In the mind spaces, no system indicator, HP, status menus, or anything could inspect the power of residual souls or invaders. Any magic skills that occurred here depended on each soul's experience, creativity, and mentality.

However, the hosts of soul battles always had an advantage over the visitors as they could manipulate the room as they wished.

Misha's soul room glowed in red light as she locked the cube, barring anyone from interfering and blocking Lucien from leaving. Also, the bungalow huts transformed into sentry guns, pointing their muzzles at the slime kobold.

Lucien created swords, katanas, spears, and melee weapons out of his soul body. He picked up a long sword and slashed down, creating a sword wave at Misha.

Water in the pool rose up between the sword wave and Misha, forming a water wall. However, the water solidified in an instant, transforming into a wall of thick steel.

The sword wave hit the wall, but it failed to destroy it.

The vulcan guns rotated as they spat fire. Thousands of bullet hailed onto Lucien.

Lucien dodged the bullets. He leapt on top of the wall to get an angle on Misha. Upon reaching on top of the steel wall, he found no one below.

By instinct, he noticed a strange glare from the room ceiling. When Lucien looked up, he saw thousands of eyes, watching him from above.

The eyes squinted as they launched another attack.

Invisible cannonballs were shot from each eye. With a thousand eyes combined, a thousand meteor rained upon Lucien.

One of the cannonballs punctured through Lucien's liquid torso, creating a hole with the size of a bowling ball.

*AWOOOO*

Lucien howled as he transformed from a kobold into a 3-meter tall werewolf. His liquid body changed into a muscular humanoid with a grey wolf head. Like the color of his fur, his skin turned grey, which did not look like a slime anymore.

"If this is the limit of your creativity, I'll be disappointed," Misha's voice echoed in her mind space as the ground reddened.

Everything in the room dissolved into thick red water, similar to blood. As for Misha, she transformed her soul into a giant eyeball, floating and carrying her soul core inside the body.

Lucien, the werewolf, kicked the ground and plunged at Misha.

*ZAAAA*

A tsunami of blood appeared out of nowhere and hit Lucien first, dragging him into the pool, which had now turned into a lake of corrosive acid.

Lucien could feel that his soul was melting, but he did not give up. He jumped up from the pool and looked around, searching for Misha's current location.

But the blood pool transformed into a hundred bloody hands. They reached for Lucien and grabbed his ankles, pulling him down toward the ground.

*SPLASH*

Lucien was dragged and sunk into the corrosive blood lake again. This time, hands and arms bound him under the water.

Because of the binding and restraining, the werewolf could not get out of the pool.

Misha floated in her mind space, observing the invader in solemn.

This battle was already in her favor the moment Lucien decided to settle it at her home ground. From the very beginning, Lucien never had a chance.

Since she could have killed Lucien at any time, she wanted to extract information out of this knight by absorbing his memory. To do so, Misha had to digest him slowly, so his conscience could not influence her soul.

Using the room as a filter, Misha kept the pace steady, eating away Lucien's soul piece by piece.

Lucien also sensed what Misha was trying to do. He wanted to curse her, but the blood had already flooded his mouth, lung, and throat.

It took Misha an hour for Lucien's soul to be dissolved without a trace. All soul fragments of the knight merged with Misha's soul and her core.

She closed her eyes to inspect Lucien's memory.

Lucien's story inside the cave was 90% accurate, but he did not disclose the latter part of his life and how he became Black Slime Knight.

The memory fragments of Lucien displayed the events after he met with the mysterious invaders.

Misha could see the entire event vividly. She could see that Lucien found a statue with Misha's appearance in the middle of the jungle when he was fleeing from human spaceships and robots.

Noticeably, the statue was not the same as her current avatar. She seemed to be a bit more mature as she looked to be in her late-20s. Meanwhile, the current Misha was still a teenager.

[Free me, and I shall save your Very Doge Kingdom and your people! Destroy this statue for me!]

Lucien could hear the mysterious voice, but he could not tell where it came from. He looked around in a panic.

[Hide behind my statue first. I have an idea.]

"O-Okay!"

Lucien could guess that the voice might come from the statue, which was believed to be the seal of a wicked being.

Soon, mechanical units, which had a symbol of Samael Clan, Joan's grandfather's clansmen, found Lucien and the statue. Without any attempt to negotiate, they pointed their rifles at Lucien and pulled the trigger.

Lucien was killed on the spot, but the shells also destroyed the statue.

After confirmed that the target had been eliminated, the pilots maneuvered their mechs away to find other local kobolds.

Moo laughed, "It's a soul card of Lucien. Just wait until I finish carving this, you'll know the effect, nya!"

An hour later, Moo finished sculpting the entire statue and finalized the details.

Moo placed the new soul card on top of the statue's forehead like a Chinese zombie. After chanting and meowing some foreign words, he shouted.

"Now, watch this glorious catto performing a heroic skill, nya! HERO SUMMONING!"

Misha recalled that Moo had that summoner and hero subclass. It might relate to his weird skill.

A few seconds later, Misha could not call the skill weird or stupid anymore.

The statue flashed and gained colors. Within 10 seconds, the soul card merged with the icon, and it came to life.

The statue opened his eyes and looked around in confusion.

"Woof?"

He looked around and met his eyes with Misha's. However, he did not seem hostile anymore.

"Woof?"

The kobold tilted his head to the side as if he had a déjà vu, but he could not remember it.

Misha was surprised. She turned to Moo, "Did you just resurrect him!?"

Moo laughed, "Of course! As long as I have a soul card, I can resurrect anyone!"

Misha wiped her tears. She turned to Lucien and planned to apologize for killing him, but the doge's response was weird.

"Do I know you?" Asked Lucien.

Misha frowned, "Don't you remember that we've just fought? I killed you."

"Wow! Much false! This invincible doge never loses! What are you, a liar?"

She glanced at Lucien's power indicator again. It was still 15,000, but it now had a green name instead of red.

"Do you remember anything about the Very Doge Kingdom?"

"Of course! This doge is an elite knight from the proud Very Doge Empire!"

"Then, do you recall what killed you?"

"Weird flying metals indeed killed me, but I was resurrected by a great master!"

"Who is your master?"

"The greatest catto, Moo Moomoon!"

"…"

Something was terribly wrong with this version of Lucien. His back story was odd.

Misha and Shurka had a poker face expression. They looked at Moo, who had a smug smile.

"NYAHAHAHA! It feels good having dog underlings!" The catto did not hide his evil grin.

Looking at Moo, for some reason, Misha wanted to murder this perverted felionian.

"WHY THE HELL DID I CRY FOR THIS STUPID DOGE!? GIVE ME BACK MY FEELING!!"
