Chapter 78 – Overconfident Yakuza

This was not the first time that Sanada encountered an otherworlder. He had met with many students from Mia's school, who entered the game as lifestyle players. Sanada managed to kidnap some of them, but all of them simply logged out and escaped from his grasp.

Frustrated from the failed attempts, he shot a few of them out of anger. Then, he found out that once any otherworlder was injured, they could not leave or disappear from his sight.

Injured players could not log out!

Because all of them were not from the military, their constitution and combat abilities were as weak as a commoner here. As a result, Sanada looked down on young otherworlders. He exploited this discovery and managed to torture a couple of male lifestyle players in the game under his underground building, keeping them as toys.

Now, he believed that he could finally have a gorgeous sex slave.

Sanada licked his lips.

The deeper Mia ran further into the Anime District, the more isolate this place became. Most of the ordinary shops had been closed for the night, but casinos, internet centers, and a few food stores were still in business.

Still, no one walked on the street at midnight.

"It's getting creepier than the empty wasteland."

Mia did not like this atmosphere. In his point of view, being in the wasteland felt safer than being in a ghost town environment, even though he knew that many people still minded their businesses in the shops.

As Mia saw the exit of this district and long fences beyond the main road, he smiled.

'I'm finally out!'

*VROOM*

All of a sudden, black sedans and a van blocked the exit, and several men in black suits got out of the cars. Each of them took out a rifle or a pistol, aiming at Mia. Laser pointers from rifles and guns pointed their red dots on Mia's forehead and heart.

"Hmm?"

Mia tilted his head to the side. He did not remember provoking someone or violated the law.

Soon, a scarface yakuza stepped out of his limousine, and his aide shouted at Mia.

"Throw away your weapons and surrender! You have been surrounded!"

Mia widened his eyes, doubting if this were a play from one of those anime freaks.

*Mew* (I sense junk food.)

*Mrrr* (Their blood smells weird, but it's food.)

*Nom-Nom?* (Can I eat them?)

'Hold on a moment, Tama. I think there is a misunderstanding.'

Mia raised his chin and yelled back, "I have no times to play with you. Go back and roleplay with your friends!"

Sanada, the yakuza, had blood veins on his face. He thought that Mia was taunting him to go home and play like a child.

In anger, Sanada bellowed, "I give you three seconds to surrender. Don't say I didn't warn you! Your status is as low as a common laborer on the street. You don't stand a chance against the adults!"

"Huh?"

[Can you hear me, Misha? I think those guys are the gangsters I warned you. Get rid of them and get out of there before they call more back up!]

"Eh? Gangsters?"

The more Mia listened, the more confused he became.

*Nom-Nom Mew?* (They're bananas. Can I eat them?)

*MYA!* (Combat mode, let's go!)

While Mia was digesting new information, a gunshot sound came, and he felt that something hit his left chest.

He could feel the small impact, but it did not hurt that much. It was as if someone threw a rock at him.

As Mia looked down on his chest, something embedded and flattened on to his leather bodysuit. He pulled it from his chest and found out that it was a piece of flattened metal.

"Isn't this a bullet?"

It was a 14mm rifle bullet head that smashed onto Mia's chest, but it could not penetrate his body.

Mia touched the area that he was shot in an alarm, but the place he was hit only became a red mark on his skin.

Processing his banana brain cells for a second, Mia realized what had happened.

"Whoops, they're real mafia gangsters?"

*MYA!* (You're slow!)

[Your brain needs more rams and processing power, Misha. Has anyone told you that you don't look like you have over 500 INT? I'm starting to think that your INT value is an error.]

"…"

Mia did not retort or sullen from the remarks. Instead, the corner of his mouth curved upward into a grin.

'1,318 VIT is at work. My decision is correct.'

Looking back at the surroundings, Mia exhaled the flammable gas from his lung.

Battle Mode, On!

