‘Gu Jiao Wu, do you know what you’re saying?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked. ‘Do you know who I am? I’m Qiao Tan Yuan! The person you hate the most. If you hate me then why are you saying you love me?’

‘Qiao Tan Yuan, in the past you were a hateful,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘I did hate you. But now I…’

‘Now you love me?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked. ‘Do you think I’ll believe you?’

‘Why don’t you believe me?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked.

‘Xiao Bao?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked. She picked up a pillow, and threw it at Gu Jiao Wu’s face. ‘Gu Jiao Wu, go to hell!’

Qiao Tan Yuan turned around to leave. Gu Jiao Wu turned her back around, and he pressed their warm chests together.

‘Gu Jiao Wu, you AH!’ Qiao Tan Yuan cursed. ‘If you want Xiao Bao, I’m giving you Xiao Bao. Let me go!’

‘Qiao Tan Yuan, listen to me,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

Gu Jiao Wu didn’t know how Qiao Tan Yuan could be so impatient.

‘I’m not listening,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said. She covered her ears. ‘I don’t want to hear you say anything else.’

Gu Jiao Wu kissed Qiao Tan Yuan breathless so she would listen to him.

‘Now will you listen to me?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked.

Gu Jiao Wu held Qiao Tan Yuan’s waist to stop her leaving.

‘Qiao Tan Yuan, I admit I hated you in the past,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘But after Xiao Bao was born, I saw different sides of you that surprised me like how you were willing to sacrifice your life to save Xiao Bao. There are many things I discovered about you that I don’t hate. In the past we didn’t understand each other, and I couldn’t let go of my hatred toward you. But now it’s different. Why don’t we give each other a chance to understand each other more, and perhaps…’

For the first time Qiao Tan Yuan understood Gu Jiao Wu’s thoughts by looking at his eyes. Her heart was overwhelmed with conflicting feelings. The pain of chasing Gu Jiao Wu, and the determination to let go of Gu Jiao Wu. Gu Jiao Wu’s confession was too surreal like she was dreaming.

‘Are you saying you want us to start again?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.

‘Yes,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘Not because of Xiao Bao or anyone else. I want to start again, because I want to be with you, Qiao Tan Yuan.’

Qiao Tan Yuan looked at Gu Jiao Wu’s broad chest, he held her hand on top of his heart. She was too shocked and confused to believe he wasn’t lying. She pulled her hand out of his hand, and he pulled her closer to him.

‘Let me go,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.

‘Are you agreeing to start again?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked.

‘No,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said. ‘Gu Jiao Wu, what makes you think I need to get back together with you if you open your mouth? You can’t have everything. You say you love me, but it’s a pity I don’t love you anymore. I don’t love you!’

‘You don’t love me?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked.

Gu Jiao Wu didn’t believe Qiao Tan Yuan didn’t love him.

‘Yes,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said. ‘I don’t love you. I don’t love you…’

Gu Jiao Wu kissed Qiao Tan Yuan, and swallowed her lies. He held her waist, and pressed their bodies together.

‘Do you love me?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked.

‘I hate you,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said. ‘Even if you use this way to force me to be with you, you’ll gain nothing.’

‘Oh?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked. ‘I’m going to keep using this way until you say you love me.’

What? Qiao Tan Yuan didn’t get a chance to open her mouth. Gu Jiao Wu kissed her lips, spread her legs and entered her body.

‘Do you love me?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked.

Gu Jiao Wu held Qiao Tan Yuan’s waist, pressed her back against the bedhead and moved in and out of her body.

‘Ah… um… no…’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.

Qiao Tan Yuan held onto Gu Jiao Wu’s shoulders. She didn’t want to fall. Their bodies were still joined when he lifted her off the bed, and carried her toward the bathroom.

‘Don’t you want to bathe?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked. ‘If I let go, I’m scared you’ll fall on the floor.’

Qiao Tan Yuan didn’t have a choice except let Gu Jiao Wu carry her to the bathroom. When he put her down in the Jacuzzi, she remembered what they did together last time and blushed.

‘Stop!’ Qiao Tan Yuan said. ‘I’m tired.’

Qiao Tan Yuan’s back, waist, legs and all her muscles were numb.

‘Stop?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked. He turned on the tap, and smiled at Qiao Tan Yuan. ‘I’m only helping you take a bath.’

‘Really?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.

Qiao Tan Yuan didn’t believe Gu Jiao Wu was that generous.

‘Really,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

Gu Jiao Wu did help Qiao Tan Yuan have a bath after he extracted pleasure from her body.

Gu Jiao Wu carried Qiao Tan Yuan back to the bed after they bathed. He looked at the clothes he ripped on the floor, and reached for his phone.

‘Take a rest,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘I’ll call someone to bring new clothes.’

Qiao Tan Yuan had enough energy to pull the bedsheet over her body, and close her eyes.

Gu Jiao Wu walked to the living room, he called an assistant to deliver new clothes and breakfast to his apartment.

By the time the clothes and breakfast were delivered it was nine in the morning. Gu Jiao Wu returned to the master bedroom, and saw Qiao Tan Yuan was still sleeping.

‘Wake up and eat breakfast,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

‘I want to sleep,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said and waved her arms. ‘Don’t disturb me.’

‘If you don’t wake up, I’ll sleep with you,’ Gu Jiao Wu threatened. ‘I don’t mind sleeping with you.’

Qiao Tan Yuan heard Gu Jiao Wu’s threat, opened her eyes and Gu Jiao Wu’s lips were close to her lips.

‘Don’t you know how to be embarrassed?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.

‘If you’re awake, eat breakfast,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

Gu Jiao Wu helped Qiao Tan Yuan wear his shirt from last night, and carried her to the living room. He only had a towel around his waist. She could picture what would happen on the sofa if she refused to eat breakfast. So she ate breakfast. It would be strange if she wasn’t hungry after being kept active throughout the night, and early morning.

After breakfast, Gu Jiao Wu gave Qiao Tan Yuan new clothes in the master bedroom.

‘Get dress and I’ll drive you home,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

Qiao Tan Yuan heard home, and she looked at the clock on the wall.

‘Why didn’t you tell me it’s this late in the morning?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.

‘You were still sleeping before,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘If you don’t get dress, you’ll get home even later.’

‘Gu Jiao Wu!’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.

Qiao Tan Yuan wanted to scratch Gu Jiao Wu’s eyes out. How was she going to explain why she didn’t return home last night to her family? It was the second time she spent the night with Gu Jiao Wu.

‘It’s nothing I haven’t seen,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘If you’re going to stall, I don’t mind helping you dress.’

‘Who wants you to see?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.

Qiao Tan Yuan turned her back to Gu Jiao Wu, took off his shirt and changed into her new clothes. But she felt him staring at her body while she changed. She blushed, turned around and he was dressed immaculately.

‘Let’s go,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

Gu Jiao Wu held Qiao Tan Yuan’s hand, and walked her to his car. In his car, she rubbed her eyelids. Last night Qiao Jie drove her to the party, but she was returning home in Gu Jiao Wu’s car.
