Kael Cor: A Vampire's Awakening Chapter 279 Fallen Angels VIII : Conclusion, A Mastermind

A battle between two weavers is not usually as epic as most would imagine, well I don't really know what a battle between two weavers is like, because I've never fought a weaver before. And to be honest this was territory I really didn't want to experience at the moment. Besides there was no rule that said every fight had to be drawn out and epic, so I took the shortest path to ending this confrontation. I jumped into the shadow realm, and moved through it, until I was standing behind Larkin.
The Shadow walk ability had many limitations, with the most prevalent being the fact that you can not enter and exit the shadow realm, without using a shadow as a portal, except of course it's at night. So it was completely useless in a bright lit room, or when the sun is directly over your head, but what would make a vampire go out in the sun in broad daylight.....so that can be crossed out of the list.
I swung my claws forward and out of the shadow realm, moving the gun away from Galadriel's head, as I also shredded a significant amount of flesh from Larkin's forearm. All that was left behind were strips of skin and exposed bone. Larkin was human, but even as a human, he was weak. Weavers are considered by many as a magical class, so more often than not, all weavers are very frail and weak, just like a majority of mages.
I ignored Larkin's screaming voice as I grabbed his head, and twisted it off his shoulders, letting his body drop as a fountain of blood sprayed into the air. I held his head in my hands, and watched as his soul left his body, and dissipated, probably to go reincarnate or something like that. Almost immediately, everything, and everyone that's been affected one way or another by his would energy started getting free, as they regained clarity.
There was a distortion of air in front of me, as electricity started sparking within the confines of the bunker. Tiny arcs of lightening flew around the room, before they converged into a large rune circle that was rotating in place six feet above the ground. The Nephilim had it lucky, their own sealing array was not placed too far from them and under severe lock and key, it was just here, waiting for them to discover. Though even if they found it, I doubt they would have been able to do much with it, after all, only a weaver could make and destroy a seal, unless it's not strong enough to withstand the backlash of nature.
I didn't have time to break it, and it was not because I was lazy or anything.....maybe that's partly responsible. I just massacred like a hundred aliens and maybe a few dozen Nephilims. I needed a bath, and a very soft bed, I was much too tense to pay attention to that sealing array right now, plus I still had some Josagn to deal with. So I thank God that I can actually be in two places at the same time. It was just a matter of letting my soul clone deal with the Array.
Galadriel was collapsed on the ground, she was breathing quite slowly, but her heartbeat was strong, so I guess she was just a little out of it at the moment. Then I turned to the remaining Four Josagn. At a glance, based on the way they were dressed, So was probably looking at a superior and his three subordinates. I don't know who they were, or why they were here, well apart from the already obvious business of buying slaves.

"What do I do with you guys hmmm? Should I just obliterate you an be done with it all?" I mused to myself, asking the question to no one in particular, even as I looked at them. The well dressed superior opened his beak like mouth and started speaking.
"Please you can't kill us, not without severe consequences! I'm not just a Josagn diplomat, I'm the Josagn's ambassador to the Toroth, and the liaison between Larkin and the Flock Federation. If you kill me or my men, it will spark an intergalactic war, that even with all your power, you would not be able to win. Besides we never hurt you, if there's a quarrel, it is not with you, but rather with the Nephilim!" The Josagn said, as he flapped his hands erratically like he was some sort of featherless bird. Which he was, but it was a comical sight bone the less.
"Listen here Pecker! I don't take kindly to being threatened, however you're absolutely right about one thing. Your quarrel is not with me, and quite frankly why should I carry someone's else's trouble on my own head. So I won't kill you, however your fate would be left to the people who you actually have a quarrel with, and believe me, whatever the Nephilim choose to do with you, it's going to be a whole lot worse than me killing you. See ya later Peckers."
With my piece said, I turned from them, and faced Galadriel as she picked herself from the ground. I couldn't believe she was a clone, but at this point I doubt there's anything that happens in Shearath that would surprise me anymore. There were fantastical abilities, and equal fantastically races and people who could use those abilities, and Galadriel is a prime example of that. I watched as she shakily got to her feet, and spread her huge white wings. They even seemed larger than when I first saw them from her clone, completely stretched out, I was looking as almost eight to ten feet worth of wing span, and it looked incredibly sturdy too. She looked at me confused for a moment before I asked.
"Do you know who I am?"
"Of course I do, you're Kael Cor and the man who's going to be my daughter's father in law." She replied.
"Oooookay? Let's get out of here." I said to her with a rather unsettled look on my face.
So it seems she still shares memories with her clone, and knows exactly everything's that's happened so far. At the very least, this saves us from some really awkward mess, and to be honest I don't think I could handle any more drama. I needed a vacation, a long one none the less. I've not had a single moment of rest ever since I woke up in the pit, it's been one thing after another, after this is done with, I'm going to be having a month long Ménage a troi, and nothing's stopping me, even if the sky is falling down.
We made our way out of the mansion, meeting up with the other Nephilims that were in it, and subduing the rest of the Josagn. Nothing too complicated happens in the process, and we made our way out and into the early hours of the morning. I could see the sun rising on the horizon, and I knew I had to get Asha underground before it was too late. I turned to Galadriel, shifting my head between her, and her approaching clone, before I held out Larkin's head to her and said.
"Here. This is a gift for you an your people, I've kept up my end of the bargain, so do keep yours. Come find me when you're ready to move the Aviary, and please do hurry it up, I really want to get back home."
"I understand Lord Kael, thank you so much for your help. My people and I will never forget it, not for an eternity." She said to me as she bowed.
I shrugged and placed a palm in her shoulder before tapping her to let her know that I was okay. Then I jumped into the shadow realm, and went looking for Asha amongst the remains her enemies. And sure enough I found her sitting on the ground, resting her back against a building, with a massive tree, made for hundreds of thorns with very thick branches. And hanging from those branches, were hundreds of Josagn, left out there as a display of Asha's own power and ruthlessness to her enemies. I don't know about other men, but I was seriously terrified of my wife, and seriously turned on too. This day was just so weird.

