The God of Special Favour 12 11 Praise And Worship Activate The Spiri

Praise and worship are a subtle weapon in silencing your enemy.

Ps.9:1-3

1 I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

3 When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.

It must be done with your whole heart. It is possible to flatter a man with your mouth without it getting to your heart.

The praise that will compel God to action is the praise that comes from the depth of the heart. God does not want hypocrisy around his throne.

Incidentally, we assume that if we can sing many songs, God will accept our praises. But God does not look at our eloquence, he looks at our heart. Our heart is the center of our life.

When a man is cutting a tree down, he says he is cutting the heart of the tree; when he cuts the center of it. The center of your heart is your human spirit.

God wants your heart to be involved in whatsoever you are doing. Even, salvation is not obtained unless it comes from the heart, for out of the heart flows the issues of life.

A man can rattle with his mouth and confess that Jesus is Lord like a parrot but mentally assenting is not salvation. Salvation comes from the heart. If confession comes from the heart, it will surely affect your life positively.

Nothing serious comes out of our life unless it comes from our heart.

When we look at the example of Samson, Delilah so much stressed him until he spoke all his heart. And Delilah went to hint the philistines.

Judges 16:17

17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her. There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.

Samson thought that Delilah loved him not knowing that she only loved money. The Philistines captured him and scraped his head. Beloved, here is something about saying things from your heart. We must tell God in praises what he has done in our lives.

Psalm 22:3

3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Praises invoke the presence of God and God cannot be involved in your life and the enemy raises his ugly head. Let us approach the Lord with deep appreciation of who he is. God is all that matters in our life.

Psalm 16:11

11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

Your duty to God is to first praise him before asking for anything.

Thanksgiving means thanks accompanied with giving.

Whenever you appreciate God for his goodness, let it touch your pocket. It is not thanksgiving when it's not touching your pocket.

This is the reason why been thankful and thanksgiving are not the same. To be thankful is to be full of thanks.

We are all commanded to praise and thank God. God inhabits our praises. When he appears, darkness and demons are defeated.

Psalm 100:1

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.

We must be glad serving God. We must first consecrate ourselves to God. Then we worship him from our heart. Then we will see results.

Praise and worship are different. We praise God for what he has done but worship God for who he is to us. He is our God and our father and we are procreated to bring him pleasure.

Worship is the highest level of prayer. In the Lord's Prayer (Luke 11:1-3), Jesus taught the disciples about our duty to worship God before asking for our daily bread.

We must thank God for everything he has done and in every situation we find ourselves for he can turn adversity around. He uses the devil's wickedness to be a stepping stone to our greatness. The devil is self-employed.

Let us look at the example of Paul and Silas in Philippi having been drawn there by a vision.

Acts 16:16-18

16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

Paul and Silas came to Philippi. God divinely directed their steps there and yet they met the greatest persecution. Our opportunities many times are clothed in the garment of oppositions.

A girl with familiar spirit accosted them. The lady was seeing the future without getting born-again. She kept crying after them and speaking. Paul was grieved in the spirit and rebuked the spirit.

The spirit wanted to deceive the crowd and create a disturbing scene that they are in union. But who wants the devil to be his companion? Never associate with wicked people even for the attainment of what looks like a good end.

Note that Paul rebuked the spirit in her. There is a personality in her that he addressed. His focus is on the spirit using her.

Some today who focus on the flesh do many uncharitable things in the name of deliverance and the devil likes us to waste our time.

The bible says that the spirit came out the same hour. The devil packs his loads and luggage and left within an hour.

Once the head of a snake is cut, it is a matter of time, the body wriggling for sometimes will end up dying.

We must not allow unbelief in the manifestation of God's glory. The power of God will always work wonders.

When those using that girl saw that their hope of making money has ended, they rose against Paul and Silas.

Men will rise against you when money is involved.

They got them beaten and put them in jail. They are spiritual merchants using a human being to make money. They stirred opposition against Paul and Silas because the business is over.

The Judiciary in agreement with the occult caused great wounds to them through cruel wickedness but Paul and Silas used the key of praises to turn situations around.

They prayed and sang praises to God at midnight. Midnight stands for times of isolation, wickedness and great troubles in our personal life. But the triumph of evil over good is temporary.

They praised God in the midst of their chains and the presence of God came down.

Beloved, when you bring God's presence down in your home, something extraordinary and supernatural happens.

Many years ago, a woman ran to me in university of Ibadan that her husband, a well to do man in the society was not eating her food. An occultic man told him not to eat at home. The home that was peaceful before became a place of hatred.

So, one day, the woman told me that her husband was coming home with this occultic man and that her husband had already prepared a room for him. He had dug a place where a whole cow would be buried for sacrifice.

I told her to stay in her room with her children praying in tongues and singing praises to God. Just like Paul and Silas did, she did it. To her surprise, the occultic man became agitated and told the husband that he could not work in their house because the wife was disturbing the incantations from working.

