The next day

Prayut gazed at the reinforcement from Maat City with a distorted expression.

An agent from MWG informed them that they would pull out all forces from this region as they had completed their objectives. Should he want to continue trading with them, he had to defeat Mia and Shelter 88 on his own.

Aria, Maple, Joan, and all remaining agents logged out, leaving Prayut and his men behind.

Had it been the past, Prayut would have ignored these people as his power and his spies could destroy all mutant bases with ease. However, after he had witnessed the destructive power of esper robots, Prayut was not sure if he could defeat Mia and his hydra pet alone.

Prayut had four esper robots sitting in the hangar, but he could only pilot one of them.

All standard robots could fight against a one-head hydra if they fight together, but the three-headed one was impossible. Furthermore, they had to handle the other four esper robots.

Since the situation was hopeless, Prayut turned to Shelter 87, where his second son had infiltrated.

He contacted his gale dragonewt son, Anutin N. Cha, via his psionic link telepathy.

"Launch the missiles, now! I want Shelter 88 destroyed!"

Anutin sent an acknowledgment gesture with his thought, "Give me two hours. I need some preparation. BTW, have you hacked their ion cannons?"

"Preparation is completed. I can jam it with just an activation. Do it ASAP. The otherworlders have pulled out from this world. We no longer have any backer."

"Roger that, pops."

With the confirmation from Anutin, Prayut sighed a relief.

'Come to think of it, how is Thorn doing in that shelter?'

Prayut contacted Thorn with his telepathy, "Thorn, I want Shelter 88 destroyed. Cause chaos for me. Kill those satellite operators that we have planned."

Ten seconds later, Thorn answered, "I refuse."

"This is not a request. It's an order."

"I refuse."

"Fool! Don't you remember who saved your sorry life? Without my power, you would have turned into one of the zombies!"

"I stand with my decision. I won't join you. Leave us alone."

"This world belongs to us, Thorn. Don't act like an emo teenager and follow my orders. If you don't, I'll kill you."

"Is this how a father speaks to his son? Ha! Try me, motherfucker!"

Prayut smirked. Had it been a peaceful time, he would have retorted [Well, you ain't wrong. I fucked your mother] as a joke. Unfortunately, the time had changed.

'I don't expect that you'll survive the nuke anyway. Well, he's a useless demi-hydra, so he can die along with those people.'

This overmind did not care if his son would die from the missile strike. From the very beginning, he did not mind killing both of his sons to achieve his goals.

Prayut went to the military hangar to board his Prometheus.

His personal robot had installed a new OS, which had the kill switch that could steal or jam one of the ion cannon satellites for a minute.

Unfortunately, one minute could not complete the firing sequence. The satellite had to charge for two to five minutes while locking on the target before they could fire a beam that could destroy ground forces. The radius varied between 10km to 100km, depending on the energy output.

As for flying targets, such as jets or ICBMs, the pre-charged beam could destroy the components on the targets automatically had the objects flew over 2,000 feet altitude.

Prayut could use the one-minute gap to fire the pre-charged beam, but they would not be destructive enough to destroy Sebastian's base.

Still, he could at least destroy one or two of the esper robots. If he was lucky, he could kill the hydra with one hit.

'I can still monitor the ion cannon movement. I'll steal the sat when it's charged, then I'll use it against them.'

Prayut used his psionic link to order all of his dragonewts to mount tanks and AHMUs, preparing to attack Shelter 88 again.

While Prayut relaxed in his mech, watching the satellite status, a siren rang inside the city.

A dragonewt reported to the overmind via the communication device. His face appeared on the cockpit screen, "We're under attack by fire ants, sir!"

Prayut clicked his tongue, "Just take AHMUs and get rid of them. Be sure to collect their carcasses. We can trade them to diamonds later."

"But sir, they can use psychic powers, and they are immune to bullets."

Prayut had a bad feeling about this.

"Take all units and suppress the ants. Ignore the damages to the city. Kill everything!"

"Yes, sir!"

The dragonewt soldier informed his colleagues. A few seconds later, the sound of gunshots and explosions could be heard from inside the robot hangar.

The noise was so close that Prayut got annoyed.

'Those bunches of incompetent idiots. Can't you just stop a group of random monsters? Wait, fire ants? Can they be …?'

Tiny's underground tunnels reached the destination. Her army of 2,000 soldier ants gathered below Mafdet City.

Mia also followed after them and regrouped with Tiny. He pinpointed Mafdet's military facilities and planned their assault.

Mia warned them about a few exceptions that they should not attack the anime district, hospital, and residential district. He remembered that Misha used to enjoy hanging around with those cosplayers, which were harmless people. Moreover, they had a strong imagination, which might be useful if they were turned into mutants.