"How could things have gone so wrong so fast Ikaria, I thought we hag everything mapped out?" Cassius said as he paced around his office, the wrinkles on his aged face even more pronounced.
"We did have everything mapped out, but there were a number of variables in place to mess everything up. For one, all if not most of our pawns are dead. The mountain range of Noxis Nyx is no longer a prison, and Kael Cor has power the likes of which we've never seen before. And all of this stems to one thing and one thing only, we severely underestimated him and his capabilities. After all, he is a vampire, and a weaver." Ikaria replied as she flipped her black hair and continued to shovel huge spoonful of food into her mouth.
"Can you not be so relaxed about this! The council of light is fractured, with bone of the other races willing to go to war against the vampires again. I understand that much, which was why I had plans to get a civil war in motion, so that enough of them can die, and give us the energy we need to make the gate to the upper layer. But now their sealing array has been destroyed, and the whereabouts of that shield has been compromised. We may have no other choice but to bring war to Shearath itself." Cassius said as he looked out of the window of his office, taking in the sights of the mining colony and the slaves that worked here. And a majority of those slaves were without a doubt.....vampires.
Ikaria dropped the spoon in her hands and glared at Cassius, before asking with her voice on edge.
"What the fuck do you mean by bringing war to Shearath. As it is, your home planet can not go to war with themselves, they spread far too thing amongst the many planets they have colonized, not to mention the fact that you all have enemies breathing down your neck. If Shearath shows any sign of weakness, then everything is lost, your family, your race, all of your wealth and prestige. They will hunt every weaver in existence to extinction, so pick your words carefully." She said to him, as she dropped down from the table, throwing her half eaten plate of food into the trash, her appetite obviously ruined.
"Ikaria there is no other choice, we can't march up to Kael Cor and have him hand over the lives of his people to power our machine. Not to mention, if that shield is with him, we have to go through a mountain of corpses to get it, and you know we need it, we just didn't know how to get it before. This is the only way we can both get what we want, the only way you can go home, and I can find my wife and son and be with them again." Cassius explained.
Ikaria shook her head as she said to him. "But you have other sons and daughters and wives, and brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, grandchildren! What happens when they're all dead or in danger because of this war, don't you care?" Ikaria yelled at him, only for him to yell back in return.
"Of course I care! But right now they're all a means to an end. And you know how the universes work, there's a copy of every single individual, in each world, with their own lives. And based on our theory, the moment we make the gate to the upper layer, the entire dimensional fabric that separates both universes will come undone, and everyone who has a counterpart in the other universe, whether living or dead will merge and become one, having all their memories, skills an abilities. They will all be alive and okay! So there's nothing to worry about." Cassius said to her with a calm voice.
"What if they're dead in the upper layer, what then?" Ikaria asked as she folded her hands.
"Then I'll go to the next, and the next, until I find them. As for whoever have to die for us to reach that goal, they're a necessary sacrifice. Regardless of how important they are to me. What we're doing here will change our universes Ikaria, we will be remembered for ages to come. So please don't lose your nerve at this point, not when we're so close."
Ikaria closed her eyes for a moment then sighed in frustration. Then she placed some glasses on her face, as her black hair turned blond and her voluptuous frame became a little more subdued to fit the secretary look and personality she now had on.
"Alright sir, what will you have me do?" she asked him.
"I need you to travel around, from planet to planet, and keep your ears open for information. Especially for any that pertains to artifacts with similar powers to the shield. And in the process of doing that, I need you to make a bounty. I'll be paying 500 million credits to the person who can kill Kael Cor. However, I will pay a billion to anyone who can bring him to me alive. I'm not going to let him stand in my way again."
