Vivian's brows knitted together as she read the new information on the Status Panel.

[Nemesis of Beasts]...

 

How did I learn [Savage Mastery]...? 

 

Was it because I killed the monsters with my bare hands...?

 

I mean, ever since I lost my dagger, I've been using kicks and ripping apart my opponents with my hands... 

 

And I never used punches... 

 

So if I were to go by that logic, then it seems to be the most plausible explanation...

 

"But what about this [Nemesis of Beasts]?"

 

She reread the description on the Status Panel.

 

"Animals and beasts have a natural aversion to the bearer…"

 

"So does this mean animals and beasts will avoid me?"

 

A dark expression appeared on her face.

 

"If I will have a hard time finding monsters, that will make it harder for me to level up…"

 

A few other things flashed inside her head as well but she shook her head.

 

There's no point in worrying about this right now...

 

I need to focus on leveling up before I reach the city...

 

She closed the Status Panel and began walking.

She suddenly heard a flapping sound and animal noise near her.

 

When she turned to the direction where the noise was coming from, she was surprised to see a blue bird with a green chest and an 8-inch long brown tail that looked like a rattlesnake flying towards her.

 

She flinched for a moment but quickly calmed herself.

 

When the bird got close to her, it suddenly whipped its tail-like rattlesnake on her right shoulder.

 

"OUCH!"

 

She felt like something sharp struck her right shoulder, causing her to cup her shoulder and lean forward.

 

When she raised the sleeve of her shirt, she noticed a tiny red dot on her shoulder as if it was struck with a needle or something similar.

 

Confusion ran through Vivian's head for a second before she turned to the bird that just attacked her because she heard it crowing and flapping.

 

Beak!

The bird was turning around to make another pass at Vivian.

 

Vivian's eyes turned to slits and a murderous glint flashed in her eyes.

 

She got into a fighting stance as she waited for the bird to enter her attack range.

 

All of a sudden, Vivian felt something.

 

"WHAT...?!"

 

Her right shoulder suddenly felt numb and she struggled to raise her entire right arm.

 

Beak!

 

Beak!

 

The bird was already getting close.

 

The gears in Vivian's brain went into overdrive and she made a decision.

 

When the bird passed by her and its tail coiled to stung her, she stepped to the side and reached out her hand.

 

She caught the tail of the bird, turned around and swung down violently.

 

Bam!

 

The bird got slammed on the ground and a few of its feathers puffed out of it.

 

She then immediately proceeded to stomp it.

 

Bam!

 

Bam!

 

Bam!

 

The bird's body was flattened.

 

"YOU FUCKING BIRD! WHAT DID I DO TO YOU?! YOU CAME OUT OF NOWHERE!"

 

Ding!

 

'Unlocked [Poison Mastery] - Level 2! and [Body Art Mastery] (Leg Mastery) - Level 2!'

 

Vivian ignored the message and examined her right shoulder.

 

Her skin where it had been stung, earlier, there was only a red dot. Now, there was a red circle about the size of a coin. As for the numbing sensation, her shoulder still felt numb and she couldn't raise her right arm anymore.

 

She tried to wiggle her right arm but it only felt like another person's lump of flesh attached to her body.

 

Vivian's face quickly turned pale and she began sweating profusely.

A thousand dark thoughts ran inside her head.

 

It was then an idea popped inside her head.

 

She recalled the sunflower monster that coughed out an orange gas at her.

"Yes, that must be the case..."

 

"There's no -- This!!!"

 

She felt something.

 

To be specific, she felt her right arm once again.

 

It was only a tiny bit of sensation, but she could definitely feel it.

 

A crazy smile appeared on Vivian's face.

 

"IT'S RETURNING...!"

 

She turned her gaze at the dead bird on the ground.

 

Spat!

 

"FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKING USELESS BIRD!"

 

She swept her gaze around to look for a place to sit down and then went there.

 

"This has to be like the itching... "

 

"Yes, yes...!

 

"It will eventually disappear after a few minutes."

 

A few minutes later…

 

Vivian's right shoulder was no longer numb and she could even raise her right arm.

 

Woooh!

 

She threw a punch.

 

She pulled her arm back and checked her grip strength -- opening and closing her hand.

 

"It's back already."

A smile appeared on Vivian's face.

 

"I'm getting more skills~"

 

She closed the Status Panel.

 

"Okay, time to find more enemies."

 

She continued roaming around in search of enemies.

A couple of steps later…

 

There were 2 trunk monsters up ahead and Vivian had a cool and relaxed expression on her face.

 

My mana is now 24 points so I can perform 2 [Power Leg] skills...

 

And these monsters won't attack unless you attack them first...

 

She casually approached them.

 

However, the moment she got about 10ft away from the trunk monsters, they suddenly turned to her and charged.

 

Vivian was startled for a bit by the unexpected actions of the monster but then calmed down after remembering that she now had 24 mana points. In addition to that, although the trunk monster had a tough exterior, it was moving slowly. And as for its arms, yes, they looked like powerful whips, but they were only about 24 inches long. Furthermore, Vivian was faster now.

 

Vivian ran around them in circles.

With Vivian running around them in circles, the monsters stopped moving forward and were now turning around to face her, following her.

She stopped and pivoted before charging to the closest trunk monster.

She delivered a sidekick to one of them, sending it flying in the air and bumping into the other one before they both fell to the ground.

 

The other one that was still alive tried to get up using its branch arms but Vivian was already on it.

Braaak!

 

She delivered a swift kick as if she were kicking a ball.

 

Vivian turned around and continued roaming around in search of enemies.
