Blinking quickly, Missus Seymour looked at Somnia then looked at me again. She opened her mouth to speak.

“R-Right… What you said is right. You’re right, Lily. I’ve been too hard on you… I… I was out of my mind for a second— You know, don’t you… Lily…? I just lost my mind… That’s why I poisoned you without even being conscious of it. I really didn’t mean to do that. Even Charlotte… I attacked her while I was not in my right mind… I really, really didn’t mean to…”

“Those are mere excuses, Missus Seymour.”

I smiled brightly.

“Begging for forgiveness is another thing. You know, don’t you, Missus Seymour? There’s a difference between an excuse and an apology…”

At that moment, anger flashed briefly in Missus Seymour’s eyes. But seeing Somnia floating and shimmering in the air, she balked and bit her lip before taking a deep breath. As if to soothe her seething frustration. She then opened her mouth again while clenching her hands into tight fists.

“Y-Yes… I have to… apologize. I was wrong…”

“…….”

She must be going crazy to apologize to me who she despised so much for that pride. But she’s afraid of Somnia, so she would have no choice but to apologize.

And Missus Seymour would try to survive somehow. As expected, she wasn’t crazy, she was only pretending to be crazy. That’s right. The Annabella Seymour was not going to give up on her own life so easily. She was House Valentino’s elder, so how could she give up her life, knowing that she could wield the power of the household’s madam? She would want to get it back no matter what.

Sure enough, the words finally came out of Missus Seymour’s mouth.

“I am… sorry…”

“…….”

“Forgive me… I was wrong.. I hope you’ll forgive me…”

A sneer escaped between her lips.

It was this easy to hear Missus Seymour utter an apology.

If I had the type of power with which everyone would fear me, it would be so easy…

Before long, I began to laugh incredulously. Amazingly, I finally understood the devils of House Everett.

That’s why those bastards were so confident and tyrannical. Because they had enough power to lord over everyone else.

Why did God make children born as nobles, men, and spirit wizards, and gave them powerful spirits? Even with such power and social status, those scum were already living by committing garbage.

There were people like Charlotte and Jane in the world, and there were people like Harriet and Zen Delacroix, so why did God give Everett’s bastards such strong power?

Maybe God didn’t even care whether or not the world was full of evil.

And the power of dreams was entrusted to chaos. It was clearly written on the sarcophagus. After all, this power was not a gift from God who had pity on me, but a gift from chaos.

So as long as there are no restrictions, I can do anything. God wouldn’t save Missus Seymour, and God wouldn’t punish me anyway.

“That’s not enough, Missus Seymour.”

“…What…”

“Kneel.”

“…What?”

“Kneel. Before me.”

I pointed to the floor with my hand. Moving my gaze up and down, I expressed the meaning clearly.

Missus Seymour’s face contorted as she failed to control her expression. Her shoulders were shaking. It must be hard to be willing to get down on her knees.

What great pride.

If she valued herself that much, she should know that others are also valuable.

“Are you not going to kneel? Then die.”

“You…!”

Somnia rushed at Missus Seymour, who was crying. At that moment she collapsed on the floor screaming. She evaded Somnia while crawling and clinging to the wall. It was so funny that I spontaneously burst out laughing.

“Are you really not going to kneel? Shall I kill you then?”

“N-No! I’ll kneel! I will kneel!”

Answering like so, Missus Seymour crawled in front of me like a dog. Trembling with fear, she looked up at me with a tear-stricken face. Then she moved both legs and started prostrating. With her hands laid neatly on her lap, she lifted her head and looked at me.

I said with a pitiful smile.

“You need to ask for forgiveness again.”

“…I’m sorry, Lily…”

“I can’t hear you. Could you speak a little louder?”
