Looking at the corpse of Dove's ex-comrade, Misha had a doubt.

"I wonder what will happen if I die during the test."

Misha checked the log out button. Sure enough, she could not log out from the game as the button was disabled again.

Dove, Pioneer King, and their two other colleagues arrived at a crater site where Misha used to farm EXP from zombies. The four sneaked to the edge of the crater to scout what lied inside.

The giant green egg was there and also 1,600 zombies. However, a few hundreds of dead zombie bodies presented as well.

"Someone has come here before us. So many dead bodies are over there."

"Was it that girl? Didn't she return empty-handed?"

Listening to his colleagues, Pioneer King frowned, "It's impossible for that noob. A girl's mentality shouldn't be able to handle a horde of zombies alone!"

Dove snickered and mocked Pioneer in his mind, 'If she's that weak-willed, she would have quit and changed her class ages back. You're the delusional one!'

"What's next, leader?" All three trainees looked at Dove.

Dove stared at the egg for a moment and activated his newly learned skill.

[Sage Eyes]

Although Dove did not have a binocular, he could observe the egg from a further distance. Moreover, he could see everything at any angle, which a binocular could not do.

"The zombies are eating the egg."

Pioneer grinned, "We have a natural tanker for us. We should start killing all the zombies here and take everything back to base."

Everybody picked their weapons. Dove returned to the APC to mount the 25MM machine gun on top of the vehicle.

*BANG*

*BANG*

*BOOM*

Unlike the cautious Misha, the four unloaded their bullets and grenades onto the horde of zombies. Some of the shots even went into the green egg, which it spasmed each time a bullet went through its outer layer of skins.

The loud noise of gunshot caught the attention of the mobs. They ran and leaped toward the squad with speed beyond human's limit.

At the first minute, it seemed that their rate of fire could keep up with the oncoming horde.

"WOO! My EXP is going up fast!"

"Me too! This is a great farm!"

"We don't even need to use our skill."

Changes happened when they began reloading their clips. The zombies climbed over the dead bodies of their friends to get closer to the group on the edge of the crater. Several zombies that the squad thought that they were dead also transformed into green slime mutants.

"Not good! Get back!"

Pioneer and the two comrades dashed back to the APC, which Dove provided the covering fire for them.

Dove bellowed as his rifle and the machine gun ran out of bullets, "Drive!"

By the time that the three got inside the APC, the zombies reached the vehicle and began clawing and biting it.

*WHEEZE*

Pioneer reversed the APC to pull away from the zombies, but they kept chasing them.

The egg, which looked harmless, splitted open as if it was cut from the top to the middle section. Murky green liquid exited the crack and raised its tentacles outward.

Each green liquid-like tentacle had an eye, which glared into the vehicle's direction. Over one hundred green slime tentacles extended themselves from the egg, chasing after Dove and his comrades with speed faster than the zombies.

The crews were shocked, "What the hell is that!?"

Some of the tentacles snatched onto zombies and pulled them into the egg. Once the zombies were pulled into the center of the green giant, they melted, becoming the egg's food.

The APC also could not escape the speed of the slimy tentacles, which they latched onto the vehicle and were slowly pulling it to the crater.

Hundreds of mindless zombies ignored the green slime and continued clawing at the surface of the armored car.

Dove looked around with a pale face, "We're fOOked."

"No shit, Sherlock!"

"How about we try to use our power?"

"In this armored car!? You'll kill all of us!"

Everyone's face was black, yet the eyes of Pioneer grew more sinister as the APC continued to get dragged closer to the crater.

Pioneer took a deep breath and activated his new skill while his feet were still stepping on the gas pedal.

[Flame Field]

Flame exuded out of his body and expanded outward, which burnt the crew members.

"Pioneer! What are you doing!?"

Pioneer grinned, "Die for me."

*BOOM*

Flame exploded within the armored car, which roasted everybody but Pioneer alive.

Pioneer grabbed the nearest roasted near-death body of Dove and tossed him outside of the vehicle, which the zombies preyed on him. The corpses of the other two were thrown out as well.

All attention of the zombies was now on the burnt bodies of Pioneer's comrades. They let go of the armored car.

As if the slime sensed the heat from the vehicle, it released its grip, allowing the armored car to reverse away from the scene.

Pioneer maneuvered the 180 degrees J-Turn, which the vehicle spun and continued moving toward the same direction that Pioneer was reversing.

"HAHAHAHA! I'm alive, biatch!"

The armored car fled from the site, heading back to base to resupply.

It took Pioneer a few minutes to backtrack to where the base should be. However, he could not find the military base.

Pioneer King frowned, "Where the fOOk is the base!? It was supposed to be here!?"

He drove the APC around for another hour, yet he could not find a trace of the base.

Pioneer got out of the APC and looked around. He sat down to observe the soil of wasteland.

"I'm good at direction! I'm definitely not lost! The base should be around here, I remember!"

The clock ticked 3 PM.

The wristwatch on Pioneer's wrist sent voice messages.

Pioneer gulped. He was reminded that the government was recording his past actions. He was afraid that he might receive a repercussion for killing his teammate.

Meanwhile, Dove and Pioneer's three colleagues had been respawned before the messages occurred. Each of them was sent to a different place in the wasteland with the pre-load out weapons that they picked the last time.

"Damn you, Pioneer!"

The guy who was killed by Dove also bellowed, "I'll kill you next time, Dove!"

Misha also got the messages. As soon as the transmission was over, she looked at her backpack and the "useless tools" with a wry smile.

"There's a saying in our spaceship, having a useless umbrella on a clear day is better than having none in the rainy day."
