I Cor 11:24
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
The communion is pointing us to the fact that we serve a living God. His tomb is empty today because he has risen. It was said in science that the brain can be preserved for three thousand years so the brain should still be available if he did not rise. But thank God that he is alive, so he can defend us and fight our battles.
Mtt 9:35
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Here we see the pattern of Jesus ministry. Teaching, preaching and healing. Teaching is to give sense to what you hear, preaching proclaims that is why it takes time to teach.
It is not good to be going to a church that they only teach the word for 10 minutes spending hours doing other things, when the devil is not dead and will challenge their faith. There is a need for soberness.
That is why many believers in such churches have become victims of demonic attack.
Don't go to church to sleep. If somebody sleeps perpetually during preaching in church, if faith comes by hearing, then how come you sleep like Jonah or Eutychus in the midst of great revelation of the word.
God gave us faith for victory in the place of challenges. Unless in occasions where there was the manifestation of the Spirit, Jesus did not put healing first.
Many people think Jesus healed everybody he came across. But No! Jesus did not heal every sick person unless they heard him;
Unless he had a revelation and he was acting on the revealed will of God. (see my book "The healing Jesus" for details)
John 5:5-9
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
This is the story of the man that Jesus healed at the pool.
The man did not know Jesus; but there was a manifestation of God's power to heal through the mercy of God. But you must not wait for the Holy Spirit to move before you seek God. Y
ou can initiate your healing by believing and speaking right. Of course, people need to be helped if their faith is not as developed in this area.
When you hear, faith comes. Your blessing is attached to your hearing.
Luke 6:17
17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
In the book of Acts twenty, we saw the disciples coming together to break bread.
Acts 20:7-12
7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
8 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
10 And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
11 When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
12 And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.
As Paul was preaching. A young man there called Eutycus fell into deep sleep. Anytime people are sleeping when they should not sleep, they are missing out on the best of God.
So, this young man fell into deep sleep and fell from the window and died.
The devil wanted to distract them so that the meeting could be closed but someone open the door to the devil.
Thank God for the anointing, they would have said that it was because of the long sermon that Paul preached that made the boy to die.
Paul went down and fell on the young man. He did not pray.
Many think until you pray, nothing can happen. The anointing that Paul carried fell on him. He must have felt the power surging through him to the young man. So, he said his life was in him.
Many don't understand this today, but the early churches understood this that we are the same in sonship but not in calling.
After Paul had gone up and broken the bread, the young man was brought home alive.
Beloved, when death meet life, death must give way.
The same thing Jesus did when he met the widow of Nain. Her son died and as they were going to bury the young man, Jesus met them and touched the coffin. The boy was brought back to life.
1 John 3:8
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
This is the purpose of the ministry of Jesus. He came to destroy the works of the devil. After that, he destroyed the devil in his own house by dying for us on the cross.
Col.2:15
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
He went to hell when he fulfilled the law of justice and rose up. Now, all power in heaven and on earth has been given to him.
Jesus cannot lie. So, if there is any power that the devil has today, he got it through deception. This is the reason why we must increase in knowledge.
The only cure for ignorance is knowledge.
The more you know, the better your life becomes.
That is why the devil wants to keep people in ignorance. But it is a pity that many are not ready to pay the sacrifice for spiritual knowledge but they can go the extra mile to get secular knowledge.
Everything that existed has first existed in the spirit realm. This is why it is said in the scripture that the lamb was crucified before the foundation of the world.
The communion is to show the triumphant of Jesus over the principalities and powers. Whenever you take the communion, know that an exchange is taking place in your life.
Nothing hastens the glory in your life than suffering. Jesus' suffering is to make us not to suffer again. The suffering of Jesus ushers us into our wealthy place.
Ps 66:12
12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place. KJV
No wonder Paul did not see suffering as suffering. He saw it as a way into his glory.
2Cor.4:11-17
11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
The suffering of Jesus is to encourage us in our own suffering not to faint. The more the enemy is after us, the more we access the communion, and the more the glory shines in our lives.
The communion is a proof that our thinking is too small compare to what God has in mind for you.
Jesus our Lord obeyed the call of God and he went through suffering, he did not draw back.
So, don't draw back.
Jer 1:4-5
4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
In the scripture above, God told Jeremiah that he has set him apart. God cannot know you from the womb and yet you'll be nobody. You are significant in God's plan.
Rom 8:29-31
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
You must not give up your dream. The process to your future is not in your hand because you can mess it up, it is in the hand of God.
Deut. 29:29
29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.
Today, we are seeing the significance in the communion. But on that day when Jesus was going through the suffering, they must have been telling Mary that she gave birth to a cursed child because Jesus died at a young age.
The environment created by heaven for you to fulfil your purpose may not be good, but if you keep on complaining, you may not get it.
Some today didn't see who you are because of what you are going through. But one day, God will announce you. keep the word in your mouth, tell the sickness that it cannot kill you. Tell yourself what God speak to you will come to pass.
We see a good example in Joseph who went through trials before his dream spoke.
He must have thought that his dream would come to pass in his family house. But God had a greater plan for him in Egypt.
So, rest in God. God knows your ways. When you allow him to work, you will enter into a deluge of blessing.
When people are in crisis, gender or title has no meaning to them. So, don't look for importance in title or position. Look for importance in God and in his purpose for your life.
Nothing is difficult with God. We have had people changed from 'SS genotype' to 'A type' after eating the communion. So, don't just eat but discern the body, as you eat.
God uses the communion to change your story. Where you have been embarrassed, you'll find glory. Those that have oppressed you will come and bow to you.
Doors will open for you, and they will look for you.
You must eat it in faith. It becomes the channel of favour into your life.
Remember that when Abel died, his blood cried for vengeance but when Jesus died, his blood cried for what he died for.
God honors his sacrifice for everyone that believes the seven (7) perfect packages.
Rev.5:12
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
Blessing and honour, glory and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne and unto the lamb forever and ever. Amen.
