Happy Monday everyone! Hope that you had a wonderful weekend.

Apologies as all the pre-scheduled post ended the week before last and only realised over the week that there were no more pre-scheduled post resulting in the absence last week. It has indeed been tough to find time to translate. 

We cannot guarantee that we will have regular weekly post at the moment. Both tinkerbellsan and myself have been swamped for various reasons in our personal life. We are trying our level best to cope while still trying to bring regular post to all our loyal readers out there. Please forgive us for the delay here and there.

Now, back to Lan Ning and Yan Ru Yu. Looks like someone new is in the picture now. How is Yan Ru Yu going to react?

Chapter 50.1:

Shen Yun was the class monitor of Lan Ning Elementary School. During that time, she often invited him to go home to do homework together.

Of course, she did not do this to copy Shen Yun's homework but because Shen Yun's homework was particularly good, so she did the homework together with him. If there are anything that she did not understand, it could be answered immediately.

Shen Yun lived in the same community with her. They go and return from school taking the same bus. No matter which group of students, one will always like to go to school together with classmates. Lan Ning is no exemption.

Shen Yun is the kind of boy whom is clean and neat. There is a pair of rimless glasses on the bridge of his nose. He has very few words. There are two shallow dimples in the smile. Lan Ning now remembers that after the math class in the afternoon, Shen Yun whom were sitting by the window, suddenly turned back and smiled at her in the sunlight.

It is so similar with the current situation.

The grown-up Shen Yun is still so pure. A simple white t-shirt with a dark pair of jeans and a pair of rimless glasses on the bridge of the nose. There seems to be no different from back in those year.

He pushed a bicycle with a black briefcase in the front frame.

'How are you here? I remember that you are working in the city?' Shen Yun said with his warm voice.

Lan Ning finally broke free from the whirlpool of memories and smiled at him. 'Yes, the company gave us a summer vacation. I am back for a few days. What about you? Going to work on weekends?'

Shen Yun said: 'I went back to the school for extra class with the students. I just finished the class and am going to go back. I didn't expect to meet you here.'

'Ah.' Lan Ning whispered. 'I heard my mother said, you are teaching in high school.'

Shen Yun nodded: 'Yes, it is the middle three. Not far from here.'

Lan Ning nodded before asking: 'Which department are you teaching?'

Shen Yun smiled and said: 'Language.'

Lan Ning smiled and said: 'Sure enough. You were very good in language since young. Every time you write a composition, the teacher will read your composition.'

Shen Yun also remembered the childhood memories and gave a shallow smile: 'Where are you heading now?'

This question reminded Lan Ning. She originally came out to look for Yan Ru Yu but now the person is no where to be found….

'Go home.' She said. After all, teacher might have gone back by plane.

'I am going home too.' Shen Yun said. 'Well, let's go together?'

'Okay.' Lan Ning nodded and walked side by side with him.

Sitting in the coffee shop, Yan Ru Yu looked out of the window and saw them walking away together. He frowned slightly. He settled his bills and step out with his luggage. He returned message to shíjiǔ zāi: 'I am not coming back now.'

shíjiǔ zāi: ?

Yan Ru Yu glanced at the screen and put the phone into his pocket.

In the evening, Lan Ning's father came back from work and did not see Yan Ru Yu. He asked Lan Ning: 'Where is Mr. Yan? Why didn't you ask him over for dinner?'

Lan Ning was stunned by the rice in her mouth and said: 'He seems to have gone back.'

'Went back?' Dad was even more surprised. 'Just came today and then left already?'

'Maybe he has something to do. Hu hu…' She gave her father a piece of meat and said: 'Dad, you eat. Working overtime even on weekend. It is hard work.'

Lan Ning's father blinked and looked at Lan Ning's mother. Lan Ning coughed and said to them. 'Speaking of which. I met the class monitor from my elementaty school today.'

Lan Ning's mother groaned: 'You mean Shen Yun?'

'Ya. He is now teaching language in middle three.'

Lan Ning's father and Lan Ning's mother exchanged look. Finally, Lan Ning's mother asked: 'Mr. Yun left is it because of Shen Yun's return?'

'Hei… cough cough…' Lan Ning was chocked by rice and cough twice. 'It is not. They don't know each other.'

'Oh…..' Lan Ning's mother thought throughtfully. 'I remember that when you were in elementary school, you really liked your class monitor. Every three sentences will have class monitor in it.'

'Mum… why these shameful memories, you remember so clearly?'

'If you did not inherite my memory, will your grades be so good?'

Lan Ning silently pulled her mouth and did not answer.

Lan Ning's mother said again: 'Shen Yun, I remember he does not seem to have a girlfriend.'

Lan Ning was once again chocked: 'Mum, this is not the point at all!'

'Okay, okay.' Lan Ning picked up food with her chopstick and continued eating. 'You and Shen Yun are in different city. One is here, it is inconvenient to date. It is either you stay back, or he goes to the city with you. It is personal sacrifice. Mr Yan is more appropritate.'

Lan Ning: '……'

Mum, you really are too much.

She ate her dinner and then helped her mother clean up the tableware. And then she went to her room to read Ye Cheng's manuscript. Seeing that it is already half past ten, she yawned and wash up before heading to bed.
