Beside the Spirited Lake of the Undead, it seemed as if it were the 18 levels of Hell. A strewn mess of corpses all had their dried up palms stretched out. It was as if there was a ray of hope for survival!

"I succeeded! I succeeded!" Lin Jie clenched his fists. As long as the pale blue light triumphed, the soldier would be his!

The blood red and pale blue lights kept alternating, and its frequency got higher and higher! Finally, the pale blue light seemed to get an advantage as it started to linger around the soldier's eyes. Success was imminent! At that moment, a small piece of his heart—the size of a fingernail—fell out from his open chest…

"Roar—" The soldier's corpse let out a loud roar, as the blood red light immediately took over his body! It held up his longsword and rushed towards Lin Jie!

"Which f*cking Undead didn't finish its meal!" Lin Jie cursed, as he quickly retreated and tossed an [Inspect].

It seemed that misfortune never comes alone. It wasn't just an Elite—it was a Rare Elite! Rare Elites had a spawn rate a thousand times less than that of a normal Elite. They had their own names and pasts and had stronger capabilities. Hence they also had proportionately better drop rates. Some Rare Elites could even drop items that even Bosses could not drop.

However now… Lin Jie was only completing a mission!

Lin Jie turned his back and started running away with a bitter look on his face towards the trees that he had recognized earlier. However, the Rare Elite's combined stats were too strong. Its movement speed was very fast, and hence it caught up with Lin very quickly, as he slashed Lin Jie with its sword.

"F*ck!" Lin Jie's pupils constricted. The Rare Elite's attributes were too high! Luckily the three trees forming the shape of a triangle were nearby, as Lin Jie squeezed inside!

Half a second later, an attack rained down on the trees. The Rare Elite's longsword had been decomposed for a long time and had lost its sharpness. It got stuck on the tree trunk on its first slash. The soldier, which had a greatly reduced intelligence due to the loss of its brain, tried to retrieve its weapon.

Lin Jie's eyes brightened, as he immediately took the soldier's back and attacked it. Using his rapid sword thrusts, a flurry of 8 and 9 health point damages were dealt.

The Rare Elite's defense was no joke either!

Three seconds later, the Rare Elite's sword was finally pulled out, as the slashed tree let out a sad howl. The tree trunk was slashed into half! One more strike to the same spot would fell the tree!

The Rare Elite's attack was aimed at Lin Jie once again.
