Third Quest

The next morning…

 

Vivian stood in front of the Adventurer's Guild building and there were many Adventurers that some decided to just wait outside.

 

It's no different from yesterday, huh…

 

Before coming here, she had breakfast at the eatery next to The Silver Wing Inn.

 

There was a smile on her face and she was already dressed for an adventure.

 

Her hair was tied into a ponytail, she wore a new shirt underneath her leather armor, she held a whip on her hand, she had a water pouch on her waist, a kitchen knife inside her left boot and the hotel key inside her right boot. And as for the rest of her belongings, they were still back in the inn. After all, checkout time was noon.

 

She rotated her shoulders.

 

I still feel weird wearing a bra…

 

But I still get the same satisfaction of wearing new clothes…

 

It really feels great when you're wearing something nice and presentable…

 

She stepped inside the building.

Upon entering the main hall, it was the same as yesterday.

 

At one of the corners, the Gold Ranks were occupying the seats and discussing among each other fellow Gold Ranks. Meanwhile, at the rest of the corners, there were the Silver and Copper Ranks talking among each other. And lastly, there was the group gathered near the Quest Board pushing and arguing while waiting for one of the receptionists to post the new batch of Quest Papers for today.

 

Vivian scratched her nose before heading to one of the corners to lean against a wall and wait.

 

Tch.

 

When she arrived at the spot, there wasn’t a proper spot where she could lean against a wall and still have a clear view of the Quest Board. 

  

Why the fuck am I so short…?!

 

If I were still in my original body, this wouldn’t be a problem…

 

She decided to go to a corner where she could still see the Quest Board. She stood in a relaxed position and folded her arms around her chest with her left foot pointing to the left, her right hip sticking out and her head slightly tilting to the left. And combined with her RBF (a.k.a. Resting-Bitch-Face), it gave her a hot and scary look.

 

What the hell…?

 

As a man in her previous world, whenever she folded her arms around her chest, it was just automatic. But now with female breasts, despite being covered with leather armor, she had to properly place them underneath her breasts or it would feel very uncomfortable.

 

She tried to find the perfect position. 

 

Unfortunately, she experienced the same issue.

 

Thanks to her leather armor, even if she positioned her arms underneath her breasts, she could also feel the padding of her armor pushing down her breasts so she had to position her arms even lower, leaving them in a very awkward position.

 

This isn’t working…

 

She gave up and placed her left hand on her hip and her right hand tapping her leg with the whip.

 

"Make way! Make way!" shouted a male voice.

 

Just like yesterday, a group of Adventurers were trying their best to let the receptionist carrying a stack of papers pass while simultaneously still staying close to her.

 

"Hey, stop pushing!" a man cried out.

 

"Don't block the way!" another male cried out.

 

"Ouch, my feet!" a woman cried out.

 

"My butt!" another man cried out.

 

The receptionist carrying the stack of papers finally reached a board and immediately began posting each paper on the board.

 

"I call dibs on that one! I dare any to take that from me! You will feel my wrath!"

 

"Shut the fuck up!"

 

"Ugh….!" a man moaned loudly.

 

"Hey, I can't breathe! Move away!"

 

"Then get out of here!"

 

"Haven't you heard of ladies first!?"

 

"You'd be lucky if anyone would even consider you a lady with that face!"

 

When the receptionist was finally done posting and slid away, just like yesterday, all hell broke loose. So many people began rushing and gathering around the board. Some of the people at the front got pressed against the board and there were hands reaching out and ripping out the papers from the board.

 

Is it like this every day…?

A couple of minutes later…

 

The main hall finally quieted down.

 

Just like yesterday, some people were standing in line in front of the Quest Processing counter to accept the quest, others waited in the corner, and a few left without even taking a quest. 

 

There were also still a handful of people standing in front of the Quest Board checking the quests.

 

And one of them was Vivian.

 

Vivian turned her head to the counter where people who couldn't read or wanted to ask about other details regarding a quest go to.

 

There were 2 people there.

 

One was talking to the receptionist while the other was waiting for his turn.

 

Vivian made her way there and stood behind the person who was waiting in line.

A few minutes later…

 

The person talking to the receptionist turned away and left.

 

Vivian stepped forward.

 

"Hi, good morning, how may I help you?"

 

"Hello, good morning too. I'm here to ask about the available quests for Copper Rank. I can't read."

 

Vivian added the last sentence in case the receptionist forgot about her. Furthermore, she also wanted to establish that she had a legitimate reason for asking for her help.

 

"Okay," the receptionist said and then turned her gaze down at the logbook.

 

"The available quests for Copper Ranks today are --

 

"Pick up a package from this city and deliver it to someone in Dascha Village. Reward is 30 copper coins and the time limit is 7 days.

 

"Search for a missing Krii pet named Pipi. If not found, its whereabouts will suffice but must have proof. Reward is 30 copper coins and the time limit is 30 days. This quest has been listed as a special quest by the guild so you can take another quest while also taking this quest.

 

"Search for a missing engagement ring. Last known location was at The Silver Wing Inn. Reward is 50 copper coins and the time limit is 30 days. This quest has also been listed as a special quest by the guild.

 

"Gather 15 tails of the Bukaroo. Reward is 20 copper coins and the time limit is 3 days.

 

"And lastly, gather 30 Tusha Herbs and must be in good condition. Reward is 10 copper coins and the time limit is 2 days.”

 

After reading, the receptionist raised her head and looked at Vivian.

 

"These are the available Copper Rank quests at the moment."

 

"I'll take the gather 15 tails of the Bukaroo bird, please. Thank you."

 

"Okay, please wait for a moment," the receptionist said before leaving.

 

When she came back, she was holding a Quest Paper that she took from the Quest Board.

 

Hmm…

 

What if while I was asking about that quest, someone already took it…?

 

Wouldn't it be a huge flaw in the system…?

 

I mean, it's not like this receptionist can just magically know right away whenever a Quest Paper is taken, right…?

 

Vivian shook her head mentally.

 

I guess this is what I get for not being able to read and write…

 

I won't blame her if she thinks I'm a nuisance…

 

"Here's the Quest Paper. Please submit it to the Quest Processing counter in order to officially accept the quest," the receptionist said as she handed the paper over to Vivian.

 

"Thank you," Vivian said and then left.

 

Another person stepped forward and replaced her.
