Kael Cor: A Vampire's Awakening Chapter 260 Training VII : The Return

Before now the dragons did not have any sort of structural leadership or government in place. They just did whatever it is they wanted to do, and roamed around in clicks of the two main species. But with our arrival there was a ripple of change, and a lot of things had to be addressed. But before those issues could be addressed, we were already leaving, being drawn out by the troubles that awaits us back on Shearath.
Which means we will be leaving a power vacuum, which was why Adamas had no other choice but to stay back. Ashes was not really interested about how the realm of the kings would be led, as long as it did not interfere with her fun. The origin fire dragon was spontaneous, wild and erratic, just like the element she embodied, and just like her queen. So obviously leaving her behind to watch after other dragons won't work out, leaving Adamas as the only other available and most probable option. But in the end, we were not leaving alone.
"Are you serious about this? You just recovered from your injuries." Baeki spoke up, as we made our way to the entrance of the realm.
"I'm positive about my decision your Majesty, I lost to his Majesty Lord Kael in a challenge. And yet he still spared my impudent life, it is my destiny to serve and protect him and his own, until my light fades and I join my ancestors on the isle." Shao Tie said, as he flew slowly above our heads.
I shook my head, somewhat exhausted by the entire conversation. Of course it meant another powerful servant, a dragon no less. But it also meant another responsibility, and someone to care about. But either way, when have I ever shied away from responsibility, this was who I am anyway.
We made our way out the forest, and back out into the wide plain we encountered when we first got here. At the end of the plain, was just an endless wall of blackness, and right in the middle was tear. The wall of blackness that only seemed to end when it met the sky was weird enough, but the shimmering light that seemed to have been torn right in the middle of it, was even weirder.
This was the gateway that brought us here. Now there were a few more of those gateways around, placed in places all around the universe that dragons, and their allies, especially the dragon kings could get access to the realm. Of course it's not that easy to get into, and a key of sort was needed. That key, was actually a bloodline. A particular family of humans that were retainers for the dragons. And no it wasn't the Cor family, that would be ridiculous, dragons hated our guts, some of them still do. And that's because we hunted them, it's what we did for s living, how my family got so rich in the first place......we hunted dragons.
"I guess this is it. I'll keep things in order till you get back, however based on what you've told me about the mountain falling apart. We would all be pretty much exposed, so I would have to seal Shearath's entrance to the realm. You can only return when you've placed the markers that would help the realm devour a part of Shearath for it's own growth. Once that's done, you should be able to return with the new land, and I'm sure you that won't be happening until you've both taken care of all your enemies. So we won't be seeing each other in a long time, however our souls can communicate. We'll use that method to continue your magic training, anything else you have to figure out yourself.

And as for you queen Baeki, I understand you will go looking for your husband. I wish you Godspeed and good luck, the Wind King is an important part of council of kings. His power lies not in controlling the wind, but the concept the wind embodies, and that's the element of spirit. He's the key to a lot of hidden doors, and right now, he's just a displaced father who's trying to save his son. He needs you to guide him, so please hurry and do not let your fear of him hating you stop you from doing what's right. See you all in a bit."
There wasn't really much to say, I think all of us here recognized the fact that we hated goodbyes. So the only awkward person here, had to be Shao Tie. Bobo was coming with us, that was a given seeing as he was the first dragon I met here, and he's been such a big help. He felt that his place was by our side, seeing the world and fighting right besides us. I gave Adamas a nod, and then turned to face the gateway. Baeki and Ashes went through first, followed by Shao Tie and Bobo. I took one last look at the realm, and gave Adamas a nod, as Soren and I jumped through.
After so long, with the feeling constantly gnawing at my heart, I finally found my dragon, but now after everything I've been through just to get here, I was leaving him behind again. It didn't feel fair to me, and I wanted to rage and smash things to prove my point. But this feeling also scared me, I didn't understand how I could have suddenly gotten so attached to Adamas, because honestly, I feel as if I've left a piece of myself behind. So right now, there was this emptiness inside of me.
The was a sudden blast of cold air, and I found myself standing outside, under the light of the sun, it was hidden behind really thick white clouds, but snow dropped slowly from the sky. Covering and blanketing everything around for kilometers in a carpet of white. It was beautiful, and then.
HISSSSS
I smelled, heard, and even felt the Gorgon attack before I saw her, so I had enough time to push my head backwards as a bullet went past my nose. I raised an eyebrow, but the gorgon was already pulling the trigger as her gun, began to spit bullets at me in a rapid fire manner. Many of those bullets flew past me and Soren, and the others?.....well they just bounced of our bodies like we were superman. That's cool.