While Mia was sulking by Crystal's harsh comment, Sanada and his subordinates stared at Mia in shock. They had just used a standard 14mm armor-piercing bullet, but Mia was still standing.

"Was that an armor-piercing AR shell?"

"Yes, boss."

"How the hell can she withstand that bullet, then!? Her VIT stat is lower than 500!"

"W-We don't know, boss!"

"Get the 20mm! I want her to surrender willingly! Fire a bullet at her leg and cripple her!"

"Y-Yes, boss!"

"As for the rest of you, fire everything! Pin her down!"

Over 50 yakuza members pulled the triggers.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

Bullet rain came at Mia, but all of them froze in mid-air as if the time had stopped.

One the other hand, Mia's eyes glowed in red light as he activated his favorite defensive ability.

Electrokinesis: Force Field

The defensive barrier at level 69 revealed its actual ability.

Electric current rotated around Mia, creating a magnetic force, repelling all matters and materials around himself. His feet floated from the ground by five centimeters as his psychic skill also propel himself from the earth.

The crowd of yakuza stared at the phenomenon in shock.

"Err, boss? Are we fighting Neo?"

"Are we in the Matrix?"

The cold eyes of Mia glared straight into the eyes of the gangsters. He raised his hand and waved it down, sending all floating bullets back to the shooters.

Returned bullets scattered. They pierced through half of the black suit men at once while the rest hit their vehicles.

Sanada stared at the disastrous scene with petrified legs. All thoughts about having Misha or Mia being his sex toy vanished from his mind. Replaced with his dirty plan, all of his instinct told him that he had made a big mistake.

He recalled that Yoshida stressed the word "Otherworlder" when he spoke on the phone.

'I fucked up! I thought she was just a pushover like other young otherworlders!'

Sanada's legs trembled as he could not control his body.

Meanwhile, Mia dashed forward with a wide smile.

"Nom-Nom time, Tama."

*NOM-NOM!* (FOOOOD!)

Six tentacles stretched from Mia's back as he ran. Each of them hunted for preys, reaping any life they found.

A dozen messages spammed Mia's notification panel. Each of them yielded a minuscule ten EXP per kill, which did not satisfy Mia.

"Where's the boss guy?"

As Mia darted his murderous glances around, looking for the leader.

Then, his eyes met with Sanada's.

"Found you! Give me your EXP!"

Sanada wetted his pants. He sat on the ground and raised his palm forward, trying to stop Mia from getting closer.

"WAIT, DON'T KILL ME! I'LL LET YOUR FRIENDS GO!"

Mia's legs paused, but Tama's tentacle did not.

*Nom-NOM-Nom-NOM*

Tama hummed her weird song as she stabbed Sanada's stomach with her tentacle.

*Mya?* (Ah? I miss.)

Realizing that her arm pierced Sanada's stomach instead of his heart, she altered her tentacle inside his stomach, shooting it upward.

*PU*

The tip of her tentacle missed the heart again, but it went along with his spinal cord, going upward to his throat and finally piercing his brain.

*Mew?* (I miss again?)

Mia snickered, "Who's the banana now, Tama?"

*MYA!* (I'm not a banana! You're a banana!)

Tama kept screaming as she waved her tentacles around, killing the remaining panicked gangsters.

The one yakuza's underling whom Sanada ordered to fetch a 20mm anti-tank rifle aimed his cannon at Mia. He fired without a proper aiming.

*BOOM*

The bullet cut through one of Tama's tentacle and bit off a chunk of Mia's left arm.

*MEEEEEWWW!* (THAT HURTS, WET BANANA!)

Five remaining tentacles pierced the cannon shooter, getting through his brain, chest, and stomach. Tama twisted all of them and scattered his body into pieces in anger.

Mia did not say anything. He gazed at his dangling arm with a bitter expression.

"1,300 VIT still can't stop a cannon shell, I see. Heck, my force field can't stop that kind of bullet again."

Mia sighed as he activated his MBR, slowly healing his wound.
