Lin Jie hustled the Tiger King on, towards the Qifeng Mountain outside of the city, in fear of being one second too late.

Reggie, the Warrior Mentor, had headed for the Qifeng Mountain just because of Miya's casual joke the previous night. She had said that if he could let her have a glance at the Half-Hour Flower, she would sleep with him for one night. The Warrior Mentor might have a fiery temper, but he was also head over heels for Mentor Miya. Thus, he had immediately traveled through the night just because of the "promise" made by Miya.

The Half-Hour Flower, as the name suggested, only had an appreciation period of half an hour between its full bloom and wilting. It also required extreme conditions for growth. Qifeng Mountain was the only location near City of Light that had this kind of flower. Furthermore, dawn was the only time when it would bloom; any later, it would be a long wait.

The bandits on Qifeng Mountain were merely Level 10-ish and were of no challenge for the Warrior Mentor. However, Lin Jie was worried about something else—the serial killings at City of Light!

Lin Jie's health points were rapidly sucked away and injected into his skin. A cracking sound was heard, and a piece of onyx scale sprouted out of his muscle.

"Enchanted Scaly Armor! Ahhhh!" Lin Jie pierced his Broken Blade viciously into the ground and hollered, "All of you, come out!"

The Enchanted Scaly Armor was out in full force, and Lin Jie plummeted from 3,000 to 300 points—a 90% loss in health points! He was fully enveloped in charcoal black outward-pointing scales, and his Defense soared up from 180 points to a total of 720 points!

The Bandits' attacks probably totaled at only 300 points. Even if they had the method to work past his Defense, they would not be able to pierce through Lin Jie's scaled armor.

"Kill him! Retreat after obtaining Broken Blade!"

The Bandits, however, did not know what on earth had happened to Lin Jie. They had witnessed how fast his health points depleted, and now, it was the best time to kill him! "You… Run!" The leader of the pack made an instant and wise choice to retreat. Unfortunately, he was too late! Flames had crept up onto Broken Blade, and with the Blade Aura being as ready as ever, Lin Jie raised his blade, and the flames began to exude in all directions!

At the mountain top, a beautiful flower was in full bloom. Its petals encompassed the colors of the rainbow, vibrant yet psychedelic. However, at the next moment, it began to wilt into a pile of rotten soil.