After one more hour of preparation, the ant army emerged from the underground. 1,500 of them flood the city from the inside while the rest attacked all underground facilities.

Mia transmitted his psionic link to all of his children, "Activate your force field whenever you see something similar to thunder! Protect your siblings and come home alive!"

The innocent soldier ants wiggled their antennas as they understood Mia's words.

The raid began.

Streets and ground inside the city sunk as the ants dug a hole under them. The sudden appearance of holes caused an uproar among civilians.

Curious people took out their phones and smartwatch to take pictures of the holes. Brave ones peaked below, looking into the abyss.

For two minutes, the surface around all holes was crowded by onlookers and curious humans.

Then, a giant ant crept out of the hole. Its mandibles bit one of the onlookers and dragged him below the ground.

Scream and chaos ensued. People shouted and ran away in a panic.

More ants emerged from the holes and chased after the nearest civilians.

Many people in the city became ant food as these monsters hunted for every creature on the surface, including dogs and cats.

Tiny also got out of one of the holes. Her mission was to locate all hospitals in the city and surround them. She also had to control her children not to kill every innocent human since Mia wanted to convert people of anime district.

As for Mia, he followed the army into the city, heading to a hangar. He planned to steal or destroy every robot he could find to cripple this city's military forces.

As Mia got closer to the military zone, he could hear gunshots and explosions. The local militias were fighting against his ants.

Still, their resistance was futile. Mia and Tiny's soldier ants inherited high VIT from the parents, so all rifle bullets could not penetrate any ant's shell.

Like a tidal wave, the crowd of ants devoured the human soldiers.

A sound of railgun came from afar. Someone had used that pseudo fairy cannon.

Mia grinned, 'The same trick won't work against us this time.'

As Mia had warned his children, the ants cast force field electric shields to cover themselves from the railgun shot. Instead of getting wiped by one shot, only 20 weak ants were killed.

As the railgun took a long time to charge, an army of angry ants reached the cannon crews first and mowed them into mincemeat.

One of the ants finished eating a human soldier. Its body trembled as four wings grew from its back, and a stinger protruded from its bottom.

The stinger was not a weapon like bees or wasps had. Instead, they produced flammable and corrosive liquid around the needle, which could create a ranged weapon.

The flying soldier ant gained its understanding of the new body by instinct. It had mutated into inferno stinger, which was a subspecies of inferno soldier ant.

It flew and pointed the stinger at a Humvee, which was rushing toward the army of ants.

The stinger was set aflame by itself. Then, the ant shot its flaming needle at the Humvee.

The ejected fire needle hit the windshield, penetrated it, and entered the vehicle.

The flying ant wiggled its antennas, activating its inherited psychic power from Mia and Tiny.

Fireball

The fire stinger got converted into an explosive ball, which detonated.

*BOOM*

The explosive was not the usual fire explosion. Instead, it exploded hot green acid.

The stinger exploded the inside, melted all the passengers. The metal car turned into a liquid as if they were melting ice-cream.

The stinger ant landed on the ground and staggered back into one of the holes, looking weak. This was the consequence and the price for shooting a stinger. Although it could not continue fighting, it would recover after a few days of good rest.

Tiny sensed the evolution of her children. She gazed at them with a proud look.

'Picking Mia as their father is the right choice. Now, my children can dominate the world.'

Meanwhile, Mia reached the hangar after his ants took down tanks and several AHMUs.

*BOOM*

One esper robot, Prometheus, rushed out from one of the hangars. A hundred ants got run over by the mech.

The artificial eyes of Prometheus flashed, and several invisible cannons slammed onto the crowd of ants.

Those were [Blast] skills that Mia, alpha eggs, and many hydras had.

Mia looked around and expanded his 3D sense, checking if more esper robots would come out.

Sensing that the other three Prometheus was still inside the hangars, Mia grinned.

'Only one robot. Then, I'll get the other three.'

Mia pressed a communication button on his ear device, passing his information to Crystal and Thorn.

"Only one Prometheus active. The other three robots are pilotless."

Crystal answered with a cracked voice, "Roger that. Sebastian is on the way. Will you be alright with only one robot?"

"We need the other two to defend the base. Do not use your satellites unless those demi-hydras fired their missiles. Tell my hydra wives to guard the people inside the base."

"I know."

Mia cut the communication and looked at the battle between Prayut's Prometheus and 200 giant ants.

Again, Mia expanded his sense to check the pilot's status and condition.

Once his sixth sense detected the presence of an overmind, Mia clenched his fist.

'Found you, Prayut.'