So, this woman's husband went to knock on the woman's door to keep her quite or else he would kill her. But she kept on with her praying in tongues and praises.

That was how their plan failed that day. But the husband wondered how the wife he used to beat anyhow could be more powerful than the juju man, to the extent of not allowing the man to work.

Beloved, you may not know what you are saying when you pray in tongues, but you don't have to stop.

The story of another young lady was told who used to pray in tongues in her father's house years ago. She did not know that the man was in the occult.

She was always surprised when her father would come to her room to warn her to keep quite. But she thought she was making noise with her prayers, so she used blanket to cover her face and kept on praying quietly.

The father would come back even at that to threaten her. The prayer was destroying things in the realm of the spirit.

There are many things in the spirit realm that many don't understand, but he that speaketh in tongue, speaketh mysteries but no one can argue with the profound result.

Prov.16:7

7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

History reported that the jailer became the first pastor of the church at Philippi.

They saturated the prison yard with praises. Praising God without music and tambourines especially with open wounds is not easy. That is why it is referred to as a sacrifice and nothing brings down the fire of the Holy Spirit quicker than a sacrifice of praise.

Who cannot praise God in convenience? But the issue of life is if we can pay a greater price of worshiping and praising him in difficult moments.

Most times when we pray in the spirit, we are worshiping God. Paul and Silas did not do it quietly and suddenly, there was an earthquake. All the prison doors were opened. Bonds were loosed from every prisoner.

Your praise is not just a weapon for you alone, it also brings deliverance to people around you.

God will never fail to intervene and interrupt the work of the enemies when prayer and praises go up to heaven.

Ps.100:5

5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Paul used this scripture above to work for his advantage.

Beloved, you will also get result, if you will apply the word to the situation of your life.

The jailer on seeing what happened wanted to kill himself. But Paul assured him that they were still there. The jailer came to them bowing down. While locking other prisoners inside the prison, he took Paul and Silas home and had their wounds washed.

The experience made converts of all his household. Paul told him that God is interested in the salvation of his household.

Act.16:31b

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

This shows that you can claim the lives of your family members by worshiping God and using this scripture for them.

On the long run, Paul and Silas were released. They had to beg them before they left.

In days to come, the devil will regret what he has done to you.

You must use this two edged weapon to execute vengeance on the wicked.

Ps.149:1-9

1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.

This is what brings the glory down. This is the honour we all have as the beloved of the Lord. Never you form an habit of thinking that worship is not a serious part of your congregational service.

God said; "If you don't worship me, you will worship your enemy". Anytime you worship, God gives you uncommon opportunities. This may arouse envy, but don't worry about the envy. It is part of your story. It will not bring you down, it will only establish your triumph.

Daniel was committed and disciplined. He was consecrated to God he outlived four kings in Babylon. They wanted his position, so they conspired against him.

Dan.6:4-5

4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

But can we see the commitment of Daniel to God? He would not surrender to blackmail or deny his God. He opened his window and prayed in spite of the wicked decree they have made because of him. He believed in his God. He knew the conspiracies were targeted at him but because God was behind him, Daniel feared no foe. He had a good attitude towards God and man.

The enemy will always want to attack your worship life. But you must not give in to intimidation. Practice His presence. Don't allow the devil to stop your commitment to God.

He was consistent, he maintained his integrity of a prayer life. Beloved, when test comes to you, promotion is at the corner.

He knew by special faith that the decree cannot destroy him.

The king could not sleep. Yet, Daniel slept in the midst of lions. He turned them to beds, by the ministry of angels.

When God wants to do the unusual, he allows your enemy to rise up so that their counsel can be defeated.

The glory of an electric light is enhanced more in darkness than in the light of the day.

Another instance of God demonstrating his glory in the midst of those who praised him is in II Chron.20:2-12.

2 Chro. 20:2-12

2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be Hazazontamar, which is En-gedi.

3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.

5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,

6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,

9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;

11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.

12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

Here they came against Jehoshaphat. If you don't know what to do, you must know where to go. He went to seek God. He assembled men to fast. He brought up strong reasons for God to help them.

Our God will always respond to faith and hunger. One of them in the assembly prophesied the unusual.

2 Chron.20:15-17

15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

16 Tomorrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

Beloved, when God is with you, you are more than majority. Although God said that the battle is his, he still gave them instruction. They went to battle so as to see the defeat of their enemies.

You don't have to understand God to believe him. All you need is the involvement of God.

Taking musicians to battle without ammunition is suicide mission. But when God is involved, the ridiculous became the miraculous.

2 Chron 20:19-21

19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.

20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.

God confused the enemy, they helped to destroy themselves- self-slaughter.

Three things happened;

1. No one died among the children of God

2. No one escaped among the enemy

3. They brought so much wealth into the battle front: gold, clothes and other things.

God made them to do the unusual by bringing their wealth to the battle front. For three days, they were gathering the wealth of their enemies.

God used their enemies to enrich them.

