Finding Glowing Beauty in Books Chapter 23 part2

I love reading…. and I had always wishes dream of sitting on a comfortable sofa by a big window with natural daylight reading away with soothing music playing in the background…. somewhere deep on a quiet mountaintop or countryside…. unfortunately, the big city person like me, had not had such opportunity…. Praying and hoping that it will happen one day 

Oh yes, today Lan Ning is back again with more adventure with Yan Ru Yu. Hopefully by next week, is able to return with Xiao Bei and Yifan. How I missed them….

Chapter 23.2: 

Lan Ning is surprised. She open her eyes big. He even took the initiative to write? Could he really come here to find inspiration?

She walked softly over and stood behind Yan Ru Yu to looked at his computer screen and saw his eyes looking at her from the screen.

“You standing behind me is to peek at my manuscript or to attack me?” Yan Ru Yu did not look back but it is clear that he has been aware that Lan Ning is behind him.

“I just do not want to bother you.” She aimed to look at his computer to make sure that the word document was open. “Then you work on your manuscript. I will call you for dinner.”

Over lunch, she had deliberately cooked more. So that at night, they only need to heat up and have the meal.

Although Yan Ru Yu saw the dishes at the table is not very satisfied, but he ate it all.

Cleaning up after dinner, it is still early. Lan Ning forced Yan Ru Yu to continue working on his manuscript. But she became bored with nothing to do. Although there were telephone reception in the villa, she did not know if there is signal or not. And there seems to have nothing interesting on the television.

She strolled around the bookshelf in the living room. She picked up a book that she had not read but looks dazzling. She took it out to read.

Not sure if it is the environment here that is particularly suitable for reading, Lan Ning challenged through the book several time and finally even successfully finished it. By that time, it is completely night time. Lan Ning looked out through the glass window. The sky is dark out there. The stars in the sky is very clear.

It is hard to see so many stars in the city. She put the book back onto the bookshelves. She opened the door and went out.

Surrounding woods are dark. Watching some ghastly, Lan Ning stood at the door of the villa, did not dare to head out into the darkness.

She lay down on the grass, while looking up at the alley of stars.

During Middle School, when the constellation student group were fiercely popular for a while, Lan Ning had also followed the trend. She remembered the various constellations pattern. But now she carefully recalled but only found that she can only remember the Big Dipper pattern which is very strongly embedded in her memory.

She is still trying to discern the stars in her head. Yan Ru Yu has unwittingly walked to her side and looked down at her: “You lying here, not afraid of the wild wolf?”

His voice gave Lan Ning a shock. She jumped. Lan Ning exclaimed: “Yeah!” She sat up from the lawn. “There are wolves here?”

Yan Ru Yu looked at her with a smile. “Is there no wolves in the mountains?”

“This is a developed zone ah…. there cannot be wolves around it!”

Yan Ru Yu still laughed and sat down on the lawn. He then lay down.

Lan Ning looked at him leisurely, while vigilantly looked around the surrounding woods. Surrounding is very quiet. Only the sound of insects and the wind. The wind suddenly rustle. Because of what Yan Ru Yu said, she always felt that in the next second, there will be wolves rushing out of the woods.

“In the end, are there wolves around ah?” She hit the arm of Yan Yu Ru.

Yan Ru Yu looked up into the sky and smilingly replied: “Do you not said earlier that there are no wolves in the developed zone?”
