Cheng Yi chose to join Fei Yan Niao’s gang, and he promised to follow Gu Jiao Wu if Gu Jiao Wu establish an underworld business as powerful as Fei Yan Niao’s gang.

Cheng Yi saved Fei Yan Niao’s life, his face was scarred from a knife wound and he gained Fei Yan Niao’s trust.

‘Tan Yuan, do you trust me?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked and held Qiao Tan Yuan’s hand.

‘I trust you,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said. ‘At least let me know who Cheng Yi is.’

‘Cheng Yi’s my friend,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘He lost his memory, and a bad person used him to kidnap you.’

‘Do you have connections with a bad person?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.

‘Yes,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

‘Why didn’t the person look for you but kidnapped me?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.

‘He wants me to suffer,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘He knows if something happens to you, I’ll suffer.’

Qiao Tan Yuan blushed. No matter what a fierce woman she was, hearing sincere words from the man she loved affected her deeply.

Gu Jiao Wu wished he wasn’t reckless. He kidnapped his daughter, and took Qiao Tan Yuan to the island had made it easy for Fei Yan Niao to find out from spies, Qiao Tan Yuan was the most important woman to him.

‘Jiao Wu, if something happened to you, I’ll be sad for the rest of my life,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.

‘Am I that important to you?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked and smiled. ‘Then I’ll need to take better care of myself, and not get injured.’

‘Jiao Wu, you’re the most important man to me,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said. ‘I hope I’ll always be with you.’

‘Um, we’ll always be together,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

The doctor came into the room, Qiao Tan Yuan let go of Gu Jiao Wu’s hand and let the doctor examine Gu Jiao Wu.

‘Your wound is recovering,’ the doctor said. ‘If you keep your chest wound dry, and don’t overexert yourself then you can go home soon.’

The doctor let Gu Jiao Wu be transferred into a VIP hospital room. The VIP room had a bedroom, bathroom, living room and a kitchen.

At midday, Qiao Tan Yuan fed lunch to Gu Jiao Wu, and he took his medication that made him drowsy. After Gu Jiao Wu napped, she asked Xiao Lam to watch over Gu Jiao Wu while she went home to be with Xiao Bao and to ask Mrs Chu to cook soup for Gu Jiao Wu.

After Qiao Tan Yuan left, Xiao Lam brought Cheng Yi to Gu Jiao Wu’s room.

Cheng Yi looked at Gu Jiao Wu, and he remembered how he regretted shooting Gu Jiao Wu. He vaguely remembered Gu Jiao Wu that day, but he didn’t know why calling him big brother Jiao Wu was so familiar to him.

Gu Jiao Wu asked Xiao Lam to untie Cheng Yi’s wrists, and for Xiao Lam to give him and Cheng Yi privacy.

Xiao Lam untied Cheng Yi’s wrists, and a bit of blood dripped onto the bedsheet. Xiao Lam left to guard outside the hospital.

‘Cheng Yi, I promise you we’re friends and I don’t want to hurt you,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘After you leave the hospital I won’t interfere in your life. But I want you to know Fei Yan Niao is a bad person, and you shouldn’t let him use you.’

Cheng Yi hated not remembering. He didn’t know who to believe.

‘Cheng Yi, Qiao Tan Yuan is important to me,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘If you hurt her, I won’t forgive you and you won’t forgive yourself after you regain your memories.’

‘Qiao Tan Yuan needs to die,’ Cheng Yi said coldly.

‘Why?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked. ‘Qiao Tan Yuan is my woman. If you kill her, it’s like you killing me. The Cheng Yi I know hates killing people.’

‘She deserves to die,’ Cheng Yi said.

‘Why?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked. ‘What lies did Fei Yan Niao feed you?’

‘Do you need me to say what sort of a man you are?’ Cheng Yi asked.

‘Cheng Yi, don’t believe Fei Yan Niao’s lies,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘We’re friends. It’s alright if you don’t remember me or your wife and son. But don’t forget who you are. You’re not someone who likes killing people.’

‘My wife and son?’ Cheng Yi asked.

‘Yes,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘Cheng Yi, do you remember the emails you sent me? You wrote you were living a happy life with your wife, Zheng Jia Ju and she was pregnant. You love Zheng Jia Ju. Go back to Zheng Jia Ju and your son.’

‘You’re lying,’ Cheng Yi said. ‘You’re the father of Zheng Jia Ju’s son.’

‘What nonsense are you saying?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked. ‘Qiao Tan Yuan is the mother of my daughter. Zheng Jia Ju is your wife, and you’re the father of Zheng Jia Ju’s son.’

At that moment Qiao Tan Yuan returned with a Dewar flask of soup. She was shocked to see Cheng Yi, and blood stain on the bedsheet. She ran to Gu Jiao Wu, and protected Gu Jiao Wu from Cheng Yi.

‘Jiao Wu are you OK?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked. ‘Where are you hurt?’

Qiao Tan Yuan turned around, and glared at Cheng Yi.

‘Isn’t it enough you’ve injured Jiao Wu?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked Cheng Yi. ‘What more do you want? If you want to kill me, you can kill me but you can’t kill Jiao Wu.’

Gu Jiao Wu saw the intent to kill in Cheng Yi’s eyes. He didn’t care about his injury, and pulled Qiao Tan Yuan behind him on the bed.
