Kael Cor: A Vampire's Awakening Chapter 47 Tower System VII : Soul Stealer

Greedy, selfish, covetous, thieves, murderers, gluttony, masochistic, sadistic, malevolent, evil and downright crazy. It's a lot to handle is it not, but those are the base instincts of a vampire, well those were the base instincts of a vampire. Captivity had changed them, given them something that they never had before, it gave them a reason to fear, to think twice, and to do the one thing vampires of old would rather die than do...…..betray. And you might wonder what it was that could cause such a change, well, the answer to that is quite simple...…humanity.

But therein lies the conundrum, the vampires were learning to be human, to love, cherish and appreciate everything around them. But until a year and some months ago, I was human. I was everything they were trying to be, and now I think I'm turning into everything they used to be. After all, the darkness in me was just born.

I felt no remorse for leader, to be honest I did not see a need to, the guy just tried to beat me, and kidnap me, and to make matters worse his lackeys hurt Nisi. That was not acceptable, not one bit. Which was why I took great pleasure, waaaaaay to much pleasure in the torture he experienced before his death. I was lying here, helpless and weak, just me against three opponents.....well two opponents since one was already injured. And I loved the looks on their faces, the horror and the apprehension written all over their countenance, I smiled, because I knew, I just knew I was going to hurt all three of them in ways that they could have never imagined, or experienced.

"Wh...…..what ar...what are you going to do?" S2 asked with a shaky voice.

I pulled my self up to a sitting position and dragged my right knee closer to me body. Then I folded both my hands on top of my knee, making sure I flashed the short sword in my hand as I did so. Then I placed my jaw on my folded hands, giving them the impression of a relaxed monster, I was doing good.

"I'm going to kill you...all of you."

S2 drew in a sharp breath as S3 swallowed in fright. S1 could hardly do anything as he was still in a world of pain, they drew back a step almost as if they wanted to slowly creep away. A raised eyebrow from me, put an end to that stream of thought.

"You can't kill us, I'm not sure you would be able to deal with the consequences. Our employer is a very powerful personality in the pit, many vampires respect him, and by extension us." S3 threatened, while S2 repeatedly bobbed his head in agreement.

Fear was not making these guys think straight, I think they all forgot that I was awake when the leader said that all they had to do was deliver me to a place and then they were free of me. This guys were hired guns, not loyal servants or employees. So this employer they were talking about, had absolutely no relationship with them.

"And who's this employer of yours." I asked in mock curiosity.

"Cornelius Daneaitani." S3 answered with a huff.

"...….."

"errr...…okay? Sure...…I have absolutely no idea who that guy is. So please die for me now!" I answered back.

They looked panicked, and they became even more scared when I released my soul energy outside my body and a blue fog spread across the cave. The truth is, everything I had done so far, was nothing but a bluff, I was too weak to get up and move a sword, and the fact that leader died could only be attributed to luck. So while my dark thoughts about how I was going to hurt them took center stage, I had absolutely no idea how I was going to do so, unless they foolishly came close enough for me to cut them. But from the looks of things, they we're not that foolish.

This was something that gaining humanity had changed in a vampire too, while some part of me felt becoming more human like was something that was beneficial to the vampire race as a whole, some other part of me was disgusted by it. This rabble of amateur kidnappers were wimps, a far cry from the fearless hunters of the night that vampires used to be. So I sought to use that fear against them.

The moment the fog that was my soul energy spread across the cave, I developed a sort of awareness. Or I should say, I was connected to every individual strand of soul energy that was in the air. My awareness was not really refined, since all I had were vague impressions of things around, and the people too. However I knew immediately those three idiots took deep breaths, I could feel my soul energy go through their nasal cavity and into the lungs, to be honest, it was not a pleasant feeling.

But by virtue of the fact that this was soul energy, 'my' soul energy, I had a certain degree of control over it. And much like my perception it was not really refined, but it was good enough for what I was going to do next. I felt S2 and 3 running out of the cave, with S1 wobbling right behind them. I raised my hand towards them and pulled back. I felt the resistance of the added weight, it was like pulling or pushing a wheelbarrow full of cement or sand. At that moment I could only deduce that my mental energy was not strong enough to control my soul energy in this form to perfection, or the level of my soul manipulation was not high enough as it is.

All three kidnappers were dragged off their feet and deposited two meters away from me. With the fog from my soul energy still in the air, they could not see who, or what had pulled them back. So as they scrambled to their feet, I began to push the rest of the soul energy into them.

I could feel their bodies and their lungs filling to the point of bursting, I wonder what would happen if someone kept on breathing in beyond their capacity to hold air. I really wanted to see what would happen, so I kept on pushing my soul energy into them, I could feel their lungs expand like a bagpipe, their skin began to get bloated, but eventually I got tired. From the looks of things, these guys looked like they were about to explode, there was no way in hell I was making such a mess where I lived. So I raised my hands up, and my kidnappers who were already three times larger than before floated up too. With my soul energy completely in them, it became a whole lot more easier to move them.

I began to move some of my soul energy to their head, and right there, I felt a spark. I couldn't see it, but it was like a flame that was beckoning, calling for me with much yearning it was like were long lost brothers. I stretched my soul energy towards that spark, letting it envelope and encompass the flame, and when I knew the flame was fully covered, I pulled back.

I dragged my soul energy out of their bodies along with that bright yellow spark that was invisible to everyone but me. The three kidnappers fell to the ground, still breathing, but their eyes were vacant, empty. They were nothing more than shells now. I pulled my soul energy back into my body, and back into the conduits in my spine, feeling them to the brim.

I felt like I was going to explode from that much soul energy, at the fourth circle of the Coccyx realm, there was not much advancement to be done unless I advance to a higher realm, and with this amount of soul energy I currently have, it would be nothing more than child's play for me to do that. However, I have not learnt everything I could about the early stages of being a weaver, I rather not jump grades without properly learning the lessons each grade has to teach.

I did not need to think twice before I mentally said yes. Have you ever had this urge to pee so bad that it felt like your bladder would burst in the next second if your trousers were not below your waist. And then finally you get that release you so badly craved for, well this was like that, only weirder.

I felt my soul energy begin to drain from my body, coming out from a point below my back, and flowing into the earth below. I could feel the tower absorb the energy, and that was why I felt weird. It was like having an extra body, most people would fashion this as a sort of out of body experience, but I was still in my body and very aware. In other words, the tower was like an extra limb, that was more like a body than a hand.

But regardless of how weird that explanation seemed, I had nothing to worry about but two helpless kids who might be dying. And finally I wanted to know who the fuck Cornelius Daneaitani is, and if it was possible for me to fuck up his life. I find that I'm quite good in killing, there should be some new techniques with his name on them.
