“Open it.”

“Yes.”

Untangling the tangled knots of the past.

Creeeaaak—

The iron door opened with a screeching sound. As a ray of light seeped through the crack in the door, the person inside solitary confinement slowly raised her head.

“Aunt.”

Theodore entered the cell, calling her as always. Missus Seymour blinked her eyes and stared at him with a blank look. The dry skin on her skinny body, her unkempt hair seemed to show how broken she was.

“I know why you’re so upset, Aunt.”

Theodore said. A coldness as cold as midwinter flowed through his voice. The way he looked at Missus Seymour was bad.

“My wife’s revenge was justified. Because you dared to try and kill her.”

“…….”

Missus Seymour’s unfocused eyes traced Theodore’s figure. She was completely lost and didn’t even seem to know who the person in front of her was.

“But you wouldn’t be able to feel shame or humiliation if you weren’t in your right mind.”

“…….”

“So… I’m leaving it up to her to make the decision again.”

“…….”

“For everything that you’ve done.”

Missus Seymour, who had been staring at Theodore in bewilderment, extended her hand to him, but Theodore simply swatted the hand away with a cold face and turned his back on her.

A voice without any sense of mercy echoed throughout the cell.

“Drag her out.”

After driving Adeline crazy and breaking the curse, my physical strength reached its limit. I was suffering for a while again.

Somnia seemed very dissatisfied with my weak body. When taking medicine or eating, she often nagged me.

Take all the medicine and don’t leave any leftovers. You don’t like bitter things, right? Still eat it all.

Why are you leaving out the egg yolk? Eat it all! Don’t you know that yolks are rich in nutrients?

Are you a rabbit? Why do you only eat greens? Eat some meat too! That’s how you gain stamina!

Physical strength and mental strength are connected. If you want to use my power properly in the future, you must first develop your physical strength. Are you going to collapse like that every time you use my power?

At this point, I felt like she was not a spirit but a strange evil spirit attached to me. She has been nagging so much that my ears are ringing. On the contrary, I felt like I wanted to give up taking care of my health.

But that was just how I feel, I had no intention of giving up on my health. I was planning on holding on with all my might. Even though I don’t have much time left to live.

‘Because there is something that must be done with Somnia’s power.’

“Madam, you ate a lot today? I’m so glad you enjoyed it.”

…Charlotte seemed happy about my change. Sometimes she even had tears in her eyes when she looked at me, I felt a little burdened.

“How about gradually increasing the amount you eat? At least one more piece of fruit…”

That was when Charlotte tried to persuade me with a twinkle in her eye.

Knock, knock.

Suddenly there was a knock. Charlotte paused and frowned, so she quickly turned to the door and asked.

“What’s going on? Madam is eating right now.”

“It’s, um, urgent…There is a message from Milord.”

…From Theodore? I narrowed my eyes, wondering what it could be about. Something urgent? After thinking for a moment, I looked at Charlotte and said.

“Send them in. Let’s hear what’s going on.”

“…Yes, Madam.”

Charlotte opened the door, looking displeased. Soon, an attendant entered inside.

The attendant nodded towards me. He bowed and spoke in a rather polite tone.

“On account of Missus Seymour’s matter, the master is looking for you. If you don’t mind, I’d like you to come to Avoridge Hall…”

“…….?”

My eyes automatically went wide at the unexpected words.

Missus Seymour had been in solitary confinement since she tried to poison me. But then again, why is her name being mentioned here?

“…….”

I was quietly lost in thought, then quickly nodded and stood up.

I don’t know what’s going on, but it would be better to hear the details from Theodore.

“Charlotte, please bring some clothes and comfortable shoes. I’m going to Avoridge Hall.”

“Will you be alright, Madam? You need to get some more rest…”

I smiled lightly at Charlotte’s concern. Charlotte was always really worried about me, but these days she was almost treating me like a newborn. She must have been quite shocked when I coughed up blood. I patted Charlotte’s shoulder and spoke calmly.

“It’s okay, I’m in really good condition these days. I even feel a little strange.”

“…If that’s the case, that’s good news…”

Charlotte seemed to have no choice but to prepare my clothes and shoes.

After getting ready to go out, I came out into the hallway. There was someone unexpected waiting for me.

“…….”

He stood guard in front of the door like a dog.

I slowly raised my head and the blue eyes stared at me much hotter than usual…

No, these days, he always looks at me with those eyes. Like it was boiling, like it contained an uncontrollable heat.

He was so unfamiliar… It was an indescribable feeling.

“…I came to pick you up. I will carry you down to the first floor.”

“No, you don’t have to…”

I strongly declined as I saw Theodore approaching me. As he walked closer, I somehow felt suffocated. He was taller than me, so I had to look up at him, but he still felt like a huge mountain

Is the reason why my heart is shaking because of that intimidating feeling, or is it because of the strange anxiety that has begun to sprout in my heart… I don’t know for sure yet.

What is certain is that he has changed.

The way he looks at me, the way he treats me, his everything towards me.

It was different from before.

And that change… strangely unsettled me.

Why is it, when my decision for the future is already firm?

I was able to notice his changes, but was it because I couldn’t understand his deep thoughts at all?

What is Theodore thinking… I just don’t know.

“…It’s fine, I can go down by myself.”

“…….”

As I tried to sneak past him, Theodore caught me.

“…… !”

And it was an instant. He lifted me up.

I looked at him in surprise. Theodore was expressionless. He looks at me with an extremely indifferent face, but with eyes so hot that they seem to burn me, then says.

“Don’t think of me as a person.”

“…… ?”

“You can think of it as a vehicle.”

…What was he saying?

As I was dumbfounded, Theodore began to take his steps. Very soft and flexible, with no roughness at all.
