It was a sketch of a small beautifully structured two-story house, with a small garden.

Chen Yinghu took a look and returned the phone to Lin Chuyan: “Tsk, you designed this yourself?”

“En.”

“Why are you fussing with this stuff? It's like a girl thing.”

“It's a gift.”

“For whom?”

Lin Chuyan twitched the corner of his lips and the looks in his eyes became gentle: “Xiang Nuan.”

Chen Yinghu didn't bother asking any more questions. Lin Chuyan's look of affection only made him hurt more.

Lin Chuyan stayed at Chen Yinghu's place for a week, after Chen Yinghu had recovered somewhat from his initial state of distress.

He had also successfully built the miniature house. He had even gone to find clean pebbles to put in the garden and sowed grass seeds.

Lin Chuyan even made a wooden fish for Chen Yinghu with the leftover wood.

“What's the meaning of this!” Chen Yinghu wasn't very happy. “You saying I should become a monk?”

Lin Chuyan then modified the wooden fish; turning it over and hollowing it out to make it into a wooden bowl. He also turned the mallet for striking the wooden fish into a spoon.

Chen Yinghu had to admit that Lin Chuyan was extremely flexible.

“I have to leave now.” Lin Chuyan told him: “School starts today.”

Chen Yinghu nodded: “I'll see you off.”

Chen Yinghu finally was willing to step out of his apartment.

The two of them were in the airport for quite some time because Lin Chuyan's flight was delayed. They ate an unforgettable dinner at the airport.

The dinner was unforgettable because it was very salty.

When Lin Chuyan's flight landed at Nanshan Airport, it was already past nine o'clock at night. He took a taxi to Yuanchi campus.

It was 10:30 in the evening when Xiang Nuan received a phone call from Lin Chuyan.

“Hello, Lin Chuyan.” When Xiang Nuan spoke his name, she didn't know why but she was a little emotional. Ever since Lin Chuyan had gone to keep Chen Yinghu company, he hadn't contacted her as often as before and stopped playing games with her. It was as if he was deliberately giving her the cold shoulder.

Xiang Nuan even dreamt one time that Lin Chuyan told her the person he really liked was Hu Ge. Xiang Nuan immediately woke up from the shock.

Lin Chuyan: “Come out.” His words were simple and direct.

Xiang Nuan was confused: “Eh?”

“I'm downstairs, outside your dorm.”

Xiang Nuan ran to the balcony to look down and saw him right away. The street lights stretched his shadow down the sidewalk. Lin Chuyan was also looking up at Xiang Nuan's direction and it seemed he had noticed her.

A warm feeling filled Xiang Nuan's heart. She put on a down jacket over her pajamas and ran down the stairs with her slippers.

She slowed down when she saw him and walked towards him step by step. He looked worn out and had a suitcase standing next to him. He was holding a box in his hand.

Lin Chuyan watched her come towards him, her face becoming clearer and clearer. His heart was throbbing.

When she drew near, he looked her from top to bottom, noticing her down jacket and her pajama pants with tiny pink hearts prints. Finally, his eyes stayed at her thin naked ankles.

“You don't have money to buy socks?” He asked.

“No……” Xiang Nuan was embarrassed. She began to feel the cold around her ankles after he reminded her. She asked him: “Lin Chuyan, it's late, what are you up to?” It was just a normal conversation, but her heartbeat quickened.

Lin Chuyan handed her a square box.

The box was huge, larger than a birthday cake. It was wrapped in gift wrap. Xiang Nuan didn't know what was inside.

“What is this?” Xiang Nuan took the box and asked.

“The thing you wanted.”

“What thing did I want?”

“Take a look yourself.”
