Chapter 40 – A Cliché Plot

The sudden melting of the ice block did not escape the eyes of the troopers. As soon as the giant egg started moving, they panicked.

"She melted the ice! Call for backup! Get the Hercules Squad here!"

All their attention switched to the egg monster as they fired everything at the egg instead of Misha.

Getting her room to breathe, Misha leaped into a cover behind another ice block. She reloaded her rifle with a brand new magazine and glanced at the wound on her left arm.

She gritted her teeth and took a deep breath. Afterward, she held her breathe and stuck her right index finger into the wound, digging her flesh to find the bullet.

"Mhh!"

The 110% pain sensitivity kicked in, and she could feel the same pain as if her bones were broken again.

'A broken bone hurts more than this a hundred times over. This is nothing!'

After she wiggled her finger for a few seconds, her finger got a hold of the bullet head. Her right hand and the index finger pulled out the troublemaker.

Upon the bullet head got out of her left arm, the system prompt gave her the confirmation message.

The bleeding stopped, and the red muscle tissues trembled as the regeneration activated once more.

*SCREEECH*

On the other side, the released egg realized that it was freed. It screeched in anger as it felt the pain from the special bullets of the soldiers.

The monster sprayed its digestive fluid in random and melted more ice cubes, which alarmed Misha and everybody in the warehouse.

One of the soldiers ran toward the entrance to call for help.

Coincidentally, he ran into Misha who had stood up and was about to move further inside the warehouse.

As soon as Misha saw him, she got a jump scare, which she pierced her tongue into his head by reflex. Tama also used this chance to extend its tentacle from Misha's chest and stabbed into the soldier's heart to absorb his blood.

*BOOM*

Sounds of the explosion came from the site where the monster and the remaining soldiers were fighting. Grenades had been used.

Misha looked at the commotion with a grin. She yanked Tama's tentacle out of the dead body's heart and circled around toward the back of a team of soldiers.

*Meeeeew!*

Tama protested in anger as it had not finished eating yet. However, Misha did not care.

Aiming the muzzle at the back of the soldiers, Misha pulled the trigger.

*BANG*

Three more of the men went down. Six remained.

Unfortunately, more egg monsters were about to wake up from their slumber as more ice had been melted.

Misha peeked at the five twitching 2-meter green eggs with a worry.

'Will I be able to find more yellow jelly first?'

Had anyone heard her thought, they would have retorted, "You are thinking about food but not worrying about the monsters!?"

Misha left the fighting and struggling to the men while she dashed into the previous location that she found the yellow gels.

'Since this is a warehouse, they should have arranged it in order. More jelly should be around that area that I overlooked.'

When she reached to place where the captain's corpse was at, Misha found the doctor and a bodyguard soldier, who was surprised when Misha appeared.

"You!"

*BANG*

Using the small time gap when they could not react, Misha blasted their brain with her rifle.

As Misha looked left and right, she found more shelves within ice blocks as she had guessed.

"Treasures … my precious!"

Misha's eyes became bloodshot from the joy of her obsession while drools dripped down from her mouth. She repeatedly spat at the ice cubes and whipping it with her monster tongue, hoping to break the ice faster.

*Mew …*

Her fanatic actions even scared Tama. If it could sweat, Tama would have sweated profusely looking at the scene.

Soon, the ice wall fell apart. Misha gathered the Petri glass dishes in her arms and tugged as many of them in her clothes, which filled her pockets with many glasses.

With loaded supplies, Misha's brain finally functioned like a human being.

'Right, I have to get out of this place. And I need shoes …'

Misha looked at the dead bodies around her. All dead soldiers wore boots, which was obviously too big for her feet. Fortunately, the doctor rubber boots and they seemed smaller than the boots of the soldiers.

"I'll take these, thanks!"

While Misha was busy looting the yellow virus gels, seven two-meter-in-size egg queens were rampaging inside the warehouse. The remaining soldiers had withdrawn to the entrance and shouted to inform everybody else.

"SEAL THE WAREHOUSE! MONSTERS ARE GETTING OUT!!"

Four soldiers panted and ran outside the warehouse and screamed to anyone they found, which caused a commotion to the workers.

In front of the warehouse, over a hundred soldiers had surrounded the front entrance and aimed everything at the warehouse door, getting ready to shoot at anything that came out.

Seeing their colleagues running out in a panic, they ordered the onlooking workers behind them.

"HYDRAS ON THE LOOSE!! SEAL EVERYTHING!!"

The warehouse workers were shocked. Although they questioned what the men had done inside, they evacuated from the warehouse floor to the higher level where the research ground was located.

The emergency siren broke out as if the building was on fire.

Scorpion Base, Command Center.

The incident inside the warehouse was recorded by the CCTV inside, and it was being broadcast in the meeting room of researchers and commanding officers of the soldiers. Over a hundred officers and researchers sat in the darkness, watching the live broadcasting.

Yet, all commanding officers did not seem to care if the monster would be set freed. Instead, they showed interests in Misha, who was looting their yellow virus gels like a burglar in heat.

"Air Force Trainee Misha, a player of Mafdet Central Military Academy, infected with the Hydra viruses after she had been mistakenly captured as a baby queen egg by a matured queen. We suspect that she is also a carrier of a mutated parasite egg since she displayed the characteristic and the abilities of the yellow-eye rebels."

Five monitors displayed several images of Misha, her training in the barrack, and the current event inside the warehouse.

"Any possibility that she has contacted the rebels?"

"We've found one of the rebels disguising as the ambulance driver that delivered Player Misha to the underground facility. Unfortunately, our pursuing team has been wiped out, and he got away."

"Any other chances of the encounter?"

"None. She was mostly in the academy since she has arrived in our world."

Researchers and several officers murmured, whispering to each other.

An elderly man, whose age seemed over 80-year-old, sat on his wheel-chair and watched the live broadcasting with interest. His wrikled and dried skin hand pressed on the voice enhancement on his armchair as he spoke using the electronic voice.

"Sergeant Joan. You are also an otherworlder and her instructor. Do you think we can trust her?"

The drill seargeant of Misha, Sergaent Joan was also in the room!

Joan grinned and spoke in a clear voice that all attendees could hear.

"Yes. She is also an elite in our world. She'll be useful."