We can all read the stories and love those accounts but they were not easy when those saints were going through them. God does not promise us that it would be easy, but he did say it is possible.

Your deliverance is possible, your success is possible and what he did he can do for others. God shows no partiality. But in every nation, whoever fears him and works righteousness is accepted by him.

(Acts.10:35)

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

FULFIL GOD'S PURPOSE

Luke 4:16-21

16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

When you understand and are in the place of purpose, you can defeat any enemy.

It is not easy to catch fish inside the water, because that is their natural habitat; But on the land, they become an helpless prey since they are not made for land.

Some birds fly from Europe to Africa and back to Europe during winter because air is the place of their dominion.

Beloved, there is a place where you excel. Until you find it, your struggle in life is unlimited.

No one can beat you to your game when you are in the place that God placed you.

When destiny has mandated you, you become invincible.

Jesus in the scripture above preached in his home town and they got so offended that they wanted to push him to death. But they could not get him because he was in his purpose.

You are a genius in what God has called you to do. In that purpose you defeat every enemy.

There are Christians that are defeated in life. Some are under the attack of witchcraft. But if God's word is true, why is this so?

This is because only few have ventured into the place of mystery as to what God has called them to do. It will be sad to enter heaven only to discover that you did not enter into the primary purpose that God planned for you.

When Jesus found the book of Isaiah, a book written 700 years before he was born; when he finished reading from it, he declared to the people that he had found what was written about him. This looked crazy to the people.

Whatever God is doing in your life now, he has already finished before you came to earth.

Jesus closed the book and they were so angry at him. They had being reading it, not knowing who it was meant for until Jesus the owner of the prophesy came on the scene.

If you compare Luke chapter 4 and Isaiah 61, you will find out that Jesus did not read through the whole prophesy. He stopped at proclaiming the acceptable year of the Lord.

He now through the church by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, completes the rest of the prophecy.

In Isaiah 61:2b, the Lord having paid the penalty of our sins now proclaims through the church the day of vengeance of our God.

Beloved, revenge and vengeance are not the same.

Vengeance is punishing people for the sake of justice. God does not call us to revenge.

Revenge is 'You do me evil, I will do you evil.'

Revenge is bad and it is born out of hatred, but vengeance is justice in operation. But vengeance is not hatred.

When a judge sentences a murderer to death, it is not revenge but vengeance. It happens so that the law can play its role. This is the reason why God is a God of vengeance. He sets time to execute justice.

I Sam.15:2-3

2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Here, God wants to execute vengeance on the Amalekites, so he sent Saul to wipe them out.

Isaiah 61:3-5

1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

Beloved, no matter the mourning in the world, you will not mourn. This is the time to build yourself up so that you can take back what the devil has stolen from you.

Christ's work has finished, but ours is not finished. We are to stir ourselves up. Whatsoever may be the plan of the enemy, God will turn it around.

You remember Esther, she married the king without the king knowing her ancestry. She was stirred up by a prophetic mentor into the purpose of God for her life.

Whatsoever happens in our life prepares us for the role we are destined to play.

Isam.16:11-13

11 And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.

12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

David went through his own road in fulfilling God's purpose. Jesse, his father could have pampered him because of the anointing, but Jesse even after David was anointed, sent him to take care of animals.

Many believers today are carrying great prophesies but are not following the road of God.

You cannot be made without going through the fire of afflictions.

If David had reported the incident of the lion and the bear, somebody might have thought that Jesse his father should not have sent David to the wilderness again. They would have thought that Jesse hated David. But all these made David to qualify to be a shepherd over God's people.

Ps.78:70-72

70 He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:

71 From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

72 So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

Beloved, you must go though your road.

Lets see what Jesus wants us to do;

Mk.16:15-20

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18.They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

You are a child of the kingdom, go and manifest.

To believe means to trust and follow the master.

And in his name, you have a right.

1. To cast out demons: Some, instead of casting out demons, they kept praying to God to help them do it.

2. Speak with new tongues: the order of what we are to do is in how easy they are. This means it is easier to cast out devils than to speak in new tongues.

3. They shall take up serpent: Jesus is talking here about poison. In the bible days, they carry swords around, to use it to clear bush paths, in order to avoid snake bite.

A church in America, one time went to have pastors convention in a hotel. Some people went ahead to poison the water the ministers were to be drinking. They wanted to see what would become of their boasting. The water was poisoned to the level at which could cause death.

To their surprise, the only thing that happened to these minister after drinking the water was that they visited the toilets more often.

This is the immunity that we have in Christ Jesus.

Some years ago, a man brought to me the case of his sister in overseas who sneaked abroad because she could not get any employment.

Whenever this woman is going to sit for an interview, a black cat would appear to her the night before the interview. Once this happened, she would be disfavored. She ends up not getting a job.

In frustration, she travelled abroad only for the black cat to appear again.

Beloved, there is no distance in the realm of the spirit. This is our time to execute vengeance on the wicked in the wonderful name of JESUS.

Luke 10:19

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