I raised my head up, and looked at Gorgon, her head filled with her live snakes for hair. Fortunately her eyes were covered by dark sunglasses, or believe me we would be having a very different conversation right now. I did not relish the idea of being turned to stone.
"Come here!" the air felt heavy as power, authority and command literally wanted off my words.
The allure was basically a coercive and illusive vampire skill, it could be fought off by someone with a strong enough will. And maybe this vampire would have stood a chance before, but with my draconic body and whatnot boosting my abilities, she has to either be a dragon or at least a demigod to shake it off.
The gorgon walked towards me, her rifle hanging harmlessly at her side. I could hear hisses, yells, roars and screams a little ways forward. But everything was blanketed by the thick snowfall, so I can't really see a thing, not unless I made the effort to do so, but I needed to focus here. Whatever was going on here, Baeki was handling it, what I wanted to do right now, was find out what.
"Who are you guys, and what are you doing here, and most importantly, what sort of foolishness drove you to attack me?" I asked her as I got off Soren's back.
"We're a team of assassin's sent by the Naga king to head to the dragon prison, and kill the vampire known as Kael Cor. However for some reason we couldn't get in, so we laid in wait for him to return." She answered me with a rather emotionless tone of voice.
I was the 'He' she was talking about, but it didn't make any sense. I knew the Serpentis were placed in the pit by the council of light as a sort of relocation program, spend I've never had the pleasure of meeting the this so called Naga king before, so why the hell does he want to kill me, I mean besides the obvious reasons of me being awesome and they being the pet snakes of the council of light. It left me feeling really confused, so I pulled her close and asked.
"Tell me everything, why do you want to kill me, and what has been going on, since I left?"
And she did, though to be honest I don't think I really liked what I wad hearing. So many things had gone wrong, the vampires were in the middle of a war with the Nagas. And there's been significant losses on each side as everything has become a battle of attrition, with the vampires seemingly waiting for their leader to come turn the tables around. I knew that leader was me, but things can't be that simple.
And then she told me what started this war, about the two idiots who lit the fuse, and the reason why thousands were now dying due to their lust for power. The Nagas had figured out they were played, but things had already progressed too far for them to back out, and besides conquering the vampires now seem to be something they eagerly want to do, because apparently we've gotten too strong.
Shamir and Cornelius were wanted by the Serpentis, the vampires don't know yet that they were the ones who started this war. And currently both men were leading their forces from the white district to attack the trapped population of vampires in the red district. The blue district were the only one's putting up a fight, and all the red district could do was defend on two fronts as the Nagas in the green district attacked them with superior magic and war machines, and the purists in the white district attacked them with higher leveled vampires.
I looked out into the snow to see that it was stained with blood, the vibrant red looked really sharp on the white of the snow. Baeki, Bobo and Shao Tie stood close, and I'm sure she heard everything. I turned to the Gorgon and said to her.
"I want you to be afraid, be very afraid. Let your terror suffuse your body, let the gaze of my eyes shock you so intensely that it begins to slowly scare you to death, and the more afraid you become, the more pain you'll feel. Doesn't that sound nice?" I asked her with a smile as I cocked my head to the side.
I was not in the business of being this ruthless, but right now I was not pissed off or angry, I was wrathful. And at this point I wanted everything in my path to burn to Ash and fade to dust. Besides if anything gets out of hand, I could just blame my draconic hormones or some other shit, after dragons are well known for loosing their shit over every little thing.
"Arghhhhhhhhh? Stay away! Stay away! No? Please!"
Did that sound scared enough for me, it seems to be missing a little something. I mean right now she was a sight to behold, she was so afraid of me, that she bled from her ears and nose, and with how frantic she's moving those glasses of hers might get knocked over. But there's no need to prolong her suffering.
"Soren my good friend, if you don't mind me asking, are you hungry?"
"Famished! Master Kael." He answered me, with a rather nasty grin stretched over his fanged jaws.
"Well then I guess we have to feed you don't we. You been such a good kitty after all, tell you what. Eat her.". I said to him.
"With pleasure Master!" Soren answered, a little to excited than I expected.
Then I turned and walked towards Baeki, leaving deep footprints in the snow as Soren slowly stalked towards the mewling gorgon. Suddenly I stopped, I think I might have forgotten something. I quickly turned my head a bit and called out loud to Soren.
"Yo Soren...…Make is slow, painful, and make sure she see's herself dying."
And then I walked into the snow storm that suddenly picked, my figure covered and obscured from the sight behind me, as only the roars of a hungry lion, and the desperate screams of dying Gorgon, accompanying the cold.
