed a lot and endured everything. It would have been better if they did not return to the capital.
In YuYing's heart, XuanRong was like a star in the sky, only those who would look up and stare at her know that she was shining. Her XiaoJie deserved more. Sensing the confusion in YuYing's voice, XuanRong sighed.
Indeed.
