‘I…’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.

Qiao Tan Yuan only wanted to comfort Shen Cheng a little.

‘You don’t have to worry about him,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

Gu Jiao Wu understood Shen Cheng was heartbroken. But he didn’t want Qiao Tan Yuan to comfort Shen Cheng.

‘Jiao Wu, I… feel sorry toward Shen Cheng,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.

‘If you feel sorry toward him then don’t worry about him,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

Gu Jiao Wu didn’t want Qiao Tan Yuan to give Shen Cheng hope if she comforted Shen Cheng.

Qiao Tan Yuan nodded. She forced herself not to look at Shen Cheng. Gu Jiao Wu was right, if she cared about Shen Cheng, she needed to give Shen Cheng space. Gu Jiao Wu held her hand, led her back on stage and he purposely chose another love song for them to sing.

After the love song, Gu Jiao Wu selected a plate of Qiao Tan Yuan’s favorite dishes from the buffet table, and a glass of juice. He brought the plate of food and juice to Qiao Tan Yuan. He held her hand, and fed her to let Shen Cheng see that he loved her, and wouldn’t let her go even for a friend.

Later Qiao Tan Yuan ate a piece of cake. She couldn’t bear to see Shen Cheng hurting anymore, and she told Gu Jiao Wu she wanted to go home and sleep. Gu Jiao Wu nodded, and led her to the elevators. Instead of taking her home, he took her upstairs to one of the guest rooms he asked Du Lei Xin to reserve for him.

In the apartment, Gu Jiao Wu locked the door and he kissed Qiao Tan Yuan’s lips with urgent need. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him back.

‘In the future you have to stay away from Shen Cheng,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

‘Are you scared I’ll corrupt Shen Cheng?’ Qiao Tan Yuan teased.

‘Tan Yuan!’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘You’ll be my wife soon. You need to stay away from all men.’

‘Does that include you?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked innocently.

‘Except me,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

‘I can’t promise you,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said and smiled.

‘Qiao Tan Yuan!’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

‘What about my dad and Qiao Jie?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.

Gu Jiao Wu was taunted enough. He sealed Qiao Tan Yuan’s lips with a burning kiss.

Qiao Tan Yuan savored Gu Jiao Wu’s kiss. She missed him since he returned to the Gu Mansion.

The night drew closer to dawn as two bodies drew closer together in the apartment.

The following days, Gu Jiao Wu and Qiao Tan Yuan were busy planning their wedding.

On the day a wedding boutique called Qiao Tan Yuan to inform her that the designer wedding dresses she ordered were delivered, and they asked her to come to the wedding boutique for a fitting.

Gu Jiao Wu drove Qiao Tan Yuan to the wedding boutique. He changed into his tuxedo quickly, and he read a newspaper while she changed into a wedding dress. He put the newspaper down after she came out of a cubicle. The white wedding dress she wore hugged her body, and accentuated her slim waist and slender legs. The dress was a strapless long dress with beads and embroidered roses on the front of corset. He was amazed at how beautiful she looked in the dress.

Gu Jiao Wu didn’t say anything for a while. It made Qiao Tan Yuan think about their first wedding. He wasn’t involved in the wedding planning, she planned everything for them. He didn’t even look at her on their wedding day. But she persevered for three years in the hope he would one day look at her, and accepted her for who she was. She was beginning to doubt if she should stay hopeful they would be happy together in their second marriage.

Gu Jiao Wu stood in front of Qiao Tan Yuan, and he held her hand.

‘Not bad,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.

‘Not bad?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.

Qiao Tan Yuan suppressed her doubts. She believed Gu Jiao Wu and herself would be happy together.

‘Then I’ll go change into another dress,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.

‘No,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘You look beautiful in this dress.’

‘OK,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said and smiled. ‘Let’s go to a park to take pre-wedding photos together.’

‘Um,’ Gu Jiao Wu said and smiled too.

A wedding photographer was waiting for Gu Jiao Wu and Qiao Tan Yuan at the park before they arrived at the park. The photographer spent the afternoon taking photos of them.

Gu Jiao Wu and Qiao Tan Yuan changed out of their wedding clothes after their pre-wedding shoot. Then he drove her to the Qiao Mansion.

Mr and Mrs Qiao pretended like they didn’t know Gu Jiao Wu slept in Qiao Tan Yuan’s bedroom before the wedding, because they believed Gu Jiao Wu was sincere about marrying Qiao Tan Yuan again.

Less than a month before the wedding, Xiao Bao was used to seeing Gu Jiao Wu at the Qiao Mansion and Xiao Bao didn’t cry if he held her for a little while.

Since the birthday party, Gu Jiao Wu always returned to the Qiao Mansion after work. Late one afternoon, he drove past a new toy shop and decided to buy some toys for Xiao Bao. Inside the toy shop, he chose toys Xiao Bao liked to play with. When he carried the bags of toys to his car, he remembered he hadn’t bought Qiao Tan Yuan roses since she agreed to marry him.
